The ticking of the clock on the wall was the only sound in the small office where the two men were sat, staring at a seemingly simple piece of parchment. The taller of the two cleared his throat before speaking.
“Harry, love, are you sure you want to do this? I know you have your reasons, but please remember—it can’t be changed after. I just want you to be certain before you sign something that can’t be taken back.”
Harry looked up and smiled resolutely at his fiancé.
“I am completely and utterly sure of this, and of you, Blaise. My last name has only ever brought me pain and strife, and it holds nothing of any meaning to me. And besides, even if it did mean something to me, I would still give it up to take yours, my love.”
With that, Harry put quill to parchment and with a few, simple strokes, Harry James Potter became Harry James Zabini.
