chapter three

Ivory walked down the marble steps of Malfoy manor on her way to dinner, the manor never failed to astonish the girl, it was so grand and bigger than her home, but the biggest difference was the darkness.

The darkness loomed over, keeping watch over the witches and wizards, the darkness wasn't an enemy, it was an ally who was welcomed with open arms.

It intrigued her, as did everything which was forbidden to her eyes. She was drawn to the darkness just like a moth to a flame. That's why she always loved visiting Malfoy manor. Centuries of secrets buried under the cold marble gave her a rush of adrenaline.

She made it to the bottom of the staircase to find Rosier.

"Hello Rosier" she adressed the man who was lost deep in thought. He spotted her and perked up.

"Ah, Hello Ivory" he replied to her greetings all his attention now on her.

"I didn't see you when the meeting had taken place, I thought that you were gone too"

Her eyebrows knitted together in confusion, she hadn't been informed of any meeting.

"What are you talking about, Rosier?" she asked curiously.

"The meeting the dark lord held for all pureblood families, he had gotten a...tip let's say about the apocalypse and shelter for them." he spoke. "Your father had declined it, I didn't know that he was so cowardly to not even tell his own family" he added, a smirk forming on his face.

Ivory was infuriated at the brunette in front of her, as well as her father for not telling her about whoever the dark lord was and their offer for shelter from the apocalypse. He was in fault for their family's loss to the creatures.

She didn't know who the dark lord was, but judging from their title they seemed like they were a low quality Grindlewald.

While the wheels in her turned, Rosier walked away gesturing for Ivory to follow him.

She jogged after him to keep up and then resumed her normal pace. They finally reached a room which looked like a study. The pair stepped in to find a man turned away from them near a desk. His long, slender and pale fingers traced the edges of the desk

She immediately recognized those raven black curls as he turned around to face the pair. She took back calling him a low quality Grindlewald after remembering how he hexed her in their 5th year when she borrowed his quill.

After that day she got frequent glares from the boy so she avoided him like a plague, but she was still intrigued by him, but she knew that he was one mystery that she shouldn't be trying to uncover.

"My lor-" Rosier began but he was cut off by Tom.

"You're dismissed, Rosier" he spoke in a calm voice.

Rosier quickly nodded and scurried away leaving her alone with Tom who had been closer to her than before.

"I assume you've heard of how your father and how he.." he began, looking for the right word to say "Ah, how he so foolishly declined my generous offer."

"My father must have had positive motives when he declined your offer" she replied with anger evident in her voice.

"Your father was a coward" Tom spat, hate for her father dripping from him voice. But before Ivory could object he spoke again.

"But that's not why I bought you here" he said as he stepped away from her "You're here because I have to offer you the same thing which your father declined, shelter" he added.

Ivory thought for a moment, there must be something more, her father wouldn't just blindly decline shelter like that.

"And you want nothing in return?" she asked with one eyebrow raised (a/n: ivory isnt the rocks daughter sadly)

"Your loyalty is all I ask for, I want you to join my, club let's call it for purebloods about dark magic" he spoke "I know that you're interested in that Ivory, there's no need to hide your interests now"

She contemplated on his offer for a moment, she did like dark magic, but magic hadn't been working, she doubted that it would work any time soon.

"The magic is down" she stated her eyes meeting his soulless ones.

"Oh, that's why I need you, I see you're know how to work with muggle weapons, we're going to revive magic again."

She thought him to be crazy. It hadn't been 24 hours since she'd gotten rid of the monstrous walking corpses and he wanted her to accompany him to a quest.

"What if I decline?" she asked the man.

"I will pick you up and take you to the walls and throw you off, you will suffer the same fate as the rest of your family have" he spoke.

At first Ivory thought he was joking, but judging by his utterly calm features, she thought otherwise. He was a madlad.

But her family would've wanted her to survive right? She could bring them back, She couldn't be live with knowing that she had a chance to bring them back from being rotten corpses.

"Alright, I'll do it, but I'm definitely not doing this alone" she spoke.

"Brilliant, I will be seeing you at dinner" he spoke with a grin as he walked past her, out of the study.

Ivory was left with a lot of unanswered questions, but mostly, she was filled with adrenaline, this wasn't an adventure she'd imagined herself having as a child, but she wasn't complaining.

She hurried back up the stairs after grabbing an interesting looking book to read, dinner was in a couple hours and she couldn't wait to finally have a warm and proper meal.

She tried to read the book but after reading a page her eyes always drifted to the ticking clock to see when she would finally get to eat.

The orange hues of the sunset had poured into her room from the opened window. She looked outside, she could faintly see the zombies gurgling and groaning but she ignored them as she sat on the window sill looking out the window, filled with hope after a long, long time.
