chapter one
They were grotesque creatures, Ivory felt guilty calling her loved ones- or whatever was left of them grotesque. But it was true, they were inhumane, reanimated braindead corpses hungry for blood. Their skin was pale, their was blood all over them. Their moans weren’t their usual voices, their moans sounded like the devil’s Ivory would think.
Because whoever did this to her beautiful family, turned them into pathetic creatures, turned their love into hunger for blood was the most evil person to walk the earth, or reside beneath it.
She looked around from behind the table to see the corpse of her mother groaning as she stumbled toward her. She flinched, trying to clear her mind to do what she was about to. With shaking hands she got up and pointed her gun she got from a muggle to the woman who had given birth to her- to the woman who had supported her, loved her from the beginning, and shot her.
The corpse fell to the floor, the only difference from a few seconds ago and now that her mother was definitely dead, not some walking corpse. For now.
Tears streamed down her cheeks which were caked with dirt and she sobbed. But she had to kill her mother, for her to survive. Ivory felt selfish, she killed her mother for her own survival, she could have made a cure, revived magic to bring her mother, but now there was nothing she could do.
She heard groaning coming from the hallway as she picked up her gun and cautiously and reloaded it before she approached the spot where the sound was coming from.
The corpse of her brother spotted her as he charged toward her. She closed her eyes and pulled the trigger. The body of her brother dropped to the floor.
She heard more groans coming from downstairs. She had agitated the other zombies who had awoken from the loud sound of her gunshot.
Ivory climbed up onto a window sill as she shot down her family and people who worked at her house, dreading every second of it.
Tears ran down her face as she finished the last of them. She knew that there was no time to mourn and that she had to run now that she was out of ammo, she couldn’t use the floo system as all magic was down.
The sun was starting to rise, Ivory took in a breath of relief. Ivory dreaded night time because as a child she imagined creatures and ghosts in the darkness, waiting to pounce and devour her soul. The difference was that this time, they really were there, there were multiple nights were she couldn’t sleep as she heard someone walking into a door repeatedly.
She opened the door and walked out, breathing in the fresh air after a long, long time.
She looked around to see if there were any more of the creatures, but thankfully her family mansion was located in a deserted area.
She needed to get out before the zombies were awake again and trudged into the forest clutching her backpack with her essentials.
The forest felt terribly humid, her clothes were wet from the sweat as she walked along, cutting vines which got in her way with a dagger.
She didn’t know where to go, going to towns or villages would be suicide, they’re always populated and hence are the first to go down during an apocalypse.
She could go to Hogwarts, or perhaps Malfoy manor, she did get along with Abraxas and Malfoy manor was always well protected just in case magic failed them one day, another reason was that it was fairly close to Fawley manor.
Ivory didn’t stop walking until her legs were shaking from exhaustion, maybe it was better to rest till sunset when she would search for shelter for night.
She took out a cookie from her backpack and nibbled it. A tear slid down her eye, she felt exhausted. She killed her family, even if it was indirectly, it made her feel guilty, she felt alone and scared of what’s to come, she feared and dreaded the possibility that she would become a walking corpse just like her family.
She remembered the day they all turned into monsters.

“Mother! Adam is going to arrive soon with Alice, come quick!” Ivory exclaimed as she waited for her brother to arrive with her sisters Millie and Nadia next to her as they waited for their brother to arrive with his fiancée.
The trio gasped as Adam arrived, crouching down a bite mark on his neck and the corpse of Alice who was groaning and had a hand clasped around Adam’s arm.
“RUN!” Adam screeched before his human state was changed to one just like that of Alice’s.
She was the only one who got out without becoming a walking corpse.

Ivory opened her eyes trying to shake off the horrible memory.
An hour or two later, she felt well rested enough and began her journey to find shelter for the night.
She found a cave which would make a good shelter for the night and quickly made herself comfortable, using her bad as a pillow and spare dress as a blanket.
Sleep didn’t come easy as thoughts filled her head but after a while the exhaustion caught up to her, dragging her into the dream world.
