Monster Cat Saves The Day!
Ron’s exclamation seemed to upset the…cat-like creature in the cell. It was small and didn't even reach his waist. It was a snow white color with wide blue eyes.
“I am not a monster cat!” The creature yelled in a surprisingly girly voice before turning to Harry with pleading eyes,
“You’re not soldiers of this castle, right. Let me out! Look, the key’s right there!” The creature-the girl-seemed desperate.
Harry went to grab the keys before Ron stopped him.
“Wait!” Ron turned towards the creature, “How can we trust you?! You look similar to the thing chasing us!”
The creature gave him a look, “I’m in a cell, how can I be like them?”
Ron sputtered, but Harry was thoughtful, “Do you happen to know how to get out of her?”
The creature nodded, “If you let me out, I’ll show you the way!”
Harry turned to Ron, “What do you think?”
Ron pulled out his phone. No signal. He let out a frustrated sigh before turning back to the creature,
“You better not be lying.” Harry grabbed the key on the wall and freed the creature.
“Ah, the taste of freedom.”
“Where is the exit, Monster Cat?!”
The creature looked sharply at Ron, “I am not a monster cat! My name is Hedwig!”
“Do you want to be locked up again?!”
Hedwig deflated, “O-Okay! Follow me.” She scurried off.
Ron and Harry looked at each other. Harry spoke first,
“Let’s follow her.”
They are led to the bridge which was pulled up. Hedwig stood in front of a bust of ‘Crouch’.
“It’s closed!” Ron shouted, angry. Hedwig took an annoyed look at the boy,
“Let me open it first!” She turned to Harry, “Pull the jaw of the bust, Wild Hair!”
“My name is Harry…” But he did what she asked. The bridge lowered and they walked across the bridge.
“How were we supposed to know how to do that?!” Hedwig huffed before the three of them rushed to the exit.
Another guard stood in their way.
Blue flames summoned Harry’s previous outfit from before.
Ron backed up, tripping over his feet, “Shit, it’s them!”
Hedwig hopped in front of them,
“Stay back,” She told Ron before looking at Harry and his new attire, “You can fight, yes? Let’s do this! Come, Puss In Boots!”
Blue flames summoned a large cat in large boots, a cape, and a hat.
“You have one too?!” Ron exclaimed.
The guards melted into different creatures.
“Let’s shut them up!”
As they got into position to attack, Hedwig seemed to notice something.
“The Shadow’s positions…They’re out for blood! Fight like your life depends on it! Because it does!”
Harry nodded before turning back to attack, “Eiha!”
Unlike the last battle, it didn’t melt away. It did, however, take a lot of damage.
“You must be new at this.” Hedwig mused before carrying on, “You have to aim for their weakness! It will give you a chance to attack again while they're distracted. Watch! Zio!”
A bolt of lightning seemed to strike the monster and turned it to ash. The monster beside it was distracted for a moment. That moment was all Hedwig needed to swing her sword and destroy it, leaving it to melt away.
Hedwig seemed to smile at Harry, “Good job! Your Persona is really powerful!”
“Persona?” Ron asked, “That’s what those creatures you summoned are called?”
“Yes.” Blue flames surrounded Harry again, taking away his attire and leaving him with his uniform.
Hedwig gave him a look, “Looks like it’s still unstable.”
Ron rubbed the back of his head, “This isn’t making much sense.”
Hedwig looked at him sharply, “It would if you would listen, Loud Mouth!”
“Don’t call me that! My name’s Ron!”
As they rush towards where Hedwig led them, Ron stopped in front of a cell.
“Wait!”
Hedwig looks at him, “What is it?”
“I-I feel like I’ve seen him before!”
“So? We don’t need to worry about others right now.”
“Give me a minute! I’m trying to remember where I’ve seen him!”
“We don’t have time for this! We need to go! Besides, they-”
“Over there!”
They were spotted.
Hedwig mumbled, “He should have listened to me…”
“Let’s take them down!” Harry didn’t know where the confidence came from, but it felt right.
Hedwig seemed to beam at him, “Gutsy! Let’s do this!”
They took the creatures down with ease. Harry’s out went away again and Hedwig turned to Ron, seemingly more than annoyed,
“Let’s get out of here! Now!”
“Wait!” Ron protested, “We can’t just leave these guys-”
Hedwig interrupted, “You don’t get it! I don’t have time to explain! I’m leaving! Follow me or not, I don’t care!”
She hurried away and Ron shouted, “Fine! I’m going,” He turned to Harry, “Let’s go!”
They followed her upstairs, to the room they first entered and past it. They entered a room.
“Here we are!” Ron looked doubtful,
“How are we supposed to get out?! There are no windows!”
Something caught Harry’s eye, though.
“...The vent.” Harry pointed out. They both turned to him. Instead of annoyance, they beamed at him.
“You’re a natural!” Hedwig praised and Harry could feel his face heating up.
Ron nodded, “So, we just need to get the metallic mesh off,” He climbed the shelves and easily pulled it off. He fell to the floor, making a huge crash. Hedwig and Harry winced.
“Crap!” Ron hurried to stand up, “Did they hear us?”
Hedwig shook her head in disbelief, “Get going, you two!”
Ron looked confused, “What about you?”
Hedwig shook her head, “I have work to do. This is where we part ways.”
“Thank you,” Harry told her and she laughed,
“You have manners! No hurry, before you’re caught again!”
They nodded and crawled through the vent.
Hedwig watched as they went, “Interesting. The one with the wild hair seems especially useful.”
