"What are you doing here?"
"I read your notes."
Dorcas froze and looked down at their tea cup, "I thought you had already read them all."
Marlene shook her head and sat down, "I hadn't actually opened any of the books I brought, but Sirius was looking around my room and saw one of the notes and showed me."
"Why did you keep saying you had already read the books?" Dorcas asked.
Marlene smiled bashfully, "I may have been buying queer books to subtly tell you I was a lesbian, I couldn't keep doing it if you knew I wasn't reading them."
Dorcas burst out laughing, "I didn't pay attention to what books you were buying."
"It was a terrible plan. James came up with it, I should never have taken his advice." Marlene groaned.
Dorcas carried on laughing, "Well I mean, if he didn't then I wouldn't have a book to write the notes in."
Marlene grinned, "the notes that said you liked me."
Dorcas smiled back, "yep."
"So.. you like me?"
"I do."
Marlene leant her head on her hand and tilted her head to the side, "I like you too."
"So, the last note. What's your answer to it?" Dorcas asked after a moment.
"I'd love to go on a date with you."

Marlene was getting ready for her date with Dorcas, when people came into the apartment.
She stuck her head out the door and saw her roommates, plus James, sit down on the sofa.
At the smell of pizza, she left her bedroom and walked over to the pizza boxes that James had just put onto the table.
She grabbed a couple of slices and went back to finish getting ready, none of them acknowledging her intrusion as they argued over pizza toppings.
Her phone buzzed, and she picked it up to see a text from Lily.
Lily: Cas is over here asking for our help to get ready for their date with you. You didn't tell me you were going on a date with them!!
Marlene: Cause I knew you'd tell Reg and James, then James would tell Sirius, Sirius would tell Remus and Pete, Pete would tell Mary, Mary would tell Em, and then I'd have all of you spying on us
Lily: Lucky for us, Cas told me :)
Marlene: don't you dare !!
Marlene finished getting ready, wearing black baggy jeans, a blondie crop top, black doc martens and a black beanie. She gave herself big eyeliner wings and light purple eyeshadow.
Grabbing her bag, she left her room and started walking to the door.
"Where are you going?" Remus asked, his eyes drifting away from the film they were watching.
The question made the others look up, Peter paused the film and James looked at his phone.
A large grin spread across James' face as he pointed a finger accusingly at Marlene, "I know where you're going!"
Marlene groaned, Lily had messaged James.
"You're going on a date with Dorcas!"
Sirius gasped and clutched onto the back of the sofa, "When did that happen?"
"You were there when I found the note, asking me on a date!" Marlene said to Sirius.
"Yeah, but you didn't tell me you had agreed to it or that it was happening today!" they argued back.
Marlene's phone pinged and she looked at it to see a text from Emmeline.
Em: you're going on a date with Cas rn?? Where are you having it??
"Peter!" Marlene glared at her.
He smiled back at her, feigning their own innocence while still texting.
Remus pulled out his own phone, "Emmeline wants to know where your date is. Oh, so does Regulus. And Mary. And Sirius. Sirius, you're sitting right here, why couldn't you just ask Marlene that yourself?"
Sirius looked back at Marlene and frowned with mock fear, "Lesbians scare me."
"As they should", Marlene nodded while she grabbed the doorknob and finally opened the door.
Once the door was closed, James immediately grabbed his phone and facetimed Lily.
Lily's face appeared onscreen.
"Marlene just left", James informed them.
Lily nodded and called Regulus over, his face appeared on screen with a triumphant smile.
"I know where they're going."
