Note
This fic was written for the Fanatical Fics Discord Flash Fic Friday. One of the prompts was 'I may be dead, but I'm still pretty'.Clearly I do not own any of the Harry Potter Characters or Harry Potter Universe, and while canon is but a distant memory, I still like to center my fics around it at times.

‘Not my daughter, you bitch’, Molly shouted, as she pushed Ginny out of the way and raised her wand to block Bellatrix’ curse.
The battle that followed between the two witches was vicious and intense and Molly’s look of determination was matched by Bellatrix’ wild elation. She probably always had an evil streak, but the stint in Azkaban definitely had not improved her stability. She looked quite mad and possessed, as she fired curse after curse at Molly.
She had however underestimated the sheer power of a mother’s love for her child and especially a mother’s love for her only daughter. Where Bellatrix looked mad and unhinged, Molly looked fierce and in charge, capable of just about anything to protect her child. Slowly but surely Molly got the upper-hand and with a final flourish of her wand her opponent’s fate was sealed.
One minute Bellatrix was full of the joys of violence and the next she was gone from the plain of the living.

She looked around her, bewildered that she was dead. Shocked that she had lost that fight. Amused that things had not gone according to plan, as she floated backwards as through a veil, which brought to mind her cousin.
‘Would you look at who we have here,’ an all too familiar voice sneered, as he clapped his hands slowly.
For a second or two she thought she might have conjured him up, but then she noticed his always worse-for-wear looking friend beside him with that poor unfortunate bride of his, her niece.
‘Quite the family reunion,’ she cackled. ‘The Black family line not doing so well, I see,’ she continued in her usual sneering way.
‘I can’t believe that plump muggle-loving bitch got the better of me,’ she murmured under her breath, still trying to make sense of her new surroundings.
‘Love will always conquer evil and a mother’s love is the most powerful weapon on earth, especially when you threaten her children,’ Lupin said, in awe of their fierce friend Molly Weasley.
‘So how did you two end up here then and leaving little Teddykin an orphan?’ Bellatrix sneered while she danced a little jig of delight.
‘Drommy left holding the baby? How is my dear sister?’ Bellatrix cackled again.
‘What is that abomination of yours anyway, a little werecub, a baby changeling, or a werechangeling?’
‘I'm a Metamorphmagus, not a changeling, or at least I was when I was still alive,’ Tonks said, resigned that even in death, her aunt was a pain in the ass.
‘Teddy is too, if you must know,’ she added proudly.
Normally Tonks would have flown off the handle by now at the cutting remarks from her aunt, hair blazing in all colours of the rainbow, but the afterlife had made them all more even-keeled, unlike Bellatrix, who was still displaying some residual adrenaline after her recent departure, having probably had far in excess of that commodity to begin with.
The three friends were already adjusted to that serene state of life after death that gave you some perspective, which was kind of ironic, as this type of perspective would be so much more useful in life than it was in death. That wizard creator must have had some perverse sense of humour.
‘Eternity is looking a lot better, knowing that you got your comeuppance,’ Sirius remarked and Remus and Tonks nodded in agreement.
Bellatrix looked at the sorry bunch standing in front of her.
‘Well, I may be dead, but I'm still pretty,’ Bellatrix laughed maniacally, just as a chasm opened up behind her and sucked the dark haired beauty into an abyss from which few ever returned.
‘Death really does become her,’ Tonks remarked, as the fissure closed once more, and her two male companions had to agree.
