Chapter 76
Prompt: I'm your tutor
A loud knock at the door woke Draco with a groan.
"Dad, now is not the time," he grumbled as he pulled on a pair of pants before opening the door.
Confusion clouded his features as he stared down at Hermione Granger, swot extraordinaire standing outside his door.
In the silence that followed, Draco allowed himself to fully take her in for the first time. He'd grown up with her, but they rarely interacted, rather merely existing in one another's orbit. Their only point of contact was her best friend, Harry fucking Potter.
Harry Potter, biggest prat on the face of the Earth, the boy who lived to make his life miserable, and most unfortunately, his half brother.
What was she doing here?
Hermione's face flushed as she averted her eyes from his shirtless frame.
Draco smirked, "Like what you see?"
If possible, Hermione turned even more red, but she set her jaw and forced herself to look directly at him.
"No. I came here because I have a proposition for you."
Stunned for a moment, Draco opted for silence.
Hermione continued, "I know you're failing Algebra and if you do, they're going to kick you off the team."
"You leave Harry alone, no more pranks, no more jokes about Lucius, and I-I'll help you. I - I'm your tutor if you promise me that much."
She stopped, eyes searching his, probably looking for the good beneath his hard exterior.
You'll be looking a while, he thought.
Draco crossed his arms, allowing himself to flex his biceps, fully enjoying her not at all subtle eyes widening at the gesture. She really was much prettier than he ever allowed himself to notice before, maybe these tutor sessions could be more than educational...
Eyeing her up and down, Draco directed the full force of his smile toward her and was rewarded with another blush. He moved until he was a breath away and tucked one of her wayward curls behind her face.
"You've got yourself a deal, tutor girl."
