Chapter 50
Prompt: Who did this to you?
The first thing she noticed was the blood. The coppery smell invaded her senses until she could practically taste it on her tongue. He was supposed to be safe, the order promised him protection when he deflected, but his broken body tied to the chair said otherwise.
Hermione rushed toward him and gently removed his binds, placing him as delicately as she could to the floor. Tears pricked at her eyes as her diagnostic spell indicated he suffered from multiple broken bones as well as nerve damage from extensive use of the cruciatus curse.
After some basic healing spells, Draco let out a low groan and slowly opened his eyes.
“Granger,” he croaked, “just can’t keep your hands to yourself. Have some decorum when a bloke’s unconscious, will you?”
Hermione bit out a small laugh, her hands never leaving his face.
She swallowed thickly, “Who did this to you?”
Grey eyes searched hers and for a moment his trademark impassive expression was on display.
“Who, Malfoy?” Hermione pressed.
Draco sighed, “it seems not all of the order is so happy to have me fighting for the light.”
In an instant, Hermione saw red and could feel her magic pulsating throughout her body.
“You’re telling me this was done by OUR side?” she seethed.
“I think they see this more as their side Granger,” Draco chuckled darkly.
Mind made up and without another word, Hermione stood and made her way to the door.
“We’re leaving Draco. Fuck the order and their idiotic ideals about the light. If this is how the good side behaves? I will have nothing to do with it.”
Draco stared in awe at his witch, amazed she could care for him so strongly.
“But before we go, there’s one thing I need.”
Hermione paused and a fierce determination took over her face. She pulled out her wand and her eyes blazed with indignation.
“I’m going to need the names of each and every person who harmed you this evening.”
