Prompt: Don't Make Me

Hermione watched Ron’s face as he struggled and failed to contain his rage.

“Since our wedding? Are you fucking kidding me, Hermione?” Ron sputtered out.

Hermione took a deep breath. “I’m sorry Ronald. This isn’t how I wanted you to find out-“

“Oh that’s a relief!” Ron interrupted, “My wife of five years, the mother of my child, didn’t want me to walk in on her FUCKING her ex in her office. Did you have a better way to tell me?”

Hermione paused, “Ron I thought you knew the day Rose was born…”

“NO - no Hermione do not continue that sentence. Rose is mine, she has my hair, her eyes may change” he began rambling, eyes pleading with Hermione.

Holding back tears, Hermione reached out to stroke her toddler’s curly red hair. “Don’t make me, Ron, please.”

“She is mine.” Ron seethed. With a resigned sigh, Hermione glanced a peek into her daughter’s grey eyes, tapped a wand to her head and uttered “finite incantatem” as the red curls transformed to their natural white.
