Prompt: Did You Love Her?

Draco stared at the witch on the ground, tears filling his eyes, unable to form words. Bellatrix’ shrill laugh broke the silence.

“Ohhh did you *love* her, Draco? Did you love that big courageous heart of hers?” She cackled, eyes boring into his.

Swallowing hard, Draco forced himself to meet his Aunt’s gaze.

“Is she-” he couldn’t even finish the phrase, too scared to know the answer.

Bellatrix’ laughter once again filled the room. “Is she dead?? Oh no dear Draco, death would be too kind a service to the mudblood.”

With a sinister grin, Bellatrix continued.

“Turns out there are many uses for that courageous heart of hers,” Bellatrix spat, “just had to utilize them for the right side.”

Realization hit Draco before Bellatrix pointed her wand at Hermione.
