Shared Custody
Kit woke up, it had been a few weeks since he and Micheal pulled their last stunt, he pulled out a chair and sat at the table, draping a pool bag over his shoulder.
"You keep getting hurt and Xiao Lan will never be back at this point, take care of yourself Painted Skin-"
He sighed "it's Kit and don't worry Mr. Chang- I have sunscreen and stuff- it's just a pool day-"
"The last time you were just hanging out with friends I almost got my ass handed to me by Chaus mother- assure me you'll stay safe."
Chang in a way, saw Kit as his own, after the loss of Xiao Lan he was looking for something to fill that void.
"Okay then- I'll be out- don't worry- haven't forgotten about Xiao-Xiao-" he waved and walked out the door.
In reality, life was so good that Kit, Had Forgotten. He still needed those powers. He'd work it out peacefully though!
Kit arrived and met Micheal outside of Stella's mansion "Dude you lost a hot ticket-" Kit laughed and nudged him.
Micheal rang the doorbell and Stella greeted them, leading them to the back.
Kit felt normal now, Human, so it was easy for him to forget little things, like how he CAN'T SWIM.
Whenever Kit gets into the pool, the water slips into his skinsuit and weighs him down, even though kit had forgotten, Stella hadn't.
Kit stepped into the water before stella stopped him "Not so fast mister- you need a tube-" she pointed towards a rack of inflatable pool toys.
"Huh? Why?" He asked confused, Stella was starting to understand his tendency to get hurt.
"Ohhh- yeah I can't swim!" He nodded "Thanks stell's-" he grabbed a watermelon floatie.
After this the trio went out to get ice-cream "Shame Jentry couldn't make it."
"Yeah, said she was doing something with Ed and Tokki?" Stella shrugged.
Kit took a bite of his mint chocolate chip. "Mhm- this is good-" he smiled.
"What now?" Micheal checks his watch, glancing at the two.
Back at Kits apartment, a storm was brewing.
Moonie had come to return some of Kits belongings that he left during his recovery.
She knocked on the door and one of his "Parent" puppet things awnsered, which Chang slipped out of.
"Moonie-"
"Oh absolutely not-" she turned away. "I just got my child back and I'll be damned if you take her from me again, what are you doing here?"
Chang replied. "I was waiting for my disciple to return."
"Stop with the shit- Jentry said Kit left you in the past after you tried to kill him when your precious plan to get Xiao-Lan back didn't work-"
Chang laughed, that made Moonie uncomfortable. "Still as naive as ever I see-"
Moonie growled "Look, don't you dare touch any of these kids, you understand me?"
"Mhm- sure- Moonie one of those 'Kids' isn't even real, just a cheap party trick."
"He is, he's separating himself from you, and more importantly, he's a person- not some puppet for you to control! Not like I was!"

"Moonie. You know we said we wouldn't bring that up. Wouldn't want your daughter knowing what Mommy did to be here would she?" He teased and reached out to touch her cheek.
"You see yourself in him more then you do her, and one day, they'll find out why."
