The rain was pouring heavily against the library’s window. It was pitch black outside in the gardens but the moon’s shine revealed the drops slithering down the glass. Harry stared fixedly at the window while his N.E.W.T’s study book was left ignored in the wooden table of the library’s furthest cubicle. He had sneaked in the library past its closing hour because his nightmares plagued him. He convinced himself that maybe he could use this time to catch up on homework he hadn’t been able to do because he was distracted by a certain sapphire-eyed blonde.
His mind was wandering. Quidditch. Blue eyes. Soft blonde hair. An equally soft hand roaming up his leg under the dinner table, before he caught it and spared himself from her lovable yet cruel teasing. He stood up from his table and decided that maybe he just needed to find something more interesting to read to take his mind off everything. He walked through the farthest bookshelves and the only sounds were those of his footsteps.
He found a book about Animagi that Hermione had recommended to him earlier, and he went to reach for it, the cold air touching the skin revealed by his red and gold jumper raising up a bit, before he felt soft hands snaking around his waist. A gasp escaped his lips as he quickly turned around and pointed his wand at nothing and no one at all. He convinced himself that it was all a product of lack of sleep and he continued to reach for more books about D.A.D.A.
He felt a tender touch again, softly running through his hair, but when he turned startled, there was nothing. “Daphne… give me my cloak back.” He crossed his arms and tapped his foot expectantly, a hint of playful mock irritation adorning his tone. He waited for his girlfriend to appear from under the Invisibility Cloak, but there was no answer. Alright, he could play games as well.
“Oh… sorry, so it’s not Daphne hiding, I guess.” He waited some seconds before playing his best card, “I didn’t know you wanted to meet me here tonight as well. Sorry Romild-“ Before he got to finish his sentence, he was pushed against the bookshelf and Daphne was kissing him feverishly. The Invisibility Cloak was now at their feet as her hands proceeded to encircle his wrists and press them further against the almost falling books. Her tongue parted his now warm lips and she relished in his suppressed whimpers as she almost aggressively pushed him further against the shelf as she pressed her warm body flush against his. She pulled away and he inched forward trying to follow her lips. She smirked at his flushed face and his parted pink lips after rendering him speechless.
He was about to speak, but she trapped his lips in hers eliciting a groan from him as one of her hands hands now moved to his lower abdomen while the other pulled his head a bit back by his hair, breaking the kiss and revealing to her the pristine skin of his neck. She peppered soft kisses on it, gravely contrasting the audacious acts that left him slightly gripping the shelves behind him. “Daph…” He softly gasped before she unexpectedly sank her teeth into his skin, making him groan louder. She shushed him softly before pulling away once and for all, leaving his chest softly heaving up and down. She smirked as she took a moment to admire her handiwork and engrave the image of his flustered self in her mind, for her to revisit in her dreams.
“Lesson learned?” Her tone was soft yet tentative.
“What?” He blinked up at her, confused and still dazzled.
She walked closer to him and placed a finger on his bottom lip. His breath hitched as she traced it softly, before saying, “I don’t want to hear her name coming out of these ever again.” She tapped his bottom lip twice. “Understood?”
He nodded slowly as a smile spread across his face. “So…you’re jealous?” He teased and neared his face towards hers.
“Over you? Always. You’re mine, golden boy.” Daphne laughed at his even redder face. Of course she would retaliate to his teasings. Even though they had been together for months, she still had this effect on him. She crouched to pick up his invisibility cloak and his scattered books and passed them to him. Sparks flew between them when their fingers touched, and then her lips neared his ears to whisper, “Better go back to studying. We can’t have Gryffindor’s golden boy getting anything but O’s because of a Slytherin. Imagine the uproar!” Harry rolled his eyes after she said this, making her laugh loudly with that laugh reserved for him only.
“You better study as well, Greengrass. Snape would kill me if I caused his favorite student to get anything but the highest grades.” He laughed and quickly kissed her cheek before passing her one of the study books in his pile.
“Oh… and you better ask Hermione for some bruise hiding spells.” She went up on her tip toes and kissed the spot in his neck making shivers run down his spine. She feigned innocence as she smiled up at him before walking out into the dark corridors back to the Slytherin common room.
His brain was mush now. How could he study after his favorite person had left his brain and clothes all wrinkly?
