Sweet Sev epilogue version 1

Severus Snape walked purposefully along the train carriage, his prefect badge shining proudly on his new robes. The boy had grown taller over the summer and became a respectable 5'10, though his face still filled with some baby fat, which both his pseudo sisters adored. Petunia had jokingly threatened to fatten him up just to keep them. Severus only rolled his eyes at her comments and would grab a treat before winking at her. "You know my metabolism would just burn it away Tuney," he'd tease back. The girl would grumble how it wasn't fair that Sev was so perfect. Which Lily would laugh at.

As the seventh year made his way across the compartments, checking in on students especially the Slytherins, he bumped into another person checking from the opposite side. Severus had looked down, seeing another prefect badge worn by his peer. The boy, called Robert McMillian gazed up at Severus, his large eyes appearing larger and more innocent in the round glasses he wore.

Robert was one of the most adorable people you'd ever meet. He was barely 5'6 with small hands and a small, round face that had prominent lips and eyes, making him appear as a doll. The boy blushed easily too and usually wore clothes that were a size or two larger than his body. Most people flocked to give him attention and coo at him.

The two prefects shared many things in common. Both were smart, adorable, shy and attracted too much attention. The main difference was that Severus hated being centre of attention while Robert revelled in it. The Hufflepuff didn't go chasing it but he'd grown accustomed to it. Meanwhile, Severus tried to deflect any attention unless it came from his family and close friends.

The two boys were their year's most beloved, and that wasn't good for Robert. The Hufflepuff had an unhealthy competitive streak and believed that being adorable was the most natural thing to him, he'd never counted on Sev matching him with this type of thing. What's worse, was that Sev never tried and he'd gotten the attention of their year's most popular bachelors from his first day at school. The bachelors being, James Potter, Sirius Black, Wulfric Mulciber and Amos Avery.

The four bachelors weren't shy with their affection towards Severus either. The Slytherin boys would usually be found feeding Severus during meals, petting his hair and making the boy flush under their attention. Meanwhile, Sirius Black, Lily Evans and Remus Lupin were natural friends with Severus. They studied together, sat in class together and went on Hogsmeade hangouts often. This was Severus's main friend group and it also involved James Potter.

However, James Potter was a different story to the rest. Robert had fell in love with the Gryffindor seeker during their second year when James had displayed his skill at Quidditch and caught the snitch. Ever since then, Robert had tried his best to get Potter's attention. He handed him a love letter during their fourth year, he pushed to be placed in a group with the Gryffindor during lessons and other type of shenanigans all for the sake of James Potter looking at him and paying attention to him.

However, no amount of effort seemed to deter James's heart, which was filled by only one person, Severus Snape. It was obvious to everyone even the most innocent, that being Severus himself, that James fancied the Slytherin cutie. After every Quidditch match that James won, he'd publicly gift the snitch he'd caught to Severus in exchange for a kiss on the cheek. Robert usually watched on with envy at the display. It became a known factor and most cooed at the couple.

Everything came to a head before the annual Yule Ball at Hogwarts during their fifth year. Apparently, James Potter had had enough of the metaphorical dance he'd had with Severus and he'd stood during one morning feast and yelled at the top of his lungs, "SEVERUS SNAPE WILL YOU BE MY DATE FOR THE YULE BALL?!" Everyone's eyes widened and they acted as one when they all turned their head to the Slytherin in question. Severus seemed to be self combusting as his entire body went red and he stood abruptly, keeping his head down.

The boy walked hastily across the Great Hall, toward James. In turn the Gryffindor moved to meet the boy half way through. As the two reached each other, the entire room fell silent in anticipation. Instead of the expected 'yes I'll go out with you,' or maybe even the passionate kiss, Severus had opted to give James a quick peck on the cheek and a whispered, "okay," before he ran out of the Hall. James's face was priceless as he watched his crush run out, leaving him with the mess of his actions. James finally realised what he'd done and turned a bright shade of red as he calmly returned to the Gryffindor table, where his friends waited.

That day had been one the most heartbreaking for Robert but he couldn't reveal that to anyone. His friends had encouraged him to move on from James Potter but it wasn't that simple, he just couldn't understand what Severus had that he hadn't. The Hufflepuff unconsciously glared at the Slytherin prefect. Severus glared back, mostly out of pride. It wasn't easy to bully him, he had a backbone against bullies, his sisters taught him to stand up to them.

"Prefect McMillian," the Slytherin drawled. His voice was deep and luscious, unlike Robert's sweet and sultry one.

"Prefect Snape," replied the other.

"Sev!" Both boys jumped at the sound of  the newcomer. They looked behind Robert to find James with a wide grin on his face, the 'Head boy' badge shinning on his robes. Severus immediately relaxed and a shy smile split his face.

"Hey Jamie," he answered. James looked down at Robert and gave the boy a kind smile.

"Hey Robbie, how was your summer?" Robert spluttered with a blush.

"I-it was fine...my mother found a great Master for Charms," he replied. The Gryffindor nodded.

"Baby are you done for now? Could we go see Lils and the rest," James asked as he moved around Robert to reach his Slytherin. Severus accepted the warm arm that wrapped around his waist and snuggled into the wide chest of his boyfriend.

"Yeah sure," he replied. The Gryffindor leaned down to capture Severus's lips in a warm kiss. Severus sighed into the kiss and closed his eyes, melting into his boyfriend. When they separated, they stared lovingly at one another, unaware of their surroundings. Suddenly, Robert cleared his throat, forcing the boys back to reality. Severus blushed as he held onto James's robes.

"Sorry Robbie, we'll get out of your hair," said James and he took Severus's hand and guided them to their friends' compartment.

Inside the compartment, Lily lay down on Remus and Sirius, her head on the werewolf's lap and her legs on the rebel's lap, her and Remus's prefect badges shinning on their robes.

"Hey Sev, done with your errands?" Sirius asked jokingly. The boy never took the prefect and Head responsibilities seriously, usually mocking his friends for trying to be 'mature'.

"Hmm, miss me already Padfoot?"

"Of course, you're the only one worth talking to here," Sirius said with a wink. Lily kicked him in the face, albeit gently. "See what I have to deal with? The barbaric attitude of these two!" Sirius complained indignantly. Lily rolled her eyes as did Remus.

"Pads, you're more barbaric than all of us combined!" James commented as he adjusted himself for Severus to sit comfortably on his lap.

"How dare you?! That's defamation!" Sirius replied dramatically with his hand on his chest for extra effect! They all laughed and continued to talk.

"Guess who we bumped into while I was getting Sev," James said.

"Who?" Lily asked curiously.

"Robert McMillian." Severus's expression soured as did the rest of the group's, they all knew McMillian had a thing for James and what the Hufflepuff considered harmless flirting, they considered a step over a couple's boundaries. Severus instinctively tightened his grip around James's shoulder. The Gryffindor chuckled in response. "Easy Sev, no one is taking me from you. I'll be marrying you the moment we leave Hogwarts," the Seeker whispered seductively. The Slytherin shivered and blushed at the statement.

"No you're not! We're still too young! I want to get my mastery first and you want to become a Defence Against the Dark Arts professor!" Severus argued though it was very meek. James chuckled.

"I know baby. First we'll both get our mastery then, we can move anywhere in the world, take our parents with us to explore it. I know you want to earn enough to support your parents and we both can. You'll be the most desired potion's master in Europe, hell probably the world!" James said excitedly. Severus smiled shyly at his boyfriend and his enthusiasm. The Gryffindor really knew him and respected his wishes.

"What about babies? How many are you having?" Lily piped in with a mischievous smirk. Her brother's eyes widened significantly before he turned to give her a warning look. The girl wasn't fazed and her smirk widened.

"Children?...well we haven't discussed that in detail but I think we both want two," James answered nonchalantly, unaware of his lover's predicament.

"Oh? Only two?" Lily asked with false surprise.

"Yes, two is great...it's still too early to discuss this!" Severus spoke hastily as his face turned red.

"Hmm, that's not what I remember you saying Sev."

"Oh? What did Sev say?" Sirius piped in with a smirk of his own.

"Nothing!"

"Really? So, you mentioning how much you want to have five because five is the prefect number was nothing?"

"Five Sev?" James asked in awe. The Slytherin gazed at him with a shy expression.

"It's because...well I want a big family and I like odd numbers. Three seemed too little but seven was a lot….so, five," he trailed off in a whisper. James couldn't help but hug his boyfriend tightly.

"Five it is baby, we should probably start soon,” James said teasingly. Severus glared playfully at him and shoved him gently. Their relationship was certainly the least expected part of them joining Hogwarts but both boys couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
