Green. Fourth year Bakugou Katsuki didn’t like that color so he shouldn’t like him, right? Green hair and matching emerald eyes that made those stupid freckles pop out, Midoriya Izuku another fourth year looked like a perfect Slytherin. But he wasn’t, Deku as he liked to call him was very non-slytherin like but he was a Slytherin and Bakugou wasn’t very fond of Slytherins well he wasn’t fond of people but Slytherin’s were all talk and had nothing to show for it. He could care less that Voldemort was the root of the problem, he just didn’t like them, especially Malfoy another fourth year. The only one he did like at times was Professor Snape, but only at times because he did get sorta obsessed with punishing that fourth year Potter boy, he was sure there was some twisted story there but it wasn’t his problem.
Bakugou’s problem was Deku, because recently Deku was all Katsuki could think about and it was driving him mad. Deku was supposed to suck not suddenly beginning to improve and get praised in potions class by Professor Snape, he was supposed to stay just Deku.
The blonde frowned at Izuku who was all giddy from the praise as he packed up to get to leave for the next class, as the Slytherin boy stood he flinched suddenly seeing that Bakugou was looking at him. Izuku smiled weakly at him but as always Katsuki frowned and made Izuku nervous making the boy almost knock over his cauldron before he hurried out.
“Bakugou, a word,” Professor Snape called to him as the class emptied, leaving them alone.
The student sighed but grabbed his bag and walked over to Snape who was sitting at his desk and already failing Gryffindors and pity passing Slytherin’s as Bakugou liked to call it. “Yes, Professor Snape.”
Snape didn’t look up as he continued to grade, “I’m sure you are well aware that you are one of the only Gryffindors I actually go far as to say that I like-.”
“Oh, come on I’m not the only one, I know how fond of Potter you are, Sir,” Bakugou grinned.
Snape sneered, “Don’t make me take points from you.”
Bakugou sighed, “Sorry Professor, just- it’s an off day.” He fixed his bag on his shoulder and added, “Kinda irritated.”
“Yes, I saw you make simple mistakes that you could have avoided but you seem preoccupied with Midoriya’s potion,” Snape looked up at Bakugou, “He’s tolerable boy and he’s improving in his classes I would have assume you would be friends but since the beginning it has been kinda strange with both of you? I see both of you enjoying eachothers company-.”
“I do not enjoy Deku’s company,” Bakugou frowned.
“Yes, it seems recently it is like that,” Snape raised an eyebrow as he tapped his quill on some ungraded papers. “Katsuki, you’re a smart boy and I don’t have a soft spot for students so I am only going to say this once, even if you dislike Midoriya at the moment I suggest you sort out your feelings towards him and speak to him, it will only end badly if you don’t.”
“I do not have feelings for him.”
“Bakugou, I am not blind and it doesn’t matter what sort of feelings you do have, sort them out and tell Midoriya because if you keep making mistakes in my class I have no choice but to fail you.”
“Fine,” Bakugou groaned but nodded.
Snape went back to grading papers as he spoke, “Now you do realize I’ll have to give you a failing grade for today’s potion. It was an utter failure and I can’t be having Gryffindor’s thinking I’ll go easy on them just because they’re capable.”
“Oh, Merlin forbid they find out you can find others tolerable other than just your Slytherin’s,” Bakugou grinned as he walked away from the desk.
“Don’t make me take points, Bakugou.”
“Yeah, yeah I’ll keep my mouth shut,” But before Bakugou made it out the door he stopped and looked back, “Thanks for the advice, Professor I know my situation is different but I think you should practice what you preach- you know with Potter?”
“Five points from Gryffindor!” Snape growled, only receiving Bakugou’s booming laugh as he exited the class. He was going to hear it from the annoying headboy, for a weasley he was a stick in the mud. Bakugou paused when he saw a couple girls giggling with glass little bottles filled with hot pink sparkling liquid.
Amortentia.
Bakugou’s eyes hazed a bit as he wondered if could force one down Deku’s throat-, “How stupid,” He glared at the girls who flinched and looked guilty. He ignored them and made his way down the hall, he was going to be late for his next class-
“That’s so awesome, Cedric,” Izuku’s voice cheerful and loud made him trip. The sound of his voice made his blood boil as Izuku fawned over another pathetic person, “I don’t know how to do it properly and I'm falling behind, would it be too much to ask if you could help me with it?” Izuku stood too close to Cedric as the older Hufflepuff showed him a charm that the fourth years were working on.
Katsuki clenched his jaw, oh he was tempted to snatch one of those bad quality potions from the girls he saw earlier.
What was so wrong with wanting Izuku to be only focus on him?
