A fighting truce
Once we had seemed to declare that we all agreed to work together. I let my smirk falter a little before looking at them slightly annoyed again.
“You’re still on thin ice Weasleys. And this doesn’t mean I like either of you.” I said pointing at them and they nodded laughing a little.
“Noted.” George said confidently and I rolled my eyes at them.
“Now go get yourselves cleaned up, we can reconvene when you’re clean.” I said, they nodded, George did a mocking salute, and I sighed walking off back into the library, I stopped by Madam Pince’s desk on the way.
“I’m really sorry miss.” I said and she nodded with a sigh, and just pointed as if to say: Just sit down and shut up. I nodded and did just that.
As I sat down Ana got close to me wearing a wicked grin, I raised an eyebrow but bowed my head, so we could have a hushed private conversation.
“So? How did it go? Hermione said she set you guys straight.” She said clearly hopeful. I just sighed before shrugging with a small smirk.
“Yeah, she can be pretty scary. And well, me and the boys have made an agreement of sorts.” I said and Ana groaned over dramatically.
“Seriously? Another truce? That’s it?” She whisper yelled, and I rolled my eyes at her investment in this, I did however want to make her happy and I knew my next information would do just that.
“Not exactly. We have agreed to put aside our differences until we can exact a swift and thorough revenge on whoever thought they could mess with the biggest rivals in Hogwarts.” I said with a smirk and Ana squealed and hugged me, I could not help but laugh a little.
“Oh my god that is amazing! We can finally hang out with the fittest boys in school without you hating them.” She said still hugging me and I chuckled light and rolled my eyes, padding her arm lightly.
“Relax would ye? It’s only a temporary arrangement, when we’re done it is right back to hating them while being a much better beater than them.” I said ending with a proud smile, Ana let go of me and waved me off.
“Fine, be stupid.” She said and I just chuckled lightly shaking my head before going back to the reading.
*The next day – Charms classroom*
I sat down next to a much cleaner George Weasley than the one I had met yesterday. We still did not smile or greet each other, we did however not glare at each other, I had to keep that to a minimum if I actually wanted to get revenge on whoever had thought they could prank them and more importantly me.
Flitwick taught some before handing out some theoretorical questions for us to fill out for the rest of the class.
“So?” George said expectantly as light chatter filled the room and I looked over the questions, I looked up at him with a mixture of disgust and confusion.
“What?” I asked and he chuckled a little shaking his head.
“We can do these questions in our sleep. So, our prankster.” He said and I rolled my eyes before looking back at him.
“You might, but contrary to popular belief, I do actually want good grades.” I said sarcastically and he just chuckled lightly.
“Right, and I will get you that! Remember? I’m actually smart.” He said in a voice that was clearly meant to mock a certain Granger, but I could not help but take it personally, and so I ended up glaring at him.
“Implying that I am not. I might not be as bookish as you maggots but doesn’t mean I’m not smart! Wanker.” I said annoyed, he seemed to want to reply something, but I just turned away from him, grabbing the paper and my quill on the way. With my back turned to him I started doing the questions alone.
I knew it was childish, but he knew I was insecure about my intelligence. It was not that I didn’t think I was smart. I knew I had smarts, I was just not always the best book learner. I learned in a practical setting, and understood much more if someone explained it to me rather than having to read it. So when I was sorted into the smart house, I was happy, because I was following in my parents footsteps and I was making them proud. But being surrounded by, well minus Hermione, Hogwarts smartest students, I could not help but feel insecure. I was not as fast or academically gifted as the rest of them. I had other things I was good at and I clung to that, but it did not mean that my intelligence was the only thing I was unsure about. George seemed to want to come into contact with me again, but I did not want to talk to him right now. I did want to keep the small peace we had created and if I talked to him right now, I knew I would snap at him.
At lunch I sat down beside the boys Fred greeting Ana with a warm smile, I gave them a sarcastic one. Ana smiled and then looked over at me expectantly, I had of course told her what happened in charms.
“Tori has something to say, don’t you Tor?” She said expectantly, I sighed shaking my head a little at how childish this was, but she had insisted that I apologise to keep the truce alive, I tried to argue that this was clearly George’s fault, and he should be the one apologising, but she was in that mood where there was no fighting with her. So I took another deep breath.
“I’m sorry if I was childish and overreacted after you insulted me during charms today George.” I said with little conviction, I was clearly acting childish, but I thought this was stupid. I turned my attention from the slightly laughing boys to my best friend.
“Happy?” I said sarcastically and she rolled her eyes.
“That was barely an apology, my brother deliver better ones, and he is 4!” She protested and I rolled my eyes at her.
“Well I’m not the only one who should be apologising am I?” I said turning to George sarcastically, and he did look a little guilty.
“That is fair. And I am sorry that I made you mad.” He said and I pointed to him, while still looking at Ana.
“See, even the gowk agrees!” I said clearly not focused on that, she just gasped and looked up annoyed.
“How are you teaming up with him against me?” She said with a small smile and I just rolled my eyes getting up.
“Whatever” I protested half heartedly not wanting it on me that I was teaming up with the Weasley twin. Ana just laughed a little.
“Yeah, it’s not like you would ever do anything wrong towards us that warrants an apology.” He muttered seemingly to amuse himself, but I heard it and turned to him annoyed. A part of me told me not to, but every time he spoke something in me would just react, like adding dragons blood to any potion with worm guts.
“Oh f*ck off you wanker, you have done just as much over the years, only difference is I know when to keep my f*cking mouth shut.” I said getting up wanting to clear my head before my next class, me and Ana had eaten before going over there, so thankfully I did not have to starve because of those two idiots.
“Yeah? Snape, year three.” He said getting up and stand close to me in an annoyingly, overconfident, manner. I felt like I was about to burst with anger and I could feel my fist curl up, I however knew I could not exactly keep this up if I wanted revenge, and now I just raised my hands like I wanted to claw his eyes out, while not touching him, and letting out an angry sound, before walking off.
Chapter 3
General P.O.V.
As Tori stalked off, George made a gesture that matched what she had done, in a mocking manner, and then laughed a little, before sitting down. He had no idea why he had elected to goading the girl on, it just seemed to come naturally to him after doing nothing but making her yell at him for the last 6 years. As he sat back down beside his brother, he realized that Fred and Ana was glaring at him. He met their looks confused.
“What? She’s the one who always goes off!” He protested not wanting it on him that he caused this, he wasn’t the only one picking a fight, she was doing it just as much. Ana just looked at him disappointed.
“You just had to ruin the peace I fought to keep didn’t you?” She said annoyed before grabbing her things walking off to find her friend. George shook his head at that annoyed, he did not think he was too much at fault here. He turned to his brother wanting to say: “Women, right?” but he was met with a look he did not expect, seemingly the same disappointment that he had found on Ana’s face.
“You couldn’t keep your mouth shut for two second could you?” He said still annoyed but a little more forgiving than Ana had been. He looked down and sighed, it was clear that Ana and Fred liked each other, at least as friends, George had noted that a while back, he just did not think that it meant that much to Fred. He sighed, there was nothing he would not do for his twin brother, even if it meant setting aside everything he stood for to befriend his rival of 6 years.
“I will try and behave.” George said and Fred flashed him a wicked grin.
“Please, like we have ever behaved a day in our lives.” Fred said with a smirk, this made George smile as well knowing his brother was still on his side.
