Chapter 2
For the past 5 years Remus and Sirius had became a couple and had gotten married. Harry was now 6 and was very excited to becoming to Hogwarts as a student in two years’ time. The family of four spend a lot of time visiting little Athena. Reading to her, singing her lullabies, snuggling her on the rocking chair. Harry even drew pictures for her to hang on the walls of her nursery at Hogwarts. When it reached her 5th birthday, they all knew that it was becoming less and less likely that she would ever wake.
It's October 31st, 1986, Sirius, Remus, and Harry are all sitting around Athena’s bed as they do every year holding onto that last piece of hope that the little girl will wake up. They were all getting ready to say their goodbyes when a sudden a bright golden light flashes into the room, all momentarily blinded but soon enough come back into there senses and the two men push Harry behind them and stand guard in front of Athena. "Please don't freak out I am not here for the child I'm here to make a deal with you." The creature says, it looked like death but instead of the creature being black, with black robes the creature has golden skin and bones with a golden cloak, "Who are you and what does this deal include" Sirius asks as he picks Athena up and cradled her close to his chest.
"I'm the master of all creatures, My name is Kuda I hold power that nobody has ever seen, I am the opposite of Death, but I am not the same as god. I am the master of all living things. This war was never supposed to have happened. Tom Riddle was never supposed to grow to who he was. There is another war coming and this time I want to be prepared. What I am propositioning you is that I can keep Athena alive. However, it comes with a catch, I give Athena powers nobody has seen before, with this power she will be able to heal people, and she will also be able to bring back people from the dead. People who were never meant to die anyway. These powers will not hurt her at all.” Kuda informs.
"How do you know she will be able to control this power" Remus asks worriedly, "I can see it if you accept my deal, she will live a long and beautiful life" Remus and Sirius look at each other, having a silent conversation with their eyes. "As long as you swear that this power will not cause her any harm and she can handle it, you have our consent" Sirius declares, carefully handing the little girl over to Kuda, who places Athena back into her crib. Kuda then places his hand over her sternum and mutters a spell that neither of the men could catch, Kuda turns back to the couple who have since put their wands back into their holsters.
“It has been done, I have to leave now but she will awake tomorrow, for safety reasons I need to take your memories of this conversation away, from now on if Athena sees fit, she will be the only one to talk to me and death" Within a second Kuda has disappeared, and Harry had awoken from the state he was in to find Athena awake. Running over to his legal guardians shaking them awake, yelling for all to hear that “Athena is awake.”
Sirius awakes with a jolt, looking around the room he notices that Harry is yelling something at him, when his brain caught up and he realised what he was saying he quickly woke Remus and ran to get Poppy. Soon enough Poppy was running a diagnostics check and frowning at the scroll that appeared. "Poppy what's wrong, is she ok?" Sirius asks nervously,
"I need Albus where is he?" Poppy asks ignoring Sirius completely, “I'm here Poppy what's wrong?" Walking over to the crib and frowning at the scroll he ran his own diagnostics check and stumbled back when he felt how much power this little girl had. "Merlin, I can sense what you sense Poppy," Dumbledore says with wide eyes, "Ok, can someone tell me what in Salazar is going on?" Remus yells,
"Remus calm down, Athena here has an extremely powerful magical core, so powerful in fact that her core is bigger than Dumbledore’s,” Poppy informs, looking at the child with wide eyes, “I recommend Albus that when she is old enough, I say around 4 or 5 she be taught about magic. I worry that if we leave it until the age of 11, she might not be able to control it. If it’s alright with you Remus and Sirius I want to do a quick summary of how powerful she is and then every year on Halloween check again to see what her progress is and what we must do.” Poppy asks.
“It's completely fine, personally we would also like to know what we have to do to keep her safe. Dumbledore if it’s possible I would like to have a chat while Poppy runs her exam" Remus states, Dumbledore nods and both men leave, leaving Minnie, Sirius, Harry and Poppy in the hospital wing with Athena.
Walking out of the hospital room, the two men quickly found a small, abandoned room and Remus quickly started explaining, “When we first brought Athena here, you said that Sirius and I could always come to you for a job if we needed one. With the way things are progressing with Athena. I feel it is best if we both reside in the castle, that way when she starts her magical education, she doesn’t have to travel from place to place. I also think it’s best that we reside here, that way we can keep an eye on her magical core.”
“I remember Remus, I must ask if you have had this conversation with Sirius?” The man asks, “We’ve talked about it at length. We knew something could happen and we were prepared for the move” Remus replied, “Alright then, I shall get your staff quarters ready. Remus you’ll be taking Advanced Arithmancy Studies and Alchemy if desired enough. Sirius will be teaching Care of Magical Creatures and Duelling club if he desires to.” Remus thanked the man quickly before walking back into the hospital wing.
A few days later, Athena had received a clean bill of health and her legal guardians had moved into the Hogwarts. Harry had given Athena the nickname Atty and both men, are loving having Athena awake.
