Scared Potter? (Drarry)

No one was sure how it happened. No one was sure who started it. But what everyone knows was that a sharp word was said, emotions rose, wands were drawn and the Slytherin prefect was quickly-well accidently-disarmed (Ginny...) then everyone watched as it disappeared into the foliage of the Forbidden Forest. But everyone did find it preposterous when Snape ordered the four to go into the forest and retrieve it. Including Minerva. She shouted, she screamed, hell, she threatened to use the Cruciatus! However Snape's word was final and no one could challenge him (I mean Dumbledore could but he wasn't there...or so it seemed...)

So here they were plowing through the skeletons of bushes looking for Draco's wand. Well Harry, Hermione and Ron were looking for his wand. Draco on the other hand... "Ugh! This is servant's work! I don't know why I'm out here. I should just be chilling in the Slytherin common room while you three suffer. Instead I have to be here. Stuck with the Mudblood, the Weasel and the Golden Twat-ow! Stupid excuse for a plant!" he complained trying to keep up with the Trio's pace. "Will you shut up Malfoy?" Ron asked tiredly. The three friends didn't sign up for this. Their feet hurt, their eyes hurt, their backs hurt, their legs hurt, their heads ached and their ears rung with the blonde's voice. They took turns holding the lantern and scanning the forest floor for an unusual smooth piece of wood but to no avail.

"Why should I?" he spat sneering. "Because your talking isn't helping us. It's not assisting in finding your wand, it's not giving us clues to where it might be. It's only giving me a headache. Bet you scared all the animals." Ron mumbled sticking close to Hermione. "At least they won't bother us." Harry answered. "Tis true." Hermione frowned. "Well then I'm doing us a favor." Draco stuck his nose in the air. The path was slowly narrowing, thorns hedging the passage which forced the wizards and witch in training to walk single file: Ron in front, Draco and Harry in the middle and Hermione at the end.

Suddenly Ron froze and the others crashed into him. "Ow! What is it Weasel?" the Slytherin asked annoyance on his face. He raised a finger and pointed ahead of him. "Th-t-there's a sider. Right there." he whispered. A skinny black spider the size of an apple seemingly hung midair with nothing to hold onto. "Are you serious? You're scared of a bug?" he rolled his eyes in frustration. "You're no better than Crabbe or Goyle. Only difference is that they don't run away from spiders. Just kill it." he grabbed Hermione's wand and aimed it over Harry's and Ron's shoulders at the spider. "Avada-" "NO!" Harry grabbed the boy's wrist. "What the-!" "Don't kill it!" he hissed. Draco looked at him shocked. "Why not?" he rose an eyebrow. "It didn't do anything." he replied his expression softening. "Bloody hell Potter. The stupid creature is impeding progress. Mr. Weasel isn't gonna move and I'm just...removing the obstacle. I don't want to be here." he said anger on his face. "Neither do I but killing isn't the answer." he said softly. Then he stepped in front of Ron and reached out to the spider. It stepped onto his palm. He then stepped off the path and carried the arachnid to a tree. The spider scurried off his hand and disappeared into the foliage. "Stupid Gryffindor honor." he heard Draco mutter.

They continued on. Once in a while the hoot of an owl or the chirping of a cricket would trigger the most hilarious reactions out of the poor children. After a while the four were basically trudging through the forest. Their eyes were too tired to look for the wand. At this point they just wanted to go home. "Ugh, is detention over?" Ron asked forlornly. Hermione tried to shrug but her shoulders didn't seem to work. "Let's just go back." Ron's anger rose. "We'll tell them that we couldn't find it. They'll understand... Bloody hell! I'm going back." he suddenly turned on his heels and began to trek back. "R-Ron!" Hermione started to go after him. Harry was going to follow when Draco's voice halted him. "I saw something!" he exclaimed. "W-what-?" he only caught a glimpse of the Slytherin as he came off the path. "Malfoy!" he sprinted after him.

Draco wasn't too hard to follow. Just when he thought he lost him, he'd see a flash of that blond hair and the chase would commence. Although after a while the git began to play with him, disappearing on purpose or peeking from behind a tree then taking off again. Soon of course Harry found himself crawling through tight places, thorns scraping at his knees. He finally came to a clearing which was eerily quiet. "Look!" Harry saw Draco waving his wand. "I found it. Now we can go back." he smiled although it was more of a smirk. "You don't go running off like that Malfoy-!" he eyes widened like he'd seen a ghost. "What? Seen something Potter?" he asked with distaste.

Unbeknownst to him the plants behind him were slowly creeping towards him. Suddenly one of the tendrils plucked the wand from his hand. "What the-!" horror flashed through his face. The space was gradually becoming smaller. "Potter what's happening?" he asked a nervous smile on his features. The Golden boy was just as confused and frightened. Just then the plants pulled Draco off his feet and began to drag him. "POTTER!" he screamed panic in his voice. Harry was going to grabbed his out stretched hand but the rapidly moving vines wrapped around his body and held him back. "I can't reach you!" he cried out a sinking feeling rippling through his body. "Harry!" he heard a girl yell. Gritting his teeth he fought against his organic restraints and managed to grabbed Draco's failing hand. "I got you!" he yelled. The blond looked at him, fear in his irises. The plants pulled trying to take him with them. One vine wrapped around his wrist and bit in. His hold slipped causing Draco to whimper. "Please don't let go..." he pleaded. "I'm trying but this bloody plant sure is making this difficult." he gritted his teeth in irritation. "Harry-! HARRY! NO! HARRY!" the Gryffindor looked behind him and saw his friends running towards them but the plants rapidly were closing in. "HARRY!" was the last thing he heard as the plants cut him off from them, becoming nothing but a wall of vegetation.

The plants suddenly released them slinking off into the shadows. Both boys fell to their knees a nervous sweat drenched their foreheads. At that moment they realized they were still holding hands.

Harry pulled his hand away from Draco's. The Slytherin wiped his hand on his robe though a stinging hollowness laid at the pit of his stomach. "HARRY! ARE YOU THERE?" Sudden pounding made Draco jump back. Harry got to his feet and ran up to the wall surely separating him from his friends. "Hermione! Are you okay?" he called back. "I'M FINE. BUT I CAN'T SEEM TO GET THROUGH!" he swallowed his creeping fear. "HOLD ON, OKAY? I'LL TRY AND FIND ANOTHER WAY!" Audible shuffling through the underbrush could be heard. "Wait! HERMIONE!" he cried but there was no answer. "Shit," he hissed fear welling up in him again. "What's the matter? Scared?" He turned to face the bully, a sly smirk on his features. "Shut up Malfoy," he gritted his teeth. "I suppose we should get outta here," he stated as though it was the logical thing to do.

"Oh I think not," a unfamiliar voice interrupted. A sheering pain shot through Harry's scar. He slumped to the ground squeezing his eyes shut. "Potter?" the blonde looked on with horror. What was happening to him? The air became too damp for his liking. His hair began to stand on end but he didn't know why. He rushes over the Gryffindor. "Potter? What is it?" he asked moving some stray hairs from his face. Harry managed to pry his eyelids open despite the pain and glared over Draco's shoulder with unadulterated hatred. "Voldemort."

Right on cue, the Dark Lord emerged from no where, a smirk on his nose less face. "Well guessed Potter," he spat his voice cold. A few Death Eaters joined albeit they were behind him. Draco recognized Wormtail and Bellatrix Lestrange. The others were strange to him. "What do you want?" Harry hissed. "Isn't it obvious? I want you to...die," he said with mock innocence. "Never." He tried to smirk devilishly but it looked more pained. Voldemort's expression turned to anger. "You WILL die!" he raised his wand. "Avada-" "STUPEFY!" Draco's voice rang in Harry's ears. The Dark Lord cried a broken cry and fell to the ground unconscious but breathing. Harry gasped as the place began to spin. "Harry?" He used his first name. "I'm fine," he smiled at him. Draco smiled back then helped him to his feet. The Death Eaters circled their master's body then looked at the boys and began to head towards them. "Scared Potter?" the Slytherin asked the Gryffindor. "You wish," he gave a challenging smile. They turned at the same time and shouted "EXPELLIARMUS!"
