Aurora
She woke up with a jerk. She laid on the ground with face first, in pain. Her skin felt heavy and her bones, detached from each other. Her head was pounding and she couldn't focus on the rhythm of her heart beat.
After she grounded her herself mentally, she flipped herself limply. She now faced the bleeding orange sky. Placing her palms on the ground firmly, she pulled herself upright. One hand clenched around a fistful of grass, she scanned the fogged forest she lay in the middle of.
Getting on her feet swiftly, the pain settled in her bones. Dorcas wandered in the forest for awhile. This forest brought her feelings she couldn't name but felt like nostalgia. It was the trees and foggy weather. No matter how much she dread the transformation, the thought of the forest brought her comfort. Walking through the forest, she found a denim skirt and long sleeved shirt neatly folded under a tree.
She got dressed and pulled out her flip phone from the back pocket of her skirt. Her lanky fingers covered in specks of mud, pressed the thin buttons of the metal. She found her mother's contact.
"I'm okay. On the way home now", she crafted and sent.
