The black library

In the muggle London hidden with the Fidelius charm, Laid Number 12 Grimmauld Place; The House of Black. It was home to one of the oldest and wealthiest pure-blooded families in Britain, but now it was home to the only person who had ever survived the killing curse, three times…

Harry pushed open the doors to the Black Library. It was ginormous…Located in the right wing of Grimmauld place, full of dozens of books from all over the world in many different languages. The library was hidden by many wards and spells to keep those who didn’t have black blood in them out, Luckily Harry’s great aunt was Dorea Black. The library had two open floors, the books both magical and muggle.

It made Harry chuckle.

Harry darted towards the red long pleated curtains that covered what Sirius calls the “forbidden” door. He pushed his way past them, pulling his metal gold hair pin out of his long hair and pricking his finger. His blood dropped onto the runes laying in front of the door.
The chains fell from the door in a yellow light, the door disintegrating.

Harry pinned his hair back up, scurrying through the entrance into the narrow hall. Constellations stretched through the dark blue halls with planets on the ceiling. As he walked to the end of the hall magic stretched the halls wider, revealing a small, secluded library.

“There you are,” Harry muttered under his breath.

He felt something tugging at his magical core, pulling him towards a black shadow surrounding a book on the left bottom shelf. The moment his fingers touched the book; it hissed at him, a gold snake threw itself out the book, diving into his wrist and disappearing. He shook at his wrist rapidly, the book falling open on the floor.

A shrieking wail echoed throughout the manor.

Sirius and Remus are home…

Harry grabbed the book, shoving it into his pants and ran out the library. Their gonna kill him, Remus is gonna feed him to padfoot-

“Harry?” A gentle voice spoke.

“Moony” Harry turned around smiling to Remus at the top of the stairs.

Remus chuckled. He wasn’t friends with his fellow marauders for nothing. He knew Harry was up to something. Most likely prank before he leaves for Hogwarts in the morning.

“Everything alright, peaches?” Remus questioned, raising his brow.

Harry pouted slightly. No way. Forget it. He’s not gonna make me talk, with his sweet pet names. Harry refused, crossing his arms.

A large black dog tackled Remus to the ground, transforming into Sirius. “This is your chance Harry, Run!”

“Sirius!” Remus huffed, trying to move his body off of him. “Get off! I’m glad that you ate your way back to health since Azkaban, but that is no excuse to eat more than you needed!” Remus grumbled.

“Are you calling me fat?!” Sirius cried. “You didn’t have a problem when i was on top of you last night riding your-”

“Sirius, Harry is right there!” Remus stared at him horrified.

Harry took that moment to escape to his room, locking the door. He shoved the book under his pillow, flopping onto his bed.

That was dangerous…He really seriously loved Sirius. heh

Harry had a feeling Sirius knew what he was up to.

“Can I come in?” Sirius knocked.

“Yes,” Harry sighed, sitting up.

Sirius opened the door slightly, sliding in. “So?” He smiled mischievously.

Harry snorted at him, turning away.

“Oh come onnnnn, what did you take from the library? Is it a spell to give moony donkey ears?”

“Donkey ears?” Harry snickered.

“Harry…is it bad?”

“No”

“Harry?”

“I'm serious”

“Nope” Sirius cut him off, trying to not smile. “Will it hurt you?”

“No” Harry mumbled.

Sirius got close to Harry’s face, pressing his forehead against his. “I’ll lock you in a room with Snivellus if you lied to me, understood?”

“Understood,” Harry gulped nervously.

“Good!” Sirius cheered. “Ready for a bedtime story?”

“Yes!” He smiled eagerly, getting under the covers.

Sirius sat at the edge of Harry’s bed, getting comfortable.

“Now then, Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by the four greatest witches and wizards of the age. Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. Three of the founders coexisted quite harmoniously…one did not.”

“Why not?” The green-eyed-boy questioned, slipping off his glasses.

The man telling the story grinned as he mocked the wary expression his godson had on his face.

“You see Harry, Salazar Slytherin had wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed magical learning should be kept within all magical families. In other words, Purebloods.”

“I’m guessing the others didn’t agree?”

“Exactly! Slytherin was unable to sway the rest of them, so he decided to leave the school. Now from what Minnie had told me-”

“Minnie?” Harry grinned. “I Wasn't aware you liked older women, Sirius.”

Sirius smacked Harry in the face with the pillow from beneath his head. “My relationship with Minnie was completely platonic, I was her student for Merlin's sake!”

“Got it! Keep going” Harry exclaimed, jumping into his godfather’s lap.

“You know you're turning eleven soon, you're going to weigh the size of a whale.” Sirius snickered and cleared his throat. “Like I was saying, there was a legend that Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in this castle, known as the chamber of secrets. He sealed it until the time when his own true heir returned to the school.”

“Did the Heir come?”

Sirius got up and tucked Harry under the covers. “That is the story for another time. It’s time for you to sleep.”

“Wait a minute! What was in the chamber?” He inquired.

“Well, it was said to be home to something only the heir of Slytherin can control, the home of a monster and the heir alone would be able to open the chamber to release the horror within. It would purge the school of all those who, in Slytherin’s view, were unworthy to study magic.”

Harry frowned. “The Muggleborns and Half-bloods” Good to know nothing has changed, he thought sarcastically.

“If you ask me, I think Slytherin was jealous because Ravenclaw had the hots for Gryffindor.” Sirius snorted, kissing his forehead.
A pillow hit the door as Sirius closed it, cackling.

It's been so long since Harry heard that story...

He pulled the covers over his head and pulled the journal out from under his pillow. Harry gulped, before unbuckling the clasp around it. If Sirius knew he stole it out of the Black library then-...well, he wouldn't know what Sirius would do. Sirius was never harsh with Harry; however, Remus was something else entirely.

Harry didn’t really understand the political hierarchy in the wizarding world, bonkers right? He’s over 59 years old and he still doesn’t understand the blood prejudice. For some odd reason Walburga Black was fond of him; She didn’t even like him while he lived here before, but now she’s been telling all about Black family tree and his magical inheritance gifts. It was the only reason he didn’t mind her screeching…or perhaps he got used to it.

Sirius had cleared out all of the portraits except Walburga’s, thanks to a lovely permanent sticking charm. Harry didn’t get a chance to see go in his godfather’s room though, Remus refused to let him because apparently there were inappropriate things. Honestly, if Moony only knew how he kept everything in Sirius’ room for himself when he inherited the home.

Harry chuckled and Shaked his head, focusing on the book Infront of him.

It’s not as if he deliberately took it, he just felt pulled towards it.

Opening it to the first page, his eyes widened in amazement. It was written in parseltongue. When Padfoot heard he could speak parseltongue he was in shock; Moony understood though, from what he was told by Dumbledore, Voldemort transferred some of his power into Harry the night he “killed” him. Remus was hesitant to tell Harry about Voldemort, but Sirius insisted to tell him for his protection.

Harry huffed. Please! I should tell Remmy and Sirius about how Dumbledore was planning my death from the start.

The book was filled with spells that were mostly dark, well at least Harry thought so. Spells for suffocating someone with a snake venom vaporizer, is not what he would call light. Harry snorted; The stigma around Dark magic never made sense to him. Dumbledore had told him Dark magic harms others, but so can using a bombarda; which is a light spell on others. He believed it's how you use magic entirely, that shows who we really are, not the branch of it.

Just as Harry was about to turn the page, the door creaked open.

Harry flung the book across the room into his closet, smiling innocently at Remus.

“Why aren't you sleeping?” Remus inquired.

“I’m too excited to sleep moony.” Harry muttered sheepishly. He didn't exactly lie…he was too excited about two very important things.

The book and-

“Ah, your first day at Hogwarts” Remus chuckled softly. “Though if you're too excited to sleep, you’ll be too busy trying to stay awake during the hat sorting ceremony.”

“Moony…did you think I’m a bad person for not believing we should separate different branches of magic?” Harry mumbled, playing with his fingers.

Harry was aware he was behaving quite childish. What was he supposed to do? It's not as if he ever had a chance to be one. Now that he was young again and Remmy and Siri weren't aware he would milk this as much as he could. Besides…it's not as if he wasn’t curious about his family's view on different branches of magic.

“Oh. of course, not Harry,” Remus frowned, moving to sit on the side of the bed. “You have such an inquisitive mind Harry, it comes from your mother” He smiled wistfully, stroking Harry’s hair.

Harry perked up scooching towards Remus. He loved hearing about his parents, he knew his godfather had a hard time mistaking him from his father since his first life. Harry didn’t mind, he was glad he reminded Sirius so much of his father. Sometimes Harry would think those times he felt loving himself, he was feeling the ghost of his parents' love flowing through him.

Remus smiled at Harry; tucking him into the covers and fluffing his pillow, as Harry whined.

“But moony-”

“I’ll tell you more about your mother before you leave for Hogwarts in the morning, and who knows you may have a special dream of her tonight.” Remus grinned mysteriously, shutting the door behind him.

Harry yawned tiredly, snuggling deeper into the covers. He was too tired to figure out what moony meant.
