Chapter 1
Summary: One evening Dakota receives a message from someone. A message that one of her classmates is being ostracized. Dakota starts to correspond with him while skipping classes. Will Dakota be able to have something with that boy? (All 10th Grade, High School)
Dakota had come home from school as usual. She loved her new class. One of her friends, Heather, had made a class group and got everyone in, or so Dakota thought.
Dakota gossiped a bit with her sister. She was glad that her sister got along well with her class. 9th grade is tough but she was glad that she made friends early. Afterwards, the girls had dinner together. Her sister went out with her boyfriend Mark an hour later. Dakota was going to stay home tonight. Maybe she would study if she was bored, who knows?
Dakota played a few games on her tablet. The games were fun. She played Subway Surfers, Disney Heroes Battle Mode, and other fun games. After that, she played Brawl Stars for a bit. She had a lot of fun hitting everyone with Piper. After that, she decided to study for a bit.
Dakota closed her tablet and went to her phone. There was a notification from her class group. Heather had sent the new class schedule.
Dakota wrote to Heather , "Thanks bestiee 33." Heather replied, "You're welcome bestieee 333."
Dakota liked Heather and her other friends. There were popular girls, boys, and a variety of other people in the class. Dakota thought maybe she would date one of the good-looking ones. She hoped so.
Dakota turned off her phone after finishing her conversation with Lindsay. Just as she was about to start studying, a notification came from her phone. Dakota was annoyed when she got notifications when she was supposed to be studying. Dakota groaned and picked up her phone. The notifications showed a message from a stranger.
"(Foreign Person)"
"Hi, I'm Sam. My classmates didn't like me so they didn't let me into their group."
"I don't have much social media, but if you have anything about your classes, can you send it to me?"
"P.S. Sorry to bother you."
Dakota felt a little touched by the message.
Dakota didn't know what to say to the person who had messaged her, but she didn't want to show it either. That would be rude.
Dakota asked the stranger, "Okay, your name is Sam, right?"
The other person also responded.
"Yeah, my name is Sam."
Dakota saved him in her numbers. Now she had a responsibility. She would send the class news to someone named Sam.
Dakota didn't recognize Sam, she was surprised they were even in the same class. She didn't even remember seeing him.
Dakota was about to hang up when she remembered the class schedule Heather had sent her. She quickly sent the class schedule to Sam, who texted back, "Thanks."
Dakota smiled. She didn't know Sam, but he was definitely a kind person.
Dakota didn't know what he looked like, but she thought that such a polite person would be a good type.
Dakota started writing to Sam.
"Where do you live?"
"Are you asking about my home?"
"No, just where do you sit in class?
"The very back row. The one in the very corner :(("
Dakota felt bad.
"I can sit with you if you want."
"Really? But I can't do that to you, I'm not that good :(("
"Come on, I'm sure you're fine. Don't underestimate yourself. Also, if you ever want to talk to someone, you can talk to me. Don't be shy."
"Thanks, Dakota. For being my friend."
Dakota smiled.
"You're welcome, Sam."
"I have to go to bed now. Good night Dakota."
"Good night, Sam."
Then Dakota hung up.
Dakota felt warm. Was she blushing?
Dakota looked in the mirror. She was blushing.
Dakota didn't understand why she was blushing, but she did her daily facials to distract herself.
Dakota then got ready for bed. A few minutes later her sister Daisy came home. She told her sister about where she and her boyfriend had gone that night. Dakota was very happy for them but she had never found a boyfriend herself.
Dakota smiled at her sister and blushed.
Daisy noticed her sister blushing.
"Dak, is something wrong?"
"What? Why do you ask?"
Dakota asked her sister Daisy in slight surprise.
"I don't know, you look a little flushed."
"Ohh... I don't know, I think one of the creams gave me an allergic reaction on my face."
"Of course, hunnn!"
Daisy said, nudging her sister.
"Anyway, I'm going to bed now. I think you should do the same, sister."
"Fine whatever. Good night Dak, I love you."
"I love you too Daisy, good night."
The two girls lay down in their seats.
Dakota felt strange, like this feeling was... so foreign. Dakota thought about it, but tried to sleep. It would pass in the morning... right?
Dakota slept and... thought about the boy she was writing to. I wonder what his type was? Was he dark or brown? I wonder if he was blonde like her? I wonder if he was tall? Did he have 6-inch abs? I wonder if he was handsome? These questions made Dakota extremely nervous. If that boy had these qualities, she would get married tomorrow. I mean, they would at least date, but if not... that was an unknown possibility.
Dakota ignored the possibility and continued sleeping. Whoever that kid was, it was a new adventure for Dakota.
Dakota was ready for this adventure.
(To be continued)
Note: This was going to be a short fic but it turned into a series. If I continue this with instant inspirations, it could turn into a good fic but if I can't, it will end up like "You're Dependent on Me". I originally planned this as Samkota but I also thought of Staci as an alternative. Dakota would also find love with this texting incident. Her friendship with Heather could also be shaken. I don't want to make things bad between my two favorites but whatever. See you in the next chapter, I love you 333
