Moonie
For the rest of the day, Remus dragged Moonie around with him, holding on tightly to the worn-down blanket and to Lily’s hand.
Unfortunately, they had lessons that day, which meant that they had to decide who Remus would stay with.
Lily, James, Mary, Chris, Peter and Marlene were all good options.
Sirius was not, and that tore him up inside.
Fuck you, Regulus Black
Sirius zoned out when they were discussing who Remus should stay with. In the end, they decided that he would be going with Lily, solely because of how he refused to let go of her hand.
Eventually, they all ended up going down to breakfast, and having another run-in with Sirus’s ex-brother.
“How’re you holding up in there, Moony?” Regulus asked, mocking concern. “Still a bit foggy?”
“Yeah… What’s going on? Who are you?” Remus turned towards Lily, still gripping her hand. “Mummy, who is that?”
“Oh, aren’t you just precious.” Regulus smirks, leaning down and resting his hands on his knees.
“Leave me alone.” Remus says assertively, a little bit of the old Moony returning. “I… don’t want you here.”
“Bit feisty, are we?”
“Fuck off.” James steps forward, “Leave him alone. You’ve done enough.”
“Oh, Potters getting defensive of the six-year-old.” Regulus is full-on mocking them now. “Now are you going to start defending the stupid blanket?”
“Moonie is not stupid!” Sirius interjects, “Besides, you’re one to talk Mr. Senor Rabbit will never leave my side. Still have him, do you?”
Regulus’s face blushed a light shade of pink. He turned and strutted away, muttering under his breath.
James snorted, “Does he really have a rabbit named ‘Senor Rabbit’?”
Sirius shook his head. “No. It’s a snake, actually.”
Peter choked on his own spit, “It’s a snake? He has a snake named Senor Rabbit?”
“All in one, Pete.”
“I will always use that against him now.” James mutters under his breath.
“Grant, I’m hungry.” Remus informs them.
“Senor Rabbit.” James murmurs quietly, shaking his head.
