After the two teachers had left, Remus spoke up, “Grant… would you please come? I miss you.” He was beginning to cry.
Sirius clenched his fists and watched as every single person in the room's heart broke. Lily wiped a tear away from her cheek.
James looked over at Sirius, looking for reassurance, before smiling sadly, “Of course mate. Let me just get changed.”
Remus stopped crying and smiled. “Okay Grant.” He said, sinking deeper into the blankets. “G’night.”
“Night.” The rest of the group muttered solemnly.
James wandered over to the dresser, and grabbed some pajamas, heading into the bathroom, but not before saying, “You lot should go downstairs. I doubt any of us are going to get any sleep tonight.”
As they made their way out of the room, Lily hesitated. She caught Sirius's eye and gave him a quiet, almost imperceptible nod—an unspoken promise that they would all be there for Remus, no matter how hard it got.
