It’s not gonna work, MJ tells herself. They come from radically different countries, different worlds, with huge geographical and cultural gaps between them. Shuri’s a fucking princess, for crying out loud. 

And maybe that’s what makes it possible for MJ to take Shuri’s hand; the surety that it won’t last, so she doesn’t have worry about scary stuff like commitment or feelings.  

Except every once in a while, Shuri says or does something that makes MJ’s heart flutter in a way she doesn’t understand and can’t control. And it worries her…just not enough for her to want it to stop.
