Chapter 9
Everyone gathered back into the main hall, its been a few months since the twins started taking flight lessons and they've gotten really good at it, Mari was extremely proud of the two and decided that they didn't need lessons anymore after new years.
On new years, Dumbledore gave a speech about something called The Tri-Wizard Tournament, which was supposed to have taken place in October but was pushed back because of something happening at the one of the other schools, so they rescheduled it for February, which was today.
"So two more schools will be coming here?" Sun asks.
Chica nods, "Yep! The Durmstrang school for Wizards and Beauxbatons school for Witches, one person from each school will be chosen to go against three challenges."
"And that Goblet thing chooses who?" Moon jerks his head to the Goblet of Fire in front of the teachers table.
"Exactly that," Freddy says, "you know, Monty and Chica had participated in the Tournament before."
"And failed..." Chica pouts, "the dragons and mermaids didn't like me."
"They don't like anyone," Monty says as he and Roxy walk over to the Hufflepuff table, not sitting, but leaning on the table instead, "mermaids only like themselves, like ego-maniac" he jerks his head to Roxy.
"Excuse you but I would have been fantastic at the Tournament," Roxy says, "I could have convinced the mermaids I was a beautiful angel and they'd let me go, which is why I put my name into the Goblet a few weeks ago."
"So you're a floating eye ball with feathers?"
"I swear to She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named I will fucking bury you."
" 'She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named'?" Sun tilts their head, "Who're-"
Dumbledore claps his hands and everyone leaves back to their tables, once everyone was set and quiet, he began to speak.
"I know you all are just as thrilled as I am for this years Tri-Wizards Tournament," He says, his voice echoing throughout the hall, "Apologies for the delay, but I am pleased to say that today will be the day we find out who will be chosen for the Tournament!"
Sun spotted the two other schools flood in and stand around the hall, along the wall and down in between the house tables.
Dumbledore walks over to the Goblet and holds a hand out, the flames dance and flicker around before turning blue and shooting out a piece of scrunched up paper, Dumbledore catches it mid air and opens the paper.
"Fleur Delacour!" Dumbledore yells out, the girls in blue uniform from Beauxbatons all cheer and hug the girl who was chosen.
Dumbledore sticks his hand out to the fire again, dancing and turning blue, another burned paper flies out.
"Victor Krum!"
Again, cheers from the Wizard school, Drumstrang all give pats and fist-bumps to their chosen classmate.
Dumbledore holds his arm out one more time for the final contestant, the paper flies out and he reads it out.
"Roxanne Wolf!"
The whole school of Hogwarts cheer as one of their most favourite classmates and schoolmates were chosen from their school, Sun was so happy for Roxy giving her a large wave, Moon had to hold Suns arm to stop them from running to Roxy and giving her the biggest hug ever.
Dumbledore puts the paper down, "Now that our contestants have been chosen, could the three of you join me up here."
Fleur, Viktor and Roxy all get up and make their way to Dumbledore, standing in front of him with pride in their faces.
"I want to remind you three that this isn't game, its a deadly campaign to who will reach the top, not only that but you're all representing your schools."
The fire flickers some for and dances around unusually, everyone faces the Goblet and watches as the flames turn blue once more, firing something out of it, Dumbledore takes it and sees its another burned paper, opening it he is met with shock.
"Sundrop..." he mumbles, the three students being the only ones to hear him at the time, Roxys blood turned cold, turning around and looking directly at Sun, who looked confused.
"Sundrop!" Dumbledore yells, not like before, Suns breath gets caught and their heart stops, but he still went to stand up, pushing off the table and taking a few steps before their arm gets caught.
"No way!" Moon growls, "No way in hell are you going!"
"Moondrop, let him go" Dumbledore says.
"As if!" Moon yells, turning to the other Hogwarts students, "Which one of you fuckers put their name in there?" He yells, getting no response, "Tell me!" He yells again, his eyes roll back into his head and his grip leaves Sun arm, falling forward and being caught by Freddy.
Dumbledore had his arm out to the twins, having put a sleep spell on Moon, he motions Sun to come over, Sun swallows nervously and takes a deep breath as he walks to the Professor, clinging to Roxys arm.
Dumbledore hands them all their papers, "We will meet in the potions room."
The four students leave the main hall with yells and disagreements from the Hogwarts students, calling Sundrop a cheat and that they weren't even 15 yet, which he's not, he's not even 12, whats going to happen to him?!
Roxy lead them all down to the dungeon and to the potions room, opening the door and letting the others in, Sun had a death grip on Roxys arm but she didn't say anything, no matter how badly it hurt her she didn't want to worry Sun more.
She leads the boy to the wall and sets him down to the floor, changing from her arm to her hand, squeezing it like a stress toy.
"It'll be ok, Sunflower" Roxy says.
Poor Sun was shaking and felt like ice, Roxy knew they'd never try to get into anything like this, it is a rule to never get an older student to put your name in for you and Roxy knows Sun would rather die then break a rule.
Hurried footsteps could be heard at the other side of the wall, the door slams open and Mari comes running in, whipping their head around until they lay eyes on Sun, running over and sitting on their knees, pulling Sun into a hug.
"Oh strings... what happened? Who put your name in there?" Mari says.
Sun shakes his head, "I...I don't know... b-b-but I didn't-"
"We know," Mari says, Dumbledore, McGonagall, Sprout and Snape had entered shortly after, "We know you would never, don't panic."
"But there is panic, Puppet," Snape says slowly, "the boy has no choice but to participate, its the law and a rule of the Goblet."
Mari looks over their shoulder, "I could talk to Fudge and get Sun out of it!"
"Its fine..."
Mari looks back down to Sun, "But you could get badly hurt, Droplet... I don't want you to hurt yourself."
"Its not like I've never been hurt before," Sun looks up to Mari's worried face, "And I want to prove that I'm just as strong as Moony, they're always helping me defend myself and I want to show him and everyone else that I can defend myself... even before here they protect me from everything..."
Mari wants to argue so badly but they knew Sun wouldn't give up, from what he said he sounds deadly serious, to prove to others he's not weak and Snape saying its a rule probably added to it all a little.
Mari tightens their hug a little, "You're so brave, Sunshine... you know Moon isn't going to accept this so quickly."
Sun giggles, "I know, but its tuff and they'll have to just deal with it."
Moon can't deal with it. After Dumbledore had explained the rules and the first challenge of the tournament to everyone in the potions room, they all went back to their rooms, when Sun walked in they saw Freddy holding Moon back with all his strength to keep the boy from running, he felt bad but he had to so they wouldn't barge into the potions room.
When Freddy saw Sun enter the room, he accidentally let Moon go, they sprint away from Freddy and ram into Sun, hugging them as tight as possible like he'd vanish at any moment.
"Moony?" Sun says.
"Are you insane?!" Moon grabs Suns face, "You want to join the tournament?! You don't have to prove anything! Especially if your lives on the line!"
"How did-... Oh" Sun still had the transmission ring on, so Moon heard everything Sun had said.
"He just flipped out suddenly," Freddy says, "I assumed he heard everything so I kept him from leaving..."
Sun frowns, he knew Moon wouldn't be happy with his choice, especially with the threat behind it, but he wants to do this, not only to show he's strong but show himself that anything is possible if you try hard enough and put your mind to it.
"Its not that I have to do it," Sun says slowly, "I want to do it, maybe I could turn it into a fun experience, besides... its a rule."
Moons eyes widen but soften after not to long, "And we can never break the rules..." they say quietly.
"And its not like we can't have fun during it, in between times when a challenge isn't on we can still do things together!" Sun says, trying to show the positive side of things, "Remember we wanted to try the thing outside?"
Moon nods and lets Suns face go, "I do... I'm sorry I flipped out, but if anything happens I'm pulling you out."
"Thats fine," Sun smiles, pressing their forehead to Moons, "Thank you..."
"Just know I don't like this," Moon pulls his head back, "I mean we don't even know whats to come."
"And we can't tell you either," Freddy says, "They change them sometimes so the challenges might not even be what I say, but they don't start for another week so you've got time."
Suns face light up, "Then we have time! Do you know where a big box is, Freddy?"
"A big box?" Freddy questions, "Filtch might have one in his office, but its best to ask a teacher to check for you, Filtch can be a bit rude at times."
Sun grabs Moons hand, "Come on! Lets go find one!" And runs out the common room, shouting a 'thank you' and 'bye' to Freddy before the door closed.
Freddy disapparates to the rest of the Glamrocks, who were back in the Main Hall, sitting at the Slytherin table.
"How are they both?" Chica asks worriedly.
"Surprisingly ok," Freddy says, sitting with the rest, "they talked for a bit and everything seemed to be ok, they took off afterwards to find a box."
"A box? Random" Monty says.
"Are you sure Sun seemed alright?" Roxy asks.
"He did, well, to me at least" Freddy says.
"No one would just accept something like that so quickly, no matter their motive and just magically be ok with it," Roxy says, "My arms killing me, either kids got some grip or it was fright, or both I dunno."
"I guess we'll find out when the time comes," Monty says, "you're the one with the advantage here."
"Whys that?" Roxy asks.
"You're an Animagus, being a Wolf has got to have its advantages, can't it?"
"Well yeah but for some things its a disadvantage, like water or fire, I can't just doggie paddle or get my fur too close."
"If you did get set on fire then you'd really be a wolf," Monty smirks, "you'd go 'Whoof!'"
Chica slams a fist into the table in shook, "Thats horrible!"
“What’s horrible is how Krum treated you last time,” Monty says, “Guys a git.”
Chica shivers at the memories, “Don’t remind me, if he had a thing for me or not, no way in hell am I giving him the attention he wants.”
“Want me to bite his legs off?” Roxy asks, Chica giggles and shakes her head.
“Its a good thought, but no, thank you Roxy.”
“Didn’t you almost tear his hand off last time?” Freddy asks.
Roxy nods with a proud expression on her face, “4 months of Detention was so worth it, I don’t regret shit.”
Freddy shakes his head, such foul language.
“Where did Sun and Moon run off to then? Did they say?” Roxy asks.
“No idea, but Sun did ask for that box, maybe they’re still looking for one?”
Monty stands with his hands still on the table, “Last to find them has to buy everyone else butterbeers!” Then takes off running.
Everyone else shoots up and sprints out the hall, ignoring the looks and yells from others to not run in the halls, but they don’t want to use their money so they will do as they please.
Freddy first checked with Filtch to ask if the twins had asked for a box which they had, they had asked Flitwick to get permission from Filtch to go into his office and grab the biggest box they could find, then took off again, Freddy thanked Filtch and ran to find Flitwick, hopefully he knew what they were planning to do with the box.
Roxy ran through all the halls and checked every room she ran pasted, it being a classroom, bathroom or even broom closet it didn’t matter, if it had a door, it was her look, but she opened a cleaning closet and a very heavy bucket fell and landed straight on her foot, she let out an animal like yelp and shook the pain off, shoving the bucket back in and slamming the door, continuing her search.
Monty ran around and asked everyone he passed if they had seen them, some saying no, some saying they just passed a few minutes ago and pointing to where they had left too, and some saying they didn’t care, he didn’t care for those ones either and followed the helpful ones directions, it would be embarrassing if he was the one to loose after he was the one to start this hunt.
Monty ran around a corner and saw Chica looking out one of the windows, her elbows leaning on the brick windowsill.
“Given up all ready?” Monty walks over to Chica who puts a finger over her lips, motioning Monty to walk over and points out the window.
He walks over and looks out the glassless window, Sun and Moon had just left Hagrids hut with the giant following behind them, Fang running around their legs and up the hill they were walking up, Sun dragging a big cardboard box behind him.
“I guess you won then” Monty says.
“It wasn’t that hard,” Chica says, but outside was the first place I looked so that helped greatly.”
“Did you find them?” Roxy runs over and looks out the window after Chica again, pointed out of it, “What’re they doing?”
“We dunno” Monty shrugs.
Freddy was the last one to show up only a few seconds after Roxy, seeing the other Glamrocks together made him sigh in defeat, looks like he’s paying.
“Took your time, Fazbear” Monty says.
“I know I know, who found them first?” Freddy asks.
“I did,” Chica says, “I was sure Roxy would find them first to begin with, she has her good sense of smell.”
“My snooter doesn’t work that well anymore” Roxy crosses her arms and pouts.
Monty snickers, “Not after you ran face first into that wall.”
Roxy growls and goes to say something, but her words never left her mouth as she saw the twins and Hagrid had made it up the hill.
Sun puts the box at the edge of the hill, they and Moon climb inside with Moon at the front and Sun behind them, Hagrid grabbed the edge of the box.
“Yer ready?” He asks.
Moon nods and Sun give a thumbs up, “Lets go!!!” Sun cheers.
Hagrid pushes the box off of the hill with a harsh spin to it, the twins fly down the hill in a rapid spinning motion, their cheerful cries could be heard from the window, they get to the bottom in no time as the box tips over, sending Sun and Moon flying out and onto their back, both laughing uncontrollably.
Hagrid had rolled down the hill himself, laying on his side and rolling to join the twins at the bottom, landing also on his back, he gets up as the twins start climbing on top of him, Sun holding his arm and being lifted a few feet from the ground, hanging like a monkey of a branch, and Moon had climbed up Hagrids back and onto his shoulders.
“Aww, look at them,” Chica says, resting her head in her hands, “Its nice to see them having fun, I don’t think I’ve ever seen them laugh before.”
“I don’t think any of us have,” Freddy says, “its good to see them being kids, even with all they’ve been through, they’re trying to push and overcome it, they’re strong kids.”
