Chapter 7
Being in a school full of loud mouths, what happened Sunday night spread across the school, and fast.
Sun and Moon couldn't go anywhere without being stared at, it was different from the other stares they've been giving... they felt different...
Sun hid behind Moon as they walked, thanks to Moons scowl towards people he saw staring or whispering about them, they would shut up or look away, it helped Sun felt safer.
They get to the main hall and Sun fumbles to grab Moons hand, they find it and they squeeze their hand tight, Moon squeezes back and they walk down the hall, a lot of people stopped what they were doing or talking about to look at the twins, Sun would give anything to run and hide away.
"+~This was a bad idea...~+"
"+-It'll be fine, Sunshine, I'm here, they wouldn't dare do or say anything to you-+"
Apparently Moon spoke too soon and those two third years from their first day stood up and stopped in front of the twins, the two who locked Sun in a closet.
"Well well well, what do we have here?" Ry crosses his arms, "Scawed of a wittle nightmawe?" He says mockingly.
"+~Moony please... let's just go...~+"
"Looks like big bad first year is just a whimp, something happens to you and you freeze up wike a wittle babwy."
Sun feels Moons hand loose it's grip and slide away, Sun grips tighter to keep in from leaving.
"Say that again," Moon growls, his sharp shark like teeth showing for a second, "I dare you."
"+~Moon please, take your own advice, just ignore them and let's go...~+"
Moon listens and grips Suns hand again, pushing past Ry and Brandon to keep on walking.
"Aww, where ya goin'? Gonna cry about your little nightmares, you pathetic, pieces of shit!"
Moon pulls Sun back and starts walking back to the main hall doors.
"+-You were right, we never should've come here, I'm sorry I didn't listen to you-+"
Sun picks up the pace and walks faster to try and hide behind Moon, they get out the main hall and turn a few corners before Sun could feel his legs start to give in.
Moon stops walking and helps Sun sit down, Sun uses the wall behind him to lean back.
"I'm sorry..." Moon says, "I really should of listened to you..."
"It's fine Moony," Sun rubs the back on Moons hand with his thumb, "I'm proud of you for not lashing out and attacking them."
Moon sits next to Sun, "Can't stand some people..."
Sun gives a small smile, "How much you wanna bet both sides of their pillow are warm?"
Moon gives a small laugh, "That would explain a lot."
Sun gives a small giggle and leans on Moons side, "Moony?"
"Hm?"
"Do you ever miss the other world?"
"You mean the place where people have no magic?"
"Mhmm, I know we couldn't really go outside a lot, but do you?"
Moon thinks about it for a second, "I guess so, it got us out the house, why'd you ask?"
"I miss it, the air, the stores, the parks, playgrounds, I hope one day we could actually go to one, do you think they'd let us?"
"I'm not sure, maybe."
They heard footsteps from around the corner, they jump but relax when they see it's only the Glamrocks.
"Are you two ok?" Freddy asks, sitting on his knees in front of the two.
"Yeah, we're fine" Sun says.
"Those two are douchebags, even their first year they were trouble" Monty says.
Sun nods, "yeah... we know."
"Would you two like to do something?" Freddy asks, "Dumbledore has given all of us a free day today, so we can do something fun to keep your minds of it?"
"Actually," Sun says, "can we go to the non magic world?"
"The Muggle world?" Roxy says, "Why would you want to go there?"
"Well... it's where we lived, and we never really got to do anything other then see the things around us," Sun says, "maybe we could go there and go to playgrounds and parks..."
The Glamrocks exchange glances, Freddy looks back to the twins, "I'm sure we could, only if we don't use magic, we should be fine."
Suns face lights up, "When can we go?"
"We could go whenever, might want to change into more comfortable clothing," Freddy smiles, "we shouldn't stand out too much."
They all leave to their common rooms and change out of their robes and into more casual clothes, Freddys right, if they went out in robes they would stand out a lot.
They thought about leaving their wands behind but thought against it, they didn't think it would be a good idea to leave them behind, even if they couldn't use them it felt better to keep them with.
They all meet up again and sneakily disapparate behind a building in the muggle world, so no one would see them, thankfully no one was around until the left to the front of the building, people flooding the streets.
Sun bounces as they walk, "I'm so excited! Where should we go first?"
Moon looks around, "Where was that field? That was around here somewhere wasn't it?"
Sun gasps, "you're right! This way!" Sun takes off running unexpectedly, the others run to keep up with them.
Suns directions were right, they ran directly to a field park with a playground, Sun ran into the field and dived to the ground, rolling around in the grass.
Sun rolls to his back and lays like a starfish, "There's so much space!"
Moon runs over to Sun, "There's a playground too."
Sun sits up, "Where?"
Moon holds out a hand and Sun grabs it, Moon pulls Sun to their feet and points to the playground, Sun beams and runs, forgetting he was still holding Moons hand, Moon stumbles but saves himself from falling.
The Glamrocks smiles and walk to the playground, Sun and Moon already inside.
"They're really excited about this, it's cute" Chica says.
"They've probably never been to a playground before" Monty says.
Roxy hits Montys arm, "Don't bring it up, Crocs, let them enjoy this."
"Its not Cro-" Monty takes a breath, "fuck you."
Roxy smirks as they keep walking, reaching the playground and see Sun and Moon on the monkey bars, Moon was on top on the bars and Sun was hanging upside down with their knees on the bar to keep themselves from falling.
"You two got up there quick" Freddy says.
"It's not exactly hard" Moon says.
"For us anyway" Sun adds.
"We will be on the benches over there ok? We won't be far" Freddy says, then joins the others at the benches not to far away.
They've been at the park for a long while, possibly 2 - 3 hours? They haven't been keeping up with the time.
A few kids and one or both of their parents have come and gone from the park, one of the kids there had been dropped off by her Mom and her Mom left straight after, saying she'll be back soon and then just leaving.
The girl was on her own and looked nervous to ask the other kids to play, she only looked to be 5 or 6 years, Sun and Moon felt bad so they asked if the girl wanted to play hide and seek, her face light up with happiness and agreed to play, Sun and Moon told her their names and she replied that her name was Minireena.
They played a few games of hide and seek, taking turns on being the seeker, first it was Sun, then Moon, the Minireena, she asked them both before playing if they could hide with her and they agreed to do so.
Right now, Minireena and Moon were hiding inside the play structure, a latter to their left and a slide to their right, so if Sun comes up they have two ways to escape.
"I'm gonna find you!" Sun calls out playfully.
Minireena covers her mouth to quiet her giggling, but that turned into a small scream when Sun appeared at the ladder side.
"Boo!" Sun slams his hands on the wooden structure.
Moon quickly tells Minireena to go down the slide and run, she does and slides down with Moon behind her once she got up.
Sun chases them around the playground until he catches up and wraps his arms around Minireena and picks her up into a spin, she screams and then laughs as she is span.
Sun puts Minireena back down and whispers, "Go get Moon, he's right there."
She nods and runs to Moon, he doesn't run but instead acts surprised when he sees Minireena running towards him, she jumps and grabs Moon who then slowly falls to sit on the ground on purpose.
"I got you!" Minireena calls.
"You got me" Moon says.
Minireena steps back and Moon stands up, "Can I seek now?" She asks.
"Of course you can" Sun says.
Sun and Moon run to hide while Minireena looks away to count to 10, they had also agreed that Sun and Moon would hide together, well, an agreement made by twins to make it easier for Minireena.
Minireena only counts to 5 when someone calls out to her, Sun and Moon heard it too but it didn't sound like her Mom.
"Hey! Your Mom told me to pick you up" A middle aged man walks into the playground, looking directly at Minireena.
"Who are you?" She asks, taking a step back as the man gets closer.
"Im a friend of your moms, she wanted me to pick you up" the man says, reaching out and grabbing Minireena by the wrist, "Come on, let's go."
Minireena tries to pull her hand back but the mans grip gets tighter.
"Get off me! I don't know you!" She yells as she struggles to get her hand back.
"Shut up!" The man snaps.
Minireena begs and cries to let her go but the man pulls her in and wraps her with his other arm.
"Help m!-" the man covers her mouth.
Moon jumps and kicks the man in the face, might of accidentally flew to get to that hight but it doesn't matter, the man looses his grip on Minireena and Sun pulls her back, she turns and squeezes Sun in a hug, Sun hugging back.
Moon kicks off the man and lands just in front of Sun and Minireena, the man stumbles back and grabs his face, looking at his hand and seeing blood, his face turns red in anger.
"You stupid brat!" The man goes to punch but Moon dodges before it hit, bending down Moon dives through the mans legs and kicks the back of the mans knees, sending him to the ground.
Moon swings their legs up and over to stand back up and runs back to Sun and Minireena, both twins guarding the crying girl.
One of the on lookers had called the police and they turned up in no time, arresting the man.
Sun, Moon and Minireena are with the Glamrocks, she hasn't let Sun go since, one of the police officers had called her Mom and told her what happened so she will be on her way by now.
Minireena was still crying softly into Suns shirt, Sun patting her head and speaking quietly and softly to try and calm her down.
"Shh, it's ok now," Sun says, "The mans gone and your Mom is on her way, you're safe now."
Sun knew that Moon was better at this kind of thing, but she refuses to let go so Sun does the best they can, Moon sits on their knees and tries to talk to Minireena, she turns her head slightly for Moon to see one of her eyes, her cheeks wet with tears, Moon wipes her cheek with his thumb and repeats the same words Sun had said.
Minireena had seemed to calm down a little, tears still falling slowly but her cries turned into small sniffs, her grip on Sun had loosened slightly.
Sun sits on his knees with Moon so they're both the same height as Minireena, "It's all fine now, we promise."
She screws her eyes shut and falls into the twins for a group hug, they hug her back to drill into her mind that she is safe and the man won't be coming back.
"Minireena!" Her Mom comes running into the playground, Sun and Moon let the girl go and she runs to her Mom for another hug, the Mom was crying, "Oh thank god, my baby."
Sun and Moon stand up and give each other a sad smile, it makes them feel good and happy to know that some parents actually love and care for their children.
The Mom sits on one knee and grabs her child's face gently, "What happened? Did someone help you? Were you hurt?"
Minireena shakes her head, "No Mama I'm not hurt, the man said he was your friend but he didn't look like Ennard or anyone, he grabbed me but my two new friends helped me."
"Can you point out who your friends are?" The Mom asks, Minireena turns and points to Sun and Moon.
The Mom picks Minireena up and walks to the twins, "Thank you for helping her, I don't know how to repay you."
"You could start by not leaving your kid at the playground by herself?" Moon shrugs, Sun elbows Moons arm.
"I'm sorry, but it is true, why did you leave her alone?" Sun asks.
"I had to get her a secret birthday gift and no one I knew was free to watch her... it was stupid I understand that, I'm so sorry 'Reena" The Mom says.
"Maybe from now on to repay us, you stay with you daughter when out in public? Is there not a Daycare or Kids Centre around here?" Sun asks.
"Not in these parts no," the Mom shakes her head, "But I'll listen and never leave her alone when out again, seriously thank you both so much."
"Not a problem" Moon says.
The Mom and Minireena turn to leave, Minireena looks over her Moms shoulder, "Bye Sunny! Bye Moony! Thank you for saving and playing with me!"
"Bye 'Reena!" Sun waves their arm and Moon waves normally.
They all think they've been out for too long and find a place to disapparate back to Hogwarts, the walk into the forest behind the playground.
Moon stops something moving and stops walking, Sun stops too and looks in the same direction as Moon.
The Glamrocks stop walking and turn around, "Is everything alright?" Freddy asks.
Without saying a word, Moon starts walking in the direction, the others followed behind, Moon turns behind a tree and when the others look behind it, Moon was on the ground with a cat, sniffing his hand and rubbing its head on it.
"You trusted this animal quicker then a dog, or anything for that matter" Sun says jokingly.
"This thing seems a lot better then dogs, more chilled out" Moon says, the cat moves from Moons hand and climbs onto his knees, rubbing its head on Moons chest.
"You've never seen a cat before either?" Chica asks.
"If this is what a cat is then no" Moon says, petting the cat in his lap.
"We have a cat at home" Freddy says.
"You do?!" Sun and Moon look up to Freddy with wide eyes, "Kept that quiet" Moon adds.
"She doesn't really like people, she's always either outside or in Mari's room, they seem to be the only one the cat likes" Roxy says.
Moon stands up with the cat in arms, "she's coming with us."
"But she might have a-" Chica says.
"Nope, she's coming back with us" Moon interrupts.
"She doesn't seem to have a collar, so she's possibly a stray" Freddy says.
They disapparate back to Hogwarts and appear in the common room, Moon rests the cat on the couch and she lays down to get comfy.
Sun scratches under her neck which the cat approves of, "what are you gonna name her?"
The cat was a tabby but mostly black then grey, Moon scratches the top of her head which she enjoys.
"Luna, I'll call her Luna."
