Chapter 16

Finding Harumasa's memories took longer than Wise thought, so he decided to take both the painting and Harumasa back to his room to rest. After all, the area was a bit dusty, which wasn't good for Harumasa's lungs. The other party was in a coma, so Wise couldn't do anything but wait. Suddenly, he saw Corin running over to tell him the news.

Lycaon was also seriously injured, and both Rina and Ellen were preparing to go to the battlefield.

The news was like a bucket of cold water thrown straight at Wise's face, making him wet and shivering. Even Lycaon, a good fighting thiren, was seriously injured by the knights from the Aku Empire.

He couldn't just sit and watch anymore.

.

"Brother, have you thought it through?"

Belle hurriedly chased after Wise, she had heard from the servant that her brother would personally lead the soldiers to the battlefield, confronting the knights from the Aku Empire. She really didn't want her brother to go somewhere where she couldn't see him, she was afraid that tomorrow when she woke up she would hear the news that he was seriously injured from her servants.

"I've thought it over. While I'm gone, please keep an eye on Harumasa for me."

Wise was about to get on the horse when Belle hurriedly hugged his waist, she buried her face in his back, and burst into tears. They were twins, they were obviously very close to each other. Wise knew that Belle was afraid of losing him, but in reality, in this situation, if he didn't go to war now, would he wait until the kingdom collapsed under the empire's hands? He couldn't just stay and wait like this. If he couldn't even protect his own family, then when he ascended the throne, would he be able to protect anyone else.

"Belle, don't worry. I'll be back."

Wise smiled lightly, gently removing Belle's hands from his waist and holding her two hands, affirming once again.

"I will show them that the Eridu Kingdom is not a weak kingdom. And I will not let them be complacent anymore."

Belle sobbed, her face full of tears, she rarely shed so many tears. Only when something happened to people close to her, she cried like that.

"Please... Come back...."

"Okay, I promise."

After a while, Belle slowly let go of Wise's hand, then watched him climb onto the horse's back. Wise left the palace, leading a group of hundreds of thousands of soldiers, heading straight to the area where the battle between the two countries was taking place. He had to take back what he had lost and push the imperial knights back to their country.

Wise would definitely return, because Harumasa was waiting for him.

.

When he arrived, Wise witnessed the brutality of war. The soldiers were wounded and killed in large numbers, but it seemed that the Aku Empire had also suffered heavy casualties. The battle had temporarily stopped for a while due to the loss of troops on both sides. The mages were exhausted from constantly using magic to heal the soldiers and support them throughout the battle. Of course, there were also royal physicians standing by the tents of the wounded to treat them.

Wise had brought a lot of food and medicine to supply them. He also went to meet Lycaon to discuss the next plan. For the time being, they had pushed back the enemy a bit, but when Princess Miyabi appeared, the advantage returned to the empire's knights.

The current situation was not very favorable, but Wise would do his best with what he could.

As dawn broke, the battle broke out once again. The two sides rushed to kill each other, Wise led the soldiers of the Eridu Kingdom to confront the knights of the Aku Empire.

And that was also the first time Wise saw Princess Miyabi of the Aku Empire.

She wore an Aku Empire-style armor, the long ears typical of the fox thiren race, long black hair fluttering in the wind, and bright red eyes that were hard to mistake among the crowd of knights. She held a sword in her hand, its design was different from the swords of the Eridu Kingdom. The difference in culture between the two countries meant that both the armor and the weapons were different. So it was easy to distinguish who was an ally and who was an enemy.

Wise had magical power, although not as much as Harumasa, but at least it could support him in battle. After all, he had a birthday present from Harumasa.

Miyabi's sword collided with Wise's sword, the two of them faced each other on horseback, in the middle of the battlefield.

"Prince Wise of the Eridu Kingdom. I didn't expect to meet you here."

"Princess Miyabi of the Aku Empire, you have killed many people from my kingdom, I will stop you."

Miyabi did not look down on Wise's intentions even though from the start of the battle, no one from the Eridu Kingdom could stop her. And she took those words as a challenge. The swordsmanship of the two kingdoms was completely different, the Aku Empire focused on aiming at vital points, while the Eridu Kingdom focused on controlling the opponent, however, if used properly, it was still possible to easily kill the enemy.

Miyabi's attack speed was really impressive, she looked more like a real warrior than a princess who was born and would inherit the throne in the future. Although she had no magic power, with the support of the magician Soukaku from afar, her stamina did not consume much, and her wounds healed very quickly.

Just by looking at her, one could tell that even the slightest mistake would result in her being killed.

Miyabi's blade aimed straight at Wise's heart, but it was blocked by a protective barrier. The ears on her head moved slightly, as if recognizing whose magic power the enchanted sword belonged to. She gritted her teeth, immediately attacking faster and stronger, each slash was very powerful, it seemed that her anger had given her more motivation to go deeper into the Eridu kingdom.

"You bastard, you received the magic sword from Asaba, but you didn't ask for his death penalty! You don't deserve to use that sword of his!!!"

With his agility, Miyabi threw Wise's sword into the air, it stabbed straight into the ground, at the same time Miyabi's blade pierced his chest.

He wondered if this was how Harumasa felt when Lycaon's blade pierced his chest at that moment.

Blood spurted out, but Wise didn't stop because of that, he quickly pulled out a sword that was stuck on the ground, probably a soldier's weapon dropped, and quickly stabbed towards Miyabi. Perhaps because of the pain, the position he stabbed was quite far from her heart.

"Prince!"

Rina spurted her horse forward, immediately throwing small blades towards Miyabi, but all of them were blocked by Yanagi.

"Princess, retreat, you're injured. Soukaku doesn't have enough magic power to continue."

Miyabi hugged her shoulder, nodding, after all, Yanagi was the one who planned the attack, so listening to Yanagi's words was necessary. Both sides retreated, but Wise's injuries were clearly more severe than Miyabi's. The magic sword was still there, stuck in the ground, among countless corpses and other weapons.

.

Harumasa woke up with a start, he had finally found the memory he needed. But he had a feeling that something was wrong when he searched for his memories. He couldn't find Wise, it seemed like Wise wasn't in the palace.

He silently prayed that the worst situation he had thought of wasn't true.

No matter what, he needed to regain his vision right now. Harumasa sat up, started chanting, creating a magic circle under his body. This method could temporarily restore his vision while he was making medicine. Harumasa didn't have much time, so as soon as he regained his vision, he hurriedly ran to find the ingredients needed to make medicine. Harumasa had been using magic power the whole time he was looking for medicine. Some of the ingredients were quite far away, so he had to teleport there, and it took a lot of magic power.

And when he teleported to a place, he stood there dumbfounded.

In front of Harumasa were many corpses of soldiers, the blood had dried, but the strong smell of it was still in the air. Based on the armor they were wearing, they were probably soldiers of the Eridu Kingdom. Harumasa shook his head, now he had to find the ingredients to make medicine, because the effect of this magic didn't last long.

"Ah, here it is."

Harumasa sat down, carefully picking the herbs and some necessary flowers so that the petals wouldn't be damaged. There were some flowers that were stained with blood and dried up, unsuitable for medicine, so Harumasa didn't pick them. He was about to stand up to return to the palace, but he saw something he didn't expect to be there.

"No way... It's definitely not..."

Harumasa nervously looked at the sword among the countless weapons, he reached out, using his magic power to pull the sword out. It flew towards him, the magic power in his hand.

It was the magic sword he had given Wise on Wise's 18th birthday.

Wise would never abandon a gift Harumasa gave him, especially this sword.

That meant Wise was in a state where he couldn't pick up this sword.

Harumasa clenched the sword in his hand, his blue eyes lit up, a magic circle appeared under his feet. He let go of the sword, letting it float in the air.

"Go, lead me to your master."

Harumasa ran after the sword, praying that he would make it in time.
