First Chapter

He looked at the window and took a deep breath. Looking at the immense drops streaming down its glass, hearing the wind rubbing against the trees, he knew that the hurricane blowing outside his window was a small trifle, at the same time as was happening over the last year.

Until a few months ago, he would never have thought that he would be sitting here again. Perhaps he would worry about an unmanageable test or think about what will happen to him this new year. If everything had gone as he dreamed, he would have been sitting calmly with the letter with the SUM results.
He might have seen a couple of Exceeds Expectations from items he disliked less (such as caring for magical creatures). Even though he had a passionate dislike for transmutation or herbalism, he got pretty good grades on them.

Immediately after that, he heard loud footsteps, so he quickly left the window. He cast a few more curses on both cutting and explosive doors. As soon as they break the spells Draco cast on the door, it's should kill as many of them as possible.

He quickly took the bag he had packed earlier. It contained a lot of prominent things for him - family books about the darkest curses, a lot of healing potions and galeones. Everything had been safely in this bag for several weeks, but the conditions did not allow him to escape.

He looked around his room one last time, took the broom and flew out.

“ Au revoir my home.” - He thought, flying away.

Draco woke up on August 31 feeling so tired. There was nothing strange about it - he slept worse and worse recently, so he did not even try to fall asleep before exhausting his body. He created a routine of around 11 p.m., changing into comfortable training robes and going to their family library.

Usually, he searched for a specific book he had previously chosen, took it and went to one of the basement rooms, which his father - in times of exceptional fascination with dark magic - had created to train. There he began to practice a given curse or spell on which he had recently finished. He practised spells he knew, which could be considered nonsense, but he did not learn but practised endurance and his magic core.

This had been going on since the beginning of the summer vacation when their uninvited guest increasingly shared his thoughts as he slowly recovered his strength. During this time, Draco began to experience disturbing dreams and anxiety. He dreamed of phantoms and screams at night.

Therefore, it resulted in him walking a bit exhausted all day. He noticed, however, that as he built up his endurance, he was less and less tired. For the first week of such training, he was unable to function.

At first, his insomnia led him to start using Sleeping Draft, but the effect was mediocre. The potion was depleted relatively quickly, so the dreams returned, but had a negative effect and Draco refused to dose it. For the rest of the day after drinking this elixir, he felt sluggish and didn't respond as quickly as he should have.

But there was no time to think about it now. He quickly absorbed his clothes, prepared and pressed by the elf that morning. His elf, Dobby, cared for him as best she could. They have been together for as long as he can remember, but as far as he knows it was a gift from his great-grandfather Pollux.

He died when Draco was about 10, but he always had interesting memories of his eighty-some-year-old great-grandfather. He had a - rather Draco-favored - dark sense of humour, but he also had a caring side. This one, however, was shown to a few during Draco's childhood and even less when Draco's beloved mother was young.

As for his mother, from what he remembers today, she was supposed to go on a short vacation to France. Explaining and lying that he was visiting her friend while she was visiting one of her lovers. It was an unspoken contract between his mother and father. He will be silent about her lovers and she will not get involved in any of his affairs. Still, she loved Draco as much as her icy heart could.

For many years, my father regularly invested in companies and people. He managed the same in his private life. He chose creatures worth it and invested in their development. Lucius was a practical man, and as such he paid no attention to non-existent beings. This was the approach that Draco tried to introduce into his life, but he never really did well.

Despite having Malfoy's appearance, it was the character and temperament of his mother's family. He had never been so good at not showing his emotions when he was raging in anger. Already during his childhood, his mother decided that he gave up not on her but his aunt. And not the one that escaped with the slime.
