Introduction
Once upon a time... That's how all of the very best stories begin, isn't it? The ones with the beautiful maiden, with her beautiful family, and a beautiful knight that comes to save her from whatever villain is holding her captive. The stories where everyone lives happily ever after and only the villains die in the end... that's how I wish all stories ended, including my own, but unfortunately, life isn't a fairytale. I grew up in a rather wealthy family, my father was Regulus Black, he passed away when I was the young age of 1 leaving me with my Grandmother Walburga until I was 7, where I was then passed off to my cousins, the Malfoy's. I didn't have an awful childhood, Narcissa and Draco always made me feel welcome when Lucius wasn't around, he viewed me as a traitor for my father's actions against You Know Who, however, not all hope was lost for me yet, my early childhood was filled with etiquette lessons and ballet practices, to make me "more disciplined" according to Lucius. The Malfoy's raised me to be just like them as the last true Black family member. It was a requirement that I grew to fulfill the future my father and uncle neglected. I was to be Slytherin, like my father and the rest of my family, follow the Dark Lord, become a Death Eater... that was my fate, my future set before me on a silver platter, but I was always unsure, clearly, that isn't the fate my father wanted for me, he proved that with his death.
The last thing I wanted to do was disappoint my father... he sacrificed his life to fight against the dark lord. I feel it's only correct if I fight the future my family has bestowed upon me.
My name is Asteria Hecate Black, and I am the last of the noble Black family.
