Of Witches and Wizards: Book One
Summary
The letter looked too fancy to be sitting in an eleven years old stack of gifts. The paper of it looked old and worn, and a strange symbol printed into the wax melt that was holding the letter inside secured. But his name was notably plastered on the front of it, the loopy cursive of it stared back at him as he turned back to his mother, his curiosity was piqued now and he wondered what the envelope contained. She would deny it still to this day, but Karl swears that when she turned around, her face paled slightly when she peeked at the envelope in his hand.He almost passed it to her before he caught a glimpse and saw another name scrawled on the other side of it.Retracting his hand, he flipped the envelope over and was equally even more stunned when he saw ‘Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’ Scribbled on the front.----OR; I throw the crew boys and any mcyt I want into the wizarding world and now you all have to deal with it.

Dream

All Dream could tell you was that one moment he was sitting with his head dropped off George's shoulder and the next.

Well, the next he was huddled in the corner of the seats as the dark, frigid air surrounded them.

Their current situation was more than unexpected, to say the least.

Dream could faintly hear Tommy's and Tubbo's frantic whispers and could see Ranboo curled up next to his older brother as Karl whispered comforting words into his ear.

Sapnap and Quacktiy sat beside Karl, Sapnap having a loose hold on Karl's hand; fidgeting with the colorful bracelets on the wrist that wasn't wrapped around Ranboo.

George was quiet next to Dream as he tucked his knees up to his chest, resting his chin on his crossed arms. He looked so peaceful Dream would've thought he was sleeping if it weren't for the fact that his eyes were scanning the room.

Dream himself was still sitting comfortably. He tugged at the bracelet on his wrist, one that Karl had hand-crafted and gifted him over the summer after second year.

"What are we supposed to do ?" Dream whispered, he was the first one to break the silence that had started up over twenty minutes ago.

"There's nothing we really can do is there ?" Karl was hesitant to answer because he was right; was there anything they could even do to fix this?

"We'll have to wait it out, we have no choice." Dream couldn't see him very well anymore as the dark clouds moved to block the sun, but he knew Sapnap's voice and he could tell from the slight waver that he was just as scared.

They all were.

When the glass door of the compartment slid open and the dark figure of a dementor stood in its frame, Dream felt his heart drop and his body freeze.

The mere presence of the monster dropped the temperatures to even colder than it originally was, causing the smaller kids to slightly shiver despite their sweaters.

Little gasps could be heard around the room and even scrambling as his friends that were closer shoved themselves against the glass of the window.

The dementor towered over them, letting out a nasty screech, sucking in the air around them and inching closer to them.

Up close they were more horrible looking than Dream imagined, but then again he never planned on coming face to face with one.

The figure was cloaked; its head invisible and hidden as it fully entered their compartment.

Dream was frozen in his place as he stayed rooted in his seat. Slowly, he pushed George slightly behind him, holding his arm out in what he hoped to be a tiny source of protection.

His protection didn’t last very long as he suddenly felt sad and wasn’t sure why.

The dementor pulled its hood back and quickly clamped its jaw over Dream and he felt the world spin for a second.

Memories flashed by rapidly, none good as each memory proved to be worst than the last.

Flashes of Dreams early childhood flew by, with images of his cupboard and his relatives, Dudley, and each passing moment that Dream loathed him and the way they treated him.

Dream felt his heart drop as he heard his father yelling around him, only to follow by a thump and silence.

He could see Lily’s bright red hair as she rushed into the room, rushing towards him.

He wished for nothing more than to call out, to warn her; but only a couple of seconds later he heard her screams as she too fell to the ground.

He could still hear her as he sharply sat up.

Dream had gone from the compartment bench to the floor, his head resting on what he had to guess was Karl’s gangly legs, colored converse if he turned his head.

All four of his friends' concerned faces were above him, each with a look of worry in their eyes.

A fifth figure joined them and held out their hand.

“Chocolate, it’ll help. Take a bite.” The stranger held the chocolate out and Dream hesitantly took it.

“He’s right, we’ve all already had one. We were waiting for you to wake.” George said softly.

Dream nodded and took a small bite, feeling the slightest bit better already. He turned a wary glance at the new person.

“Allow me to introduce myself, Professor R.J Lupin. I’ll be the new Defence teacher this year.” Lupin held out his hand and Dream loosely shook it before returning to nibbling the chocolate.

“Clay Collins, although mostly everyone calls me Dream.” At his words, Lupin seemed to still in the smallest way, but Dream saw it.

Dream will find out, one way or another.
