Sapnap
Sapnap is excited.
This is his third year of school already, and he was ready to spend every possible moment he had to spare with his friends.
Don't get him wrong; he loved Hogwarts; he truly did. Over the first few years of his education, the building had grown to become his second home.
Sapnap loved the magic of it all, of being able to do magic. But nothing would ever beat the love he held for his friends.
George had quickly become his best friend; even before Hogwarts, they were close. George was top-knowledge and a thing for sarcastic remarks.
Dream was nothing less than his brother, since day one he knew who would always have his back. He always had been since the moment Sapnap had picked Dream thorough the wave of first-years and dragged him back to George.
Quackity who had used his humor and quick-witted skills to worm himself out of trouble; had no problem standing up for any of them. Who had always found a way to make them laugh; even on the bad days.
Karl. Karl has held something more to his heart that he wouldn't even know where to start explaining. Of colorful sweaters and a bubbly personality.
Somehow his friends of total opposites have wrangled their way into Sapnap's life.
They had gone through everything together. So not to be sappy (because he wouldn't admit that to anyone, not even Dream). Sapnap wouldn't trade them for anything.
Currently, the five of them were sprawled out in different places in their compartment.
George still had his head resting on the glass of the window but had now taken to placing his legs in between the gap where Dream and Quackity were sitting.
Dream himself had his head resting on the foldable table of their compartment with his arms folded under his head; Sapnap was almost positive he had fallen asleep at this point.
Quackity looked close to falling right behind Dream on the sleeping chain, his head slowly dropping back onto the seat before snapping his eyes back open.
Karl and Sapnap sat opposite the three of them. Karl had his back leaning against the window similar to George and had his legs thrown over Sapnap's lap; his converse almost hanging off of the seat.
It was quiet. Peaceful even; which was rare from their group.
But peace never seemed to last with them.
"Guys. What is that?" George suddenly questioned, sliding his legs off of Dreams and turning fully towards the window.
"What is what?" Sapnap slid over more to try and get a view out of the window, to try and infer what George was talking about.
"It's so dark now.." Karl muttered.
"It wasn't that dark when we got on the train, I don't think I've ever seen Hogwarts or anything near it this dark." And George was right, Sapnap knew that. Out of all three years of train rides, he's never seen the sky so gloomy and unlit.
The once bright and sunny skies that he would listen to Quackity and George complain about, now looked almost pitch black and had a blanket of shadow covering it.
"What's in the air?" Karl questioned as he got up and made his way towards Dream and Quackity, hurriedly shaking their shoulders to wake the two Slytherins up.
Quackity was the first wake-up, quickly shooting up from where his head had dropped on Dream's shoulder. "What the fuck? Are we already at the school?"
"Wait, why is the train stopped?" Followed up Dream, inching closer to the window.
"I know what those are.." George breathed.
"Are those fucking Dementors?" Quackity nearly shouted as he rounded his way over to Karl and Sapnap.
"Jesus Q, my ears," Sapnap complained.
"If Bad we're here right now he would yell at you for your language." Karl hummed as he turned back to the window.
"Guys we're getting off track" Dream chided. "George, what are dementors exactly?"
"Dementors are dark creatures, they feed on people's positivity," George explained. "They can suck the happiness or even life out of someone. They're considered to be one of the foulest creatures in the Wizarding World."
"I don't understand though. what are they doing here?" Karl questioned.
"I'm not quite sure either. Dementors are usually kept in Azkaban." George continued.
Suddenly the lights flickered, soon going out altogether.
Their compartment was now completely dark, the only light was the light from outside that barely filtered in through their window.
"Well if we didn't have any reason before to panic, we sure do now" Sapnap quipped.
"Great! this is just great!" George hissed.
"Hush now Gogy, I can hear the sarcasm." Quackity joked as he now made his way back to his seat, folding up the table as he did.
“How many times have I-“
“Guys!” Dream whispered. “Shh, do you hear that?”
“Hear what?” Sapnap questioned.
“No no he’s right, listen.” Karl agreed, standing up and moving towards the door.
When they all quieted down, That’s when Sapnap did hear it.
Quiet, hurried footsteps got louder as they approached their compartment.
Abruptly the door swung open and Sapnap saw three heads of hair burst through before promptly falling to the floor.
“Well this isn’t where we quite expected to end up is it?” The first kid teased.
“Does this fucking look like where we wanted to end up?” The second quipped. He seemed like he would get along great with George.
“Wait wait. Ranboo!?” “Tommy?”
“Oh, uhm hey Karl, fancy seeing you here.” The first- Ranboo smiled.
“Mhm, Tommy right? Wilbur’s younger brother?” George asked.
“You know Wilbur?”
“Yeah uh, he and I are in the same house, I share a dorm with him and Techno,” George replied. “So what are you three doing here exactly?”
“It’s funny that you bring that up, big man. We were looking for Wilbur and Techno.” Tommy answered. “This is Tubbo by the way since you seem to already know me and Ranboo here.”
“Yeah, Ranboo’s my brother.” Karl laughed as he went to go sit back down.
“Ranboo I didn’t know you had a brother,” Tubbo remarked, helping him and Tommy off of the floor.
“Dude, you’ve known me for like an hour.” Ranboo joked and Sapnap moved over to let him sit next to Karl.
“Well if we’re gonna be here for a while might as well get to know each other aye?”
“I think that’s a great idea Q, don’t you Gogy?” Sapnap teased.
So much for George’s statement about trouble this year.
