Peas in a pod

The very very beginning

SIRIUS ORION BLACK!” I hear my mother screech, I assume she had just seen what I did to the dining room (I painted it bright green). I’m quite proud of that one actually, mother on the other hand isn’t very proud of me.

“SIRIUS, COME DOWN HERE!” She continued on, normally at this stage I would be terrified of what she might do but not today. Today just so happens to be my first day at Hogwarts and she can’t hurt me without the risk of anyone noticing, she would never let anyone believe her children were so disobedient that she had to use curses on them.

“SIRIUS IF YOU DON’T COME DOWN YOU ARENT GOING TO HOGWARTS!”. That bit caught my attention, I sprinted down the steps and skipped multiple steps on the way. I slowed down just before I got to the dining room where I knew I would find her.

“Yes mother?”

“what is this?” She said trying to keep her composure.

“What’s what?”

“You know what Sirius”

“Ohhhh, you mean my beautiful artwork”

“I wouldn’t exactly call it beautiful, where did you even get the paint?”

“Uncle Alphard had some left over from when he painted his house and he let me borrow it”

“That man will be the death of us all” she said under her breath.

“Do you not like it?” I say with a fake pout, “I thought you would love it, after all it is the colour of Slytherin”

“Sirius I- just go and get your bag before I change my mind about letting you go” she practically hisses in my face.

“Yes mother”

I turn around to leave.

“And tell your brother to be ready to leave in half an hour”

“Yes mother”

I’m so excited that I almost forget to get Regulus, “REGULUS” I shout, striding into his room. “It’s time to go hurry up”.

My brother, Regulus, is very quiet compared to me, I’m not really sure why. Obviously he talks sometimes because how would you live if you never talked to anyone, but he doesn’t talk that much. Maybe it’s because I’m so loud, maybe he doesn’t feel like he can put his opinion in anywhere, or maybe he’s content being the quiet one. I guess I’ll never know, but for now I would much rather focus on getting to Hogwarts.

“BOYS ITS TIME TO GO!” My father shouts up to us.

“COME ON REG LETS GO!” I say, dragging him out of his seat by the arm, again he doesn’t object to being pulled about. I don’t think too much about it at the minute because it’s finally time.
