Mizuki and Mafuyu were friends since they were little, they knew everything about eachother. from favorite foods to intimate thoughts... or that's what Mafuyu thought, but Mizuki wasn't really close to him anymore.. or were they? Mafuyu didn't really know anymore... Ever since they dissapeared weeks ago and showed back up, it felt alien to be around them, like they were the same but not quite. Mizuki was the same, from their actions to their appearance. But why did everything feel so off for her??? Shouldn't he be glad his friend came back in one piece after disappearing suddenly? gosh, those thoughts made Mafuyu's stomach twist and twirl, he'd throw up soon if he kept that up.
As Mafuyu came back to reality, he was besides his best friend, their smile bright as ever, buying treats for both of them in the same old store they would always go to after class. What was Mafuyu thinking?? that's really Mizuki. The Mizuki he's always known. but something still felt off. As both of them got out of the convenience store with their popsicles, it was a hot summer to be fair, Mafuyu felt his guts tighten more and more. An anxious feeling of being in a twilight zone was haunting him since Mizuki showed back up alive. He couldn't handle this feeling anymore, so he decided it be better to just say it.
-Hey, can i ask you something a little strange?- Mafuyu spoke with his regular deadpan tone, his gaze away from Mizuki's face.
-What? you want to confess your undying love for me??- Mizuki teased while fixing up their hair. Mafuyu didn't even react to it, that made Mizuki's insides twirl.
-Not that.- Mafuyu glanced at the floor and looked back up to the nothing he kept staring at
-Well, actually this has been going for some time now. You know, this has been on my mind for a while... ever since you went missing and showed back up..- Mafuyu glanced at Mizuki, his eyes were cold as ever -You are really different from Mizuki.- Mafuyu could see the nervousness on Mizuki's eyes.
'Mizuki's' face started to melt. 'Mizuki's' face shifted and moved like it was alien, melting into chunks of flesh and spreading all over the place, but still attached to a half mizuki face, it was terrifying. Mafuyu felt his guts tightening and he couldn't breathe.
-Come on Mafuyu, MOVE MOVE MOVE MOVE YOU'LL DIE LIKE A MORON MOVE MOVE MOVE- He thought to himself, being unable to move a singular muscle in his body, Mafuyu closed his eyes, accepting his fate.
Mafuyu suddenly felt the creature that took his friend's appearance wrap their arms around him, Well that's it, he's a goner. Died pathetically to a alien slime that called itself by his best friend's name. It leaned closer to him, Mafuyu could feel It's breath in his ear. -Please..- They squeezed the boy tighter -...Do not tell a soul- Mafuyu felt something wet against his shoulder. Oh, They were crying. -Please Mafuyu, keep my secret, Our secret.- The creature Mizuki was crying hard, They were holding Mafuyu's shoulders like he would disappear at any second.
-Mafuyu, please- They begged.
