Chapter 5
Sirius pov:
Regulus. Of all people Regulus. And to be honest a small part of him was mad that he found out like this, in quite literally the dumbest way possible. If James had just checked his stupid phone he'd know they were there too. And then he wouldn't have absolutely ruined his nice night with his boyfriend.
Either way, Sirius was pissed off. But he didn't know how to react. He didn't want to make a scene in their favourite pub and get banned. And he didn't want to act like this infront of all of his friends when they were just meeting his lovely boyfriend. He didn't want his boyfriend to see him react the way he wanted to either.
So he just stared at the two. They seemed happy really. Most traitors usually are.
Regulus finally caught his eye and his eyes widened in shock. Sirius raised an eyebrow and motioned towards the open door.
"Remus, I'm just going to have a fag, I'll be back soon."
"Alright, love you."
"Love you too."
He walked out and fished for the pack of cigarettes in his back pocket, finding it and lighting one.
"Can I have one?" Regulus said as he appeared beside Sirius.
"Sure."
Regulus copied Sirius' actions and they both stood in silence.
"So my best friend? Really?"
"I mean, this is literally our first and only date and it's not like anything's happened yet."
"I get it, but still. James? Really?"
"Yes? I don't know what u expect me to say. He's a lovely person."
Sirius took a long drag before answering, "Yeah. Why James though? Aren't you like best friends with that Crouch kid?"
"That does not mean I am interested in him romantically and even if I was polyamorous relationships exist."
"Sure, sure."
"Okay well, I'm going back in." Regulus said, dropping the cigarette and stubbing it out with the heel of his shoe.
"Alright. Look I'm not happy with this but I'll probably warm up. And I'll speak to James later. Don't warn him."
"I will."
"Bitch!" Sirius shouted after him.
He was happy for them, James was wonderful and so was Reggie. But it was weird knowing two of the most important people in his life were together.
He knew it was unfounded but he mostly felt like they'd forget about him. They'd become so close with eachother that he just wouldn't be part of the equation.
Of course it was silly to think that, they loved him too, but did they love him as much as he loves them?
Remus pov:
Sirius had left him pretty much alone at the table and he was mildly freaking out.
He was finding it a good time, and all of his friends were easy to talk to, and did most of the heavy lifting when they noticed he wasn't speaking much. Marlene, Mary, Dorcas and Peter were hilarious and vibrant, in different ways yes, but it was all very apparent. He could cleary see why they were all friends.
However, with Sirius gone he felt untethered. It helped having Sirius there to ground him. He wanted him to come back, even though he'd only been gone a couple of minutes.
Regulus came through the doors, his confident aura coming through just as strong as always. His eyes followed him through the room, to his spot in the corner and he could visibly see James light up at the sight of him.
God, they were gonna become insufferable.
