Chapter 12
“and that my young friend is what a panic attack is,” Explained Healer Jenson, “Honestly it surprises me that this is the first one that you have experienced since all of this happened. There is no need to worry with all that has been going on I was expecting worse we will add a calming draught to your regimen for tonight and see how you are feeling in the morning okay?”
With Harry’s nod of agreement James and Lily finally let out the breath that they had holding thinking that something more serious was going on. While they both realized the significance of this occurrence they were just happy that Harry was not dying on them again.
“do you have any questions for me or is there anything that I can do to make this transition more easy for you?” Healer Jenson asked.
Harry thought for a minute about if there was anything he had to know and deciding that he didn’t really want to bother anyone he shook his head no. But James and Lily did not have those same reservations, asking “what is the best way that we can respond if something like this happens again?”
“Honestly the main things that you can do is to learn to identify any warning signs that may present and trying to stay calm because the calmer you are the calmer he will be.” Healer Jenson explained.
“Thank you.” James said satisfied but still not happy about the fact that there was nothing that he could do to prevent them altogether.
Once Healer Jensen had left the room with a sigh and a ruffle of his hair James crossed the room and once again sank to the bed giving Harrys hair a fluff asked, “Really, are you okay?”
Clearing his throat Harry responded, “Yeah, I'm good I just wasn’t expecting something like that to happen.”
“Well I'm glad you are okay, that gave us a fright. Has that ever happened to you before?” Lily asked as she continued to softly rub Harrys back reassuring herself as much as him that he was truthfully okay.
With a small shrug Harry replied, “when I was really young it happened a few times but not very often that I remember and usually only with big things. How long do we have left until Mark comes and is Remus coming with him?”
Noticing the not very subtle subject change James and Lily glanced at each other before Lily began, “Honey, I know you were excited to see Mark today as we all were but I'm not sure that is the best idea right now you have had a lot of things happening already I'm not sure we need to add more to that. Don’t you think it might be best to rest one more night before you meet each other?”
“NO!! No I don’t think that’s a smart idea I think you are just nervous that something is going to happen. Well trust me I've handled a lot more than meeting a eight year old when I have been much more stressed than I am now! I'm meeting him today!” Harry began to feel very irritated here he was in another freaking universe and yet everyone was still treating him like he was a child and truthfully he had never truly been a child at all not since he had been one at least.
“Okay, if you think you can handle it that’s fine. But I want you to promise us something.” Lily responded both shocked and concerned with how much Harry had just admitted to. How many 15 year old’s had been through enough horrible things that being transferred to an alternate universe is not top of the list for them?
“what is it?” Harry asked cautiously
“Promise us that if you even feel slightly tired or need a break at all you will tell us?” Lily continued
“Seriously, that’s it sure I can do that.” Harry responded releaved that it was not something that would be more difficult for him to do I mean really just tell them that he needs a break? How hard could that be?
“Now that that is settled I will let Remus know that they can go ahead and come then.” James said. Conjuring prongs he whispered a short message to him and sent him on his way. Now they just had to wait for them to arrive.
Harry could hear them before he saw them it was quite obvious that Mark was trying to get Remus to hurry up and to just go while Remus was trying to get Mark to calm down so that he didn’t stress Harry out. The conversation was so loud that it was clear they were just on the other side of the door. While James and Lily were trying to hold their laughter back at the situation Harry was becoming antsy fast he needed to see Remus, he needed the calmness that he always brought to any situation, so raising his voice slightly he said, “Are you two planning on coming in today or do you need to reschedule?”
At that James and Lily had no chance of holding back their laughter no matter what they tried. The door burst open and Harry came face to face with the closest thing to a younger version of himself he had ever seen well minus the glasses of course it seemed as though Mark had managed to inherit his mothers eyesight.
The next thing Harry knew he had a lap full of kid Mark had apparently taken one look at him and chosen that the next logical thing to do was to give him the biggest hug possible. Harry having never been around many young children was surprised by how much he didn’t hate it. Once Mark had extracted himself from Harry’s lap and made it over to say hello to his mum and dad Remus walked toward Harry going to introduce himself, Harry noted that there was a lot less grey in his hair and his robes were slightly less patched than the last time that he saw him.
“Hello Harry, I'm your Uncle Remus, its nice to meet you.” Remus said formally.
With a smile Harry said, “Oh no worries Professor I know you quite well actually.”
“I'm still a professor in your universe?” Remus asked in a bit of shock.
Harry couldn’t look at him when he told responded, stupid habit, “Well yes and no…. you taught my third year but you aren’t teaching anymore, there has been a lot going on, sorry I mentioned it.”
