“You've hired who?” Severus hissed his eyes on Albus.
“Gilderoy Lockheart,” Albus replied calmly.
“No!” he shouted.
“Yes, Severus," Albus smiled as if he wasn't trying to eviscerate him with his eyes, "It is not up for discussion, it is done.”
Snarling, Severus stormed from the office wondering what the fuck he was going to do now.
Two weeks later, keeping the glower on his face he stormed into the start of year staff meeting. And there he was. All shiny and happy and…blonde. Fuck.
“Ah, Severus how nice of you to join us. You remember Gildreory don't you?” Albus smiled benignly.
“Severus,” Snape glowered at the man who was all teeth and hair and who was beaming at him. “How wonderful to meet you, I've heard so much!”
“Indeed,” he muttered, skulking into his seat as he allowed Albus’ nonsense to float around him.
The man was driving the entire female population insane. Pomona had giggled at him for fucks sake. Giggled! It was horrifying. And now Albus wanted him to start a duelling club with the shiny blond man. Was he insane? He was getting more and more frustrated by the day. He wasn't in control! He needed to be in control.
Fuck! He had sent him into the wall. With surprising force. That hadn't been his intention…although…now, now he could do something about it couldn't he? Offer… comfort…he could do that? Although…how exactly did one offer comfort? It wasn't part of his natural repertoire. He could take a pain potion though, couldn't he? That would be a…nice thing to do. Right. He’d do that then.
Steeling his spine, ignoring the butterflies threatening to overwhelm him, Severus knocked on the door.
Gilderoy smiled knowingly, as he gestured him in. “Come in, Severus.” he beamed, “I’ve been expecting you.”
