Chapter 3

The grass squelched underneath a fleeing rabbit; it scurried off the beaten, untraveled path as two students ducked under low-hanging branches.   They walked single file, avoiding the many thorn bushes lining the dark path.  The first student came to a halt, lifting his head to look over the towering walls of the magic school.  For only a short moment he stilled, eyes searching the wall.  his head turned towards the second approaching student, silently turning back around to push against the thick wall in front of him.  without that much effort a small section of the wall turned with the student to revel a dimly lit stone corridor.  The two stepped into the hall, shoes making a scuffing sound over the chipped marble floors.  Bakugou stepped forward, and used the same spell All Might had used in the great hall.  torches blazed beside them; the smell of smoke wafted around Eijiro and billowed aimlessly out of the opening behind him.  The Durmstrang student put his wand away and set off down the hallway, causing the red head to promptly follow.

It was quiet, the raging torches crackled in Kirishima's ears being the only constant sound beyond the shuffle of shoes or the swish of a uniform.  Kirishima's mind dulled, wondered, far further than he had meant it to.  He was only brought back into reality only when Bakugou snapped in his ear.  He looked blankly at the blonde as he regained his composure from being startled.  Kirishima looked around his changed surroundings, a staircase descended into the dank corridor behind him; The sun shone through a layer of clouds, casting light over the institutes expansive and unexplored campus.  The Hufflepuff saw the tops of trees, birds flew idly around the forest as it grew into Autumn.   Bakugou sauntered past Eijiro, leaning heavily against the tower beside them and looking past the many lined spires on the roof.  Kirishima turned his head, followed the direction that Bakugou had been looking in.  His eyes widened as he watched All Might address both magic schools from a podium situated in the middle of a makeshift stage.

Bakugou grinned a tad bit as Kirishima looked at him, his arms crossed over his chest as the Hufflepuff stared at him.  He put a finger to his lips, effectively shutting down any, and all questions Eijiro could have thought of.  Kirishima climbed the roof and sat against one of the spires mounted to it, silently watching as each year was sorted into their respective houses.  Nothing was said as words from far below filled the air around them.  Kirishima put his head on his knees as he listened to the headmaster drone on about the Durmstrang houses.  This did capture his undivided attention, listening eagerly for the new information.  He listened to All might explain the first house. Soscrofa, the house color was gray, and the house symbol was the wild boar.  Individuals in this house often preferred being solitary beings.   It was also explained that they have an innate aggression they lay hidden unless provoked.  All Might came to the house Ucilena next, their symbol was a killer whale and house color was black.  This house held the innately intelligent being who enjoyed life and having a good time.  it was followed by All Might explaining that very little things bothered members of this house and that they had the ability to balance their emotions and think rationally in any given situation.  Third came Vulpelara, represented by the arctic fox; their house color was blue.  students that would be sorted into this house are generally friendly and valued friends and family; however, they become aggressive if their friends or family were to be threatened.  All might soon made to the fourth house, Wolverine.  their house color was green, and their house symbol was, unsurprisingly, a wolverine.  Students that would be sorted into this house had a reputation for their ferocity and strength. It was said that they were naturally territorial and didn't let anything stand in the way of getting what they want in life.

Kirishima leaned closer to the edge as All might explained the correlation between the eight houses, how each of the Hogwarts houses fit with one of Durmstrang's.  Nezu, the Headmaster of Hogwarts, would separate each house with their Durmstrang counterpart.  This went on for another thirty long minutes, and Eijiro started to zone out and let his mind wander once again.  It wasn't until he felt a weight on his shoulder that he jolted back into reality as he looked at the blonde standing behind him.  Kirishima stood up, looking at Bakugou; The blonde walked to the staircase and stepped down, silently asking Eijiro to follow him.  Eijiro did, much happier to follow than to be dragged like before.  As they descended into the depths of what Eijiro reasoned was a wall, torches slowly went out as the two of them passed.  they came to a stop at the entrance, untouched as they had left it almost an hour before.

They followed their footsteps back to the main entrance, joining with the rest of the student body without being noticed by them.  The Durmstrang student followed for a few minutes, and Eijiro followed not far behind him. Suddenly, Bakugou turned, yelling something over his shoulder.  Kirishima lost sight of him for a second and knows he would have been stranded if it wasn't for Bakugou being as loud as he truly was.  This led the red head to dance around the sea of students going in all different directions.  Kirishima was cut off by who he presumed was a third year, and a second later he felt something wrap around his wrist and pull him out of that sea of teenagers and ghosts of kids.  he followed the arm and saw Bakugou looking forward, annoyed glare fixated on the floor as he let go of Kirishima.  The blonde's strides grew faster as he reached the end of a hallway; he stopped at a large dark door, looking at Karishma and motioning for him to go inside.

Karishma swung the heavy door open as Bakugou twisted around and went the opposite direction.  He almost watched him leave, before Mina came barreling over to give him a hug.  he wrapped his arms around her, looking around the room, potions were strewn around long tables, some bubbled, some were smoking, some were calm and colorful.  While he walked past a bottle that dripped something light purple, he concluded this was potions class and he sat down with his friends at the table they had already claimed.  He listened to the teacher's introduction to the project they would be working on, deciding to work with his table mates rather than somebody completely new to him.  the rest of the class continued on without a hitch, as did the rest of his classes.  He followed his closest friends into the great hall for dinner, sitting down and waiting.  Dinner was uneventful, but it was because of his friends that it was a successful and memorable as the first dinner at Durmstrang.  As dinner wound down, Nezu and All might brought the student body's attention to the front of the room where they stood with the teachers.  Nezu addressed his students kindly and explained that last night's dorm situation had been merely temporary, and the Hogwarts students would now be staying in whatever dorm matched their house.  Kirishima leaned his elbows on the table as he watched each head of house walk to the head of the house dorm that they'd be staying in.

Everything was normal, each head of house shook their counterparts' hand and smiled, until the Slytherin head boy scoffed at none other than Katsuki Bakugou, who in turn just grinned and outstretched his hand.  when the boy, whose name escaped Eijiro even though he tried to remember; took Durmstrang's Head boy's hand.  The Slytherin was thrown back against a table, as Durmstrang and Hogwarts students alike muttered in amazement at the action preformed in front of them.  Bakugou raised his hand again, sneering at the slumped boy feet away from him.  he turned to his now dorm mates and quirked a crooked smile. he bowed, low and almost apologetic to those that were innocent in the ordeal.  he stood a moment later, making his way back to his table, passing an equally disappointed and awestruck Kirishima.  It took a while for everyone else to settle down after what Bakugou had done, but once it happened everything else went pretty well all things considered.  The Hufflepuff followed his classmates to their dormitories.  The dorms towered into the sky, more rooms had been added for his house.

He was led inside, and the head of house explained that all dorms had become individual, however there was an option for roommates that caused Denki and Sero to jump in joy.  This caused him to chuckle, as he was given his room number.  The dark night greeted him through the window facing the door, welcoming the sight of storm clouds approaching.  He looked around the room, desk, bookshelf, his trunks had already been delivered, as had his owl.  Eijiro welcomed his new bed, dark yellow and gray Blanket wrapping around him as he curled up to sleep that night.  However, nothing in his life right now was that simple.  He tossed and turned, unable to sleep as it began to drizzle outside.  he sat up abruptly when he heard his window squeak open; startled he grabbed his wand and turned his body to face the window;  His eyes landed on the animal perched on the windowsill. Tail twitching and ears vigilant, a cat sat at his window, and around their neck was a light orange collar with a shiny brass bell.
