Chapter 1

How, did things go so bad? Kirishima didn't know, nor did he want to find out. He remembers it better than he had originally, the brightest flames he'd ever experienced. He found it amusing, sitting on this ship leading them deeper into a clouded mystery, one he hoped he'd live past. He vividly remembers the shrieks and whales of those unfortunate enough to not get out of the flames engulfing the school of magic.

Kirishima Stood, stark and out of place among the faculty and students grieving amongst themselves. He stalked over to the edge of the fine ship he was staying on, and gazed into the mist. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. He knew it wasn't any of his classmates or close friends, for they were all inside mingling and chatting with each other. his posture stiffened, edging and fraying in worry and the uncomfortable silence that had encircled his proximity. The bubble of self wallowing and pity shattered at the ever present shift of the boat being accompanied by a set of footsteps, short and uneven he noted. He griped the handrail tightly agents his cold hands so tight his knuckles had long sense turned pale and Thin. He felt the familiar presence of some passersby that had likely taken pity on his situation. Kirishima sighed no longer needing to look for a reason to avoid eye contact. He reluctantly pulled his head up, taking his upper half with it. He know stood, with his back straight, he faced his teacher.  the conversation was soon forgotten, as he watched as trees and animals lived their lives, unsuspecting of the human watching them.  He allowed his head to drop once more as his fellow housemates and friends shuffled onto the floor of the ship.  He knew that hiding was easier than answering questions everyone already knew the answer to. As seconds turned into minutes and those into hours, his world became increasingly dull as the sun set.  As his world crumpled, his friends asked if he was ok, knowing that his friends weren't fine themselves, he lied, twisting the truth to his will, hoping to, somehow fade into the shadows of the ships deck.  he observed the people that passed him unknowingly.

He sighed as the boat shifted.

The ship was no longer sailing on open seas, they were now drifting upstream bringing them ever closer to the school that not much was known about.  Kirishima trudged closer to the edge of the boat to get a glimpse of his new environment.  The main building was clad in a shadow cast by the mountain jutting upwards in sharp pillars and boulders.  The only light he saw came from watch towers engulfed in a soft flame that illuminated very little of the actual campus.  Kirishima could faintly make out the silhouette of many more buildings, both bigger and smaller than the main building ment for teaching he assumed.  Tall trees blocked on lookers prying eyes as Kirishima could only see the top of the castle and the watch towers from where he had shifted to see.  As they drew nearer the trees parted, sending shivers of awe down his spine.  Kirishima saw many ships, both ready to sail and ones that seemed brand new.  The school was largely dark due to the little moonlight being produced.  As his ship was brought in, he was called to join the rest of the Hufflepuff house as they descend the bridge connecting the ship to he doc. Their headmaster Nezu, had instructed each head of house to gather and count head, to make absolute sure they had everyone. Kirishima didn't pay much mind after that, he was only paying attention to his new home, until Hogwarts was rebuilt.  He could get a better look at the campus now that he was off the ship that had taken him there, he now could see the many buildings better.  He counted eight in total, not counting the main building.

He eventually heard his name being called, turning to see his friends smiling up at him.  They explained that the houses would gather collectively in the great hall, as he understood, where dinner was held.  He gulped down a fear that had now settled into his lower gut.  He hated the feeling, but he knew he couldn't stop himself from feeling it.  Kirishima followed behind his friends, who had already been behind the group of students.

Soon as his journey began on the ocean, his ended at the great hall, as house after house selectively waltzed into the room, he started to feel uneasy.  He knew he was safe, but it wasn't that feeling, it was the feeling of dread that had crawled into his mind that made him move in such a way that did little to ease his mind.

As the wait ticked past, he began to think of his after here.

would he make friends?

What will he learn?

Will he be able to escape him?

All were left unanswered, for the massive door opened revealing the head master of Drumstrang, All might.
