Chapter 5
“Oh. You actually have friends?” Regulus turns from his three letters to see Potter standing above his shoulder.
“Yes. Why would I lie about that and, is it so unbelievable that I can have friends.” Regulus asks as he stands up to give the owl his letters.
“Yeah, it is.” Potter answers, Regulus turns around to see a smirk on his face. Fucking bitch.
Regulus rolls his eyes and gets back to tie the letters to the owl, struggling he huffs out, annoyed.
“Do you need help?”
“No. Im fine, go with Sirius or something.” Regulus bites out still irked.
“Why?” Potter asks with amusement.
“Because I don't like you.” He says very pointedly.
Potter lets out an over-exaggerated gasp, “what! Why?”.
“For Fucks sake. Leave. Me. Alone.” Regulus shouts, finally losing his short patience. There is no way in hell Regulus is going to survive two weeks of this.
“Geez, you didn’t have to yell at me and, you didn't have to be so rude about it,” Potter says with that stupid smirk still on his face, merlin his face is just so punchable, it would be so satisfying to punch that smirk off.
Regulus so fed up and annoyed drops the letters rubs his hands over his face and walks away, better to leave before he does something that would make Effie kick him out.
“You left your letters!” He hears potter shout behind him, Regulus ignores him and opens the door to head inside.

“It’s Time to eat.” Regulus sets down his book to see Potter at the door frame, he sighs and gets up to head down.
“I sent the letters for you,” Potter says after Regulus is out of the door.
Regulus nods,” Okay.” is his dry response.
“That’s it? Not a thank you?” Potter has the verve to ask.
“No, I’m not thanking you,” Regulus says with a strained voice, trying with all his might to not snap at him again, it is his house after all.
“Why?” Potter repeats for what feels like the hundredth time.
“Stop asking why it's annoying. And you wouldn’t have needed to send my letters if you weren't so insufferable that I have to leave just so I won't punch that stupid smirk off your face!” Regulus retorts angrily in a hushed whisper so no one overhears.
“You’re especially snappy today,” Potter says brushing him off and walking past him down the stairs.
Regulus stands there dumbly for a bit before following after him.
They both sit down Regulus trying to sit as far as he possibly could get from Potter so that he doesn’t smash a plate over his head.
Regulus even though he tried to sit away, ended up sitting in front of Potter, who is smiling sweetly as his father serves him, Fucking fake bitch, how hard would I need to stab him with a fork for him to bleed to death.
Regulus almost chokes on his food, from the shock that thought gave him. He has always had intrusive thoughts, but never that dark.
“You okay?” Sirius asks concerned and patting his back.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Regulus sends him a tight smile and begins to eat again, avoiding eye contact with Potter.
It’s quite hard as he can feel his gaze burning holes into his skin, once he matches his gaze he sees that Potter looks, confused? Concerned? Regulus was never good at telling people's emotions.

Regulus is laying in his new room and reading the book he sat down on earlier, when he hears rapid knocking, not knowing if it’s Sirius or Potter, he ignores it.
“I know you hear me.” He hears potter muffled voice behind the door and groans loudly while getting up to see what he wants.
“I heard that,” Potter says when he opens the door.
“Good, so you know how much I don’t want to talk to you.”
“Yeah, except I don’t care.”
“What do you want.”
“You were weird at dinner.”
“No, I wasn’t.”
“Yes, you were!”
“How.”
“You didn’t even react when I tried playing footsies with you.”
“You what?” Regulus asks very confusedly.
“See! You didn’t notice.” Potter points out.
“Why the hell were you trying to play footsies with me?” Regulus asks incredulously.
“To get some reaction out of you,” Potter states as if obvious.
“Why would you purposely want to be insufferable?”
“It’s funny when you’re mad.”
“How is that funny,” Regulus deadpans.
“Your nose does this little scrunch thing and, your eyebrows furrow.”
“Ok? Why is that entertaining for you.”
“It’s cute.”
“Huh?”
“Yeah, well since you aren't going to tell me what’s wrong imma going to sleep,”
Potter says as he leaves Regulus’s room.
Regulus shuts his door and sits on the bed confused.
Did Potter just call him cute?
