The wolf needs the pack
-I can hear you witch, stop thinking about my cock and get changed, I'm hungry - well... shit.
Trying to ignore his filthy language, I get up from the floor and check the clothes he left me on the sink counter; they are simple clothes, a pair of brown trousers and a white shirt together with a small wool shawl, over the clothes are placed some black boots, I frown, unwrap the clothes, looking for underwear, but there is nothing, annoyed I open the bathroom door, finding myself facing Greyback's back who turns and frames an eyebrow when he sees me still in my pyjamas.
-I need underwear," I try to maintain a fierce pose, crossing my arms.
-You don't need it," I'm about to complain but he interrupts me, "NO, you don't, it's in your way and my people resent it, no one wears it here, calm your head, no one will touch you without my permission.
-How can I trust your word," I point at him with a dubious accusation, "you fainted me, you kidnapped me, you took my wand and left me totally uncommunicated, how could I trust you," I'm panting with rage as I finish my little tantrum.
-I didn't kidnap you, we have an agreement," he smiles, but it looks more like a macabre grimace, "remember you agreed to my terms and I agreed to your baby," I look at him incredulously, "you said you wanted to study my pack, here you are, you asked for security, you got it and finally you asked me not to bite any more muggles, and I won't do it anymore, so witch I don't see how I challenge your trust.
-You...you, you took me from my home to a place I don't know - my lip trembles, I hate that he's right in theory he hasn't broken the deal.
-I wasn't going to take my pack to your house for you to study them, it was apparent I would bring you here, and before you upset me by fainting I won't risk you telling anyone the location of my den.
We stare at each other for a few minutes, him daring me to answer him and me trying to find something to refute but he thought of everything, finally, I let out an annoyed snort and lock myself back in the bathroom. I get dressed as slow as I can, not because I'm not hungry, it's just the desire to annoy Greyback even more for outsmarting me this time, but he won't beat me, I'm the best witch of my generation, I helped defeat Voldemort, and I graduated with the best grades at Hogwarts, a rabid wolf won't beat me. Suddenly loud punches interrupt my mental battle for encouragement, I try to ignore them as I finish buttoning my shirt but they become more and more insistent, finally, Greyback opens the door looking furious.
-You can hurry up witch," he stares at me, frozen in his place, finally, he smiles sideways coming closer to me and surrounding me with as he watches me, after a few minutes of observation he stops in front of me, -You look delicious witch, I could eat you right now.
-Try wolf and I'll leave you childless- if my gaze could kill him he'd be buried right now.
-I'd like to see you try sweetie," before I can stop him he wraps his stupid arm around my waist, "just wait a few days love, I can promise you'll love my balls by then.
-Not in your wildest dreams Greyback," I give him a hard shove in his chest trying to push him away but his grip is steel, "let go of me you wild brute.
-I don't want to -with that he lowers his head is our breaths mingle, he stares into my eyes as if searching for something for a moment I think he'll just stand there to tease me but without warning, he kisses me, I try to resist with all my might, he punches his chest and tries to bite it, finally, he pulls away with heavy breathing just like me.
He winks at me and finally releases me without a word leaving me totally petrified in my place, my brain takes its time to process what just happened...I just got kissed by a cannibal killer who is wanted by the ministry of magic and who will most probably end up killing me if I didn't help him to "save" his pack and the worst of all is that despite my desperation to separate from him I liked the kiss, no doubt I must be having Stockholm syndrome there's no other explanation.
I wash my face before finally leaving the bathroom to find the room empty without a single trace of Greyback in the place. ~How strange~ I didn't think he would leave me alone so soon, I guess he trusts me not to escape, big mistake, this is my chance to scan the house for maps to get to the village if I'm lucky I will meet someone who will help me to get to a place where I can contact Harry to inform him what I have found out so far.
I carefully search the room and find nothing, not a map, letter or paper of any kind, disappointed I leave the room finding a long corridor that ends in a wooden staircase, I go down it admiring the delicate leaf carvings that surround the circumference of the railing achieving an intricate design, whoever the craftsman who made it is very talented, you can tell it's handmade work. At the top of the stairs, I find a large living room full of armchairs and many cushions scattered all over the place, there is no one in sight but I can smell an exquisite odour emanating from one of the doors to my left, hungrily I follow the smell into a large kitchen where a medium-sized sturdy woman is waiting for me, where a moderately stout woman dressed in a pretty blue dress is stirring a large metal pot, the woman is barefoot and has her back to me, I shift my gaze to the island-like dining table and find Fenrir's back to me as he leans over a plate of eggs and bacon.
-Sit down and eat witch- I'm not surprised he knew I was there, I reluctantly obey him and sit at the other end of the table as far away from him as possible, he looks at me for a few seconds amused as he shakes his head -Layla, serve your LADY- he emphasizes the last word staring at me, I roll my eyes and ignore him.
The woman hurries to serve another plate with a generous amount of food on it, my stomach growls from hunger, I blush slightly knowing that they can hear it, the woman doesn't comment anything and leaves the plate in front of me with a smile.
-Thank you, Layla," I smile her back.
-It's nothing, my Moon," I grimace.
-Please call me Hermione," Layla looks at Greyback unsurely for permission, he nods although his brow is furrowed.
-It's nothing, Mrs Hermione," that she leaves the room I suppose to attend to other household chores.
The alpha and I eat in silence for a few minutes, I devour everything on my plate quickly, hoping he will leave me alone once he finishes breakfast, hopefully, I can get some information out of the other members of Greyback's pack.
-Why?" I looked at him in confusion.
-Why, what?
-Why, you let her call you Hermione so easily and you get mad when I do," he doesn't look me in the eye.
-She doesn't scare me, she's not a cannibal and most importantly she did NOT kidnap me.
-I didn't kidnap you," he growls annoyed, "You wanted to meet my pack, here I am," he makes a dramatic gesture with his hands, "Anyway, I'll take you to the village in a few days so you can report to Harry or Ginger or whoever, then we'll come back here," I look at him suspiciously.
-You're not lying to me?
-No.
With that simple answer he gets up from his seat and walks past me to finally go out the kitchen door, I shrug my shoulders and continue eating my breakfast, I look out the kitchen window realizing that there are kids in the courtyard, they can't be more than four or five years old, They must be the village kids, I sigh as I watch them play, the old wound in my chest opens up as I remember that Ron was having his first child with another woman in a few months, I look at the remaining food I have lost my appetite but I don't want to waste it so I finish it even with the knot in my stomach.
If I hadn't focused so much on my work maybe I would still be married, maybe I would have a baby now and I would be at home with my husband and not here, a tear falls down my cheek I wipe it quickly, I would like to be a mother, but what wizard would want a woman like me now, the magical world is still very macho in those matters, basically, I'm an outcast since I divorced Ron and even more when it was known that there was another woman, Having a relationship with a non-magical would be too complicated and half-bloods usually look for pureblood partners as well as other muggle-borns, I sigh with difficulty, I will be alone all my life probably, only with Crookshanks to keep me company as I get older, my crying is strong now, I don't want to be alone forever...
Strong arms surround me gently, surprising me, I turn my head and meet Fenrir's hypnotizing blue eyes, he looks at me with something that almost borders on worry, I just cry harder still holding him in his embrace, he doesn't say anything, he just lets me cry, which I am grateful for, I don't like to be weak even less in front of people like him but I can't control myself and his presence is comforting, I cry for a few more minutes until I finally calm down, only then Fenrir releases me, I turn to see him wiping my cheeks with my hands, he moves away a few seconds to come back with a glass of water offering me some water.
-Thank you," I drink some, moistening my throat.
-You're welcome," he pets my head, I don't pull him away, "What made you sad, mate?
-I'm not your mate- he laughs- I was just thinking about my lonely future- he gently pushes my jaw with his hand upwards forcing me to look him in the eyes.
-Why do you think it will be lonely.
-I'm lonely, I'm divorced from Ron.
-Ah, the red-headed coward," he strokes my chin, "don't worry, you'll be by my side, I'll give you the children you want and all my pack will keep you company, your future won't be lonely I assure you.
-You're quite sure I'll accept your proposal," I pull away from his caresses, "I don't wish, want or think about being a werewolf and even less about making love to you or having your children.
-Then you'd rather be alone for the rest of your life than be with me and have a family.
-I don't want any child of mine to suffer every full moon turning into a bloodthirsty animal," he frowns, "plus they'd be denied the education they deserve, we're many years away from coming to terms with werewolf rights yet.
-I think it's time I introduced you to someone- he holds out his hand for me to take, but I ignore him, standing up on my own. -follow me.
We leave the kitchen, as we enter the living room again I find that it is full of children listening attentively to a woman who is reading a children's story, no one notices our presence as we pass through the place, I smile to see the children well dressed and chubby although a bit dirty from playing in the dirt outside the house, I soon lose sight of them as we enter the interior corridors of the house, the place is gigantic, We pass a couple of people on our way but they ignore us and go about their business, we walk through a particularly dark wooden door into a small inner courtyard where several women are tending to a small crop, some carrying babies tied behind their backs, they greet Fenrir cheerfully as we pass, he returns the greeting with nods, I look at them curiously, ~how many of those children will be his~ I think, ignoring the pang of jealousy and walk on following Greyback.
We continue walking down two more corridors finally arriving at a room with an all-white door with no decorations, just a small flower arrangement with a small skull of what I think is some kind of rodent, before knocking Greyback turns to look at me seriously.
-There are two rules inside this room," he looks at me too seriously, I start to get scared, "you must not disobey any of the rules I told you now do you understand?
-Yes
-Well, firstly, never ever, under any circumstances, say the word beast in this place," I nod, "and secondly, the person you will meet now is older than me, I dare say she is as old as your beloved Dumbledore, so you will have respect at all times and you will not look her in the eye, you understand witch.
-Yes, I'll be safe, won't I?" I look at him seriously and nervously.
-If you follow the rules you will be.
With that he turns to the door and knocks three times with surprising delicacy, we wait a few seconds until from inside the room we hear a low whisper "Come in", the voice that resounds is frankly creepy, it gives me chills, Fenrir gives me a last look of silent warning before opening the door gently and entering with his head down, I imitate him, we both enter the place with the most submissive attitude we can, him with respect and me with fear.
The room is slightly illuminated with black candles that are scattered everywhere in the room, there is no bed in the space, the windows are covered with pieces of skins of different animals thus avoiding that the sunlight filters in the place giving the sensation of eternal gloom, to the right of my vision on the chimney there are skulls of squirrels, foxes among others that I don't recognize, possibly magical creatures, The place has a strong smell of blood impregnated, I look in front of me finding a tapestry of white skin that extends along a wall covered with random scratches that end up forming a tree, on the skin is seated a woman, her head is bent down so her long white hair falls on her shoulders, her hands are full of wrinkles and ring has long nails, on her head rests a kind of crown made with two deer antlers, She wears clothes made of animal skin, from her neck hang jewels made of black beads, bones and animal teeth, her nails are black, I can't distinguish if it's because of dirt or paint, strange tattoos run across her skin, slowly Fenrir stops in front of this woman sitting on one side of the fireplace avoiding to raise his head, he turns slightly and makes me a sign to sit behind him, I obey him without hesitation, the place has a vibe that makes my body tremble, it's as if the skulls scattered around the place were looking at me accusingly, telling me that I don't belong here, trembling I look at Greyback's back looking for some comfort while I wait for him to speak or do something, but he only remains silent with his head down, I imitate him, while the minutes pass, my nervousness and fear increase but finally the mysterious woman raises her head and finally speaks.
- So you finally brought her Fenrir- the woman's voice is worn out by the years, it sounds like she's been smoking for decades, it gives me an immediate feeling of discomfort, I feel short of breath, my arms tremble on my knees, my hands turn white, I think I'm going to faint- Finally the one you claimed and lost has come... -what?
