It had taken two years for Dumbledore to secure the location of Thornswood alley.
Originally the home to a collection of pureblood-owned shops, it had been taken over in the winter of 1768 by the Briar Thieve's Guild, which was back then was known as The Pinewoods guild. Ever since that, they'd defended their new territory like dragons, and the location was supposedly lost to time.
It had taken years of relentless searching and question just to find even the general location of it, Amd even then, he had to apparate at least 100 meters away from it, due to the wards. Wards, that, had it been anywhere else, would have been easy to break. However, each Guild each had their own set of wards, keyed to things inside of the wards. Breaking them would take years, if not full on centuries.
So here he was, walking alongside the country road, trying to find something that he would likely not.
