First Year- Brain Storming
Remus Lupin
Remus stayed up last night writing his Mother back, he wanted to write as soon as possible so she knows hes alright.
Its a quick letter , Just saying he doing great and answering all of the questions she asked In her letter, And he told her he’s most definitely coming home for the holidays.
After Remus finishes writing he puts the letter under his bed so he can send it to my Mum tomorrow .
He wakes up in morning to James Potter makes a tune with mouth, and yells "Wake up boys, Snivellus isn't going to get pranked with you lot sleeping!"
"What time is it" Peter says groaning from being woken up rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
"Okay don't get mad guys " James says backing up a little "But its seven in the morning" .
That causes us to all complain .
"Come on James its Saturday" Peter whines
Remus sits up to see Sirius throwing a pillow at James then Peter does the same, both hitting james.
”okay , okay!” he takes a step back from their pillows.
"James , You know I said we'll go to the library at ten, the library isn't even at this time on the weakened" Remus says sitting up some more he throws his pillow hitting James right in the face.
James puts his hand on his chest "C'mon Remus you were my favorite" Remus scoffs.
"Ah, nice one Remus" Sirius says clapping his hands.
Remus throws one of his pillows at Sirius and James burst out laughing.
Sirius now throws a pillow right back at me.
"How mature, Black " remus snaps hitting him with again.
"mature? ha two can play at this game Lupin" he says coming closer hitting Remus
"Make it three" James says hitting us both with a pillow.
Peter hits us all the back of the head "make it four"
We all start wrestling each other pillows flying everywhere and laughs filling up the room.
"Okay, okay" Remus stands up out of breath from laughing at throwing pillows at a group of boys heads. "Stop it" He look down at the boys who are on the ground with flushed cheeks from wrestling.
"awe Remus C'mon" Peter says pouting.
"party pooper" Sirius says blowing a raspberry .
"We have a big day, remember?" Remus adds putting his hands on his hips "And break feast is most likely already on the table down stairs".
Sirius throws a pillow off of him getting up almost instantly "yeah I don't know about you guys, but I'm hungry"
"Me too, lets go" Peter adds.
"Yeah were going to need to have full stomachs if were going to be planning to give Snivellus what he deserves " James says.
We all get ready grab out wands and we head down to breakfast and practically Shovel a bunch onto our plates.
Lily sits down in front of us and James head pops up from his plate " hiya Evans" James smiles
"Shove of Potter" Lily snaps at James. James looks at lily, and Remus can basically see his eyes shape into hearts.
Sirius waves his hand in front of James. James goes unfazed still staring off into the distance at Lily . "Earth to James Potter" Sirius says waving his hand more.
"Oh my Merlin, James " Sirius says shaking his head in disappointment.
Peter elbows James hard enough to get him to realize what he's been doing. And James quickly jolts up.
"James this is becoming a problem" Peter says with a soft laugh.
"Thanks Pete" Sirius says "Yeah James, and your scaring the girl off by staring at her"
"I was staring?" James says flushed .
"Yes you were" remus says with amusement.
"Remus , that's not helping " James says letting a small laugh escape his lips.
"You seem pretty cheered up now that I said that" remus states ,raising his eyebrows.
"Now can we go to the library ? " remus asks
"Right, c'mon lets go Marauders" Sirius says putting his arm around James shoulder.
Were now all seated in the library surrounded by books about magic.
"I'm so excited for this its going to be hilarious " Peter rubs his hands together mischievously .
"Okay Pete we haven't done anything just yet" Sirius says ruffling Peters hair messing it up.
Peter does it back to Sirius's long hair and Sirius gasps.
"Hey! I work hard to maintain these long locks I don-" Sirius stops mid sentence because the librarian shushes him.
Peter snickers at Sirius for getting In trouble .
"You look ridiculous " Peter whispers blowing a raspberry at Sirius
"No you look ridiculous" Sirius says back blowing back at Peter
"You both ridiculous" remus states.
“Ah hush “ Sirius ruffles Remus’s hair, “ now you look ridiculous “
Sirius shoots his eyes to James who’s hair has not yet been ruffled.
"No Sirius, not my hair” James leans away, but Sirius gets him messing up his head of curls.
Remjs looks up from my charm book "I swear to merlin if the lot of you don't shut up I'm using one of these charms on you" he threatens.
Sirius opens his mouth to say something when Remus starts rapidly taping that the book.
"This is it, oh my this is it" remus says about to jump up from excitement. But I contain myself.
"What , what is it ?" The boys all ask.
"Rain charm " I blurt out
They all look at each other then back to me .
"Remus that's it!" James says
"Wait how do we do it?" Peter asks
"Wait, damn it , it says its for more advanced wizards its only our second week." Remus sulks in defeat.
James and Peter sigh.
"Okay, okay we can still figure out something" Sirius says putting his hand to his chin.
"forget it Sirius it was stupid idea anyways" he adds
"Come on boys , we're The Marauders , we don't take no for an answer, so stop sulking we'll figure out something else"
"Yeah, Its alright we can think of something else" James says with enthusiasm.
"How about we dye his robes hot pink" Peter says grinning.
"Or, we could dye his hair pink " Sirius snorts and James laughs.
Remus looks back to the charm book and Remus sees a charm called Colovaria .
"The Color Change Charm also known as Colovaria , Colovaria is a charm that changes the color of the object you try in it on, only last for about a twenty four hours after changing" remus states reading from the book.
look at the Sirius James and Peter and they're all grinning .
Hw looks back at the book . "it seems easy enough"
"This is genius, Snivellus is going to look ridiculous " James snickers.
It says you point it at the object you are changing the color of and say Colovaria and the color you are changing it to.
Remus grabs a piece of paper and crumples it up. He grabs his wand out of his pocket "Colovaria, pink" remus says pointing at the paper.
The paper does nothing.
Remus try's it again and the boys start trying it with there paper, Nothing happens. He look back at the paper and it says to move your hand in the an S movement.
Remus tries again "Colovaria Pink" he says the paper turns a bright pink for about a second and turns back.
Remus gasps and trys it again the paper turns pink for a moment.
"Remus you almost got it" Peter cheers.
Remus trys it again and it stays pink.
Sirius claps his hands together
"Oh my merlin! Remus you're a genius" James says standing up and practically jumping around.
"Great job Remus!"
"We should still practice this more until we use it on Snivellus"
"Yeah"
Hours past and It's now the ended the day, and we have perfected the spell.
"Can we go now?" Peter whines
"Yeah, we didn't even eat lunch" Sirius complains.
"I'm starving" James groans
"alright ,alright, will you lot stop complaining we'll go" Remus says sighing
We head down to dinner and a bunch of people are already there.
We sit down at the table and start stuffing our faces with food.
"hi Remus" A girl that hes only seen a couple times in class since hes been here .
"Hi" Remus mumbles. Remus’s expertise are not talking to girls, his house has just been girls since he was little. But girls his age are different then his mother and aunt.
"I'm, Mary" the girl says, Remus looks up and she's looking at remus with a soft and caring smile.
"Nice to meet you ,Mary" Remus gives a slight smile back and return his eyes back down to his plate.
"Its nice too meet you too, oh and these are my friends Marlene, and Lily but I know you guys have already met"
I look back up to see Lily and a brunette girl.
"Its uh nice to meet you all" he says shyly
"I'm Sirius " Sirius says sticking his nose in the air with full confidence taking the attention off Remus.
Which he’s honestly grateful for, he hates talking to people , and he especially hates meeting people.
"This Is my friend James Potter, and My friend Peter Pettigrew, and obviously Remus already introduced himself."
Eyes go back on me, and he just puts his lips in to a straight line of a smile. He’s look around the room for a bit and then he remembers , his letter!
He never sent it to his mom, It completely slipped his mind.
He jumpa up quick about to leave. When he hears Sirius's voice.
"Remus, what's wrong?" Sirius asks standing up.
"What? Nothing, I just, I forgot to do something " he say trying to hurry up the conversation. "I have to go Sirius " he says
"Can I come?" Sirius face brightens up.
"whatever I just have to hurry before curfew" remus says
Sirius and Remus get to their dorm and he goes under his bed and grabs his letter to his Mum .
We start walking to the owlery.
"So, a letter?" Sirius asks with a a curious grin.
Remus nod .
"Lady friend?" Sirius ask raising his eyebrows.
Remus snorts laughing and quickly contains himself , " A lady friend , Seriously ? No I'm writing my Mum"
"Did you just snort?" Sirius says looking like he's about to burst out laughing.
He shoves Sirius. "Me snort? No" Remus scoffs
Sirius shoves me back. "No , I definitely heard a snort Remus Lupin "
"ah piss off Black" Remus shoves Sirius a final time.
Sirius blows a raspberry at me.
"Ugh you are so immature" remus rolls his eyes.
"Says the one that snorts" Sirius laughs
"Shut it" Remus says with annoyance lacing his voice.
We get up to the owlery and Sirius asks "Why were you so urgent to write your Mum?"
"Well uhm my Mums she's been sick so I don't want her to worry if I don't respond quick enough to not stress her out. The stress isn't good for her" remus shrugs
"Oh, that makes sense" Sirius responds sounding like he doesn't want to ask anymore questions.
"The last thing I want is for her to be worried about me" remus adds looking down to his feet.
"Isn't your Father there to help?" Sirius asks tilting his head to the side.
"He uh-" the words get caught in his throat.
Just breath.
In and out
In and out.
"Its okay we don't have to talk about it if you don't want to " Sirius says genuinely patting Remus's back.
He feels his body finally let him take a deep breath.
Remus see my owl come towards me. I've never done this before, Does my owl actually give it to my mom.
"Here " Sirius says grabbing the letter and giving to the owl. My owl flies off into the distance.
Remus slides down the all and sit down on the ground. Hugging my legs close to my chest
He looks to Sirius and Sirius is looking at him.
"Remus where did you get those scars?"
Remus feels his words get caught up in his throat again
Remus puts his head down so the scars on his face are hidden.
"They aren't that noticeable " I say not sure If I'm lying to him of myself, It might just be both.
"Do you want me to show you something? But you must swear to not tell anyone, not James and not Peter, no one."
Remus lifts his head. "I swear" he says nodding his head.
Sirius lifts up his shirt a little to reveal four jagged scars going across his chest going . It’s nothing like Sirius, who’s all neat and mannered, his scars are the opposite.
remus hugs his knees closer to his chest.
"We all got scars y'know?" Sirius whispers.
Remus doesn’t answer.
"It gives a story, each and every one, even if there not good ones" Sirius continues "It just really depends on how you look at them"
Remus just sits there, not saying anything . He should say something , he wants to say something. But nothing comes out.
Finally something comes out of my mouth, but its the wrong thing.
"Look I don't care , you and me we aren't friends so stop treating me like someone you can take pity on!" Remus shout standing up.
Sirius flinches back at my harsh tone. He looks hurt at his sudden rudeness .
"Remus I didn't mean-" Sirius starts saying before Remus cuts him off
"Just leave me alone! " he snaps, storming out.
Anger fills his mind , he knows he shouldn't of gotten angry like that but he really couldn't help It this is why he stays away. So he doesn’t hurt , so he doesn't damage. He only breaks things.
Hw want to be normal.
He walk off to his dorm he pivots into his bed and closes his curtains and drowns hisself in bed sheets.
"Just go to sleep sweetie you'll feel better in the morning" he hears his mothers voice in the back of my head.
This somehow calms remus down enough and he eventually falls asleep.
