"STOP!! I DON'T NEED HELP FROM YOU OR ANYONE ELSE!!!"
"YEAH WELL GUESS WHAT! YOU GOT MY HELP WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!! AND NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY I AM NOT LEAVING YOU TILL YOU'RE SAFE!!"
Severus stayed silent, he couldn't help but stare at Evan. He was feeling so many emotions at once but the one emotion that over took him at this moment was pure confusion. Why was Evan helping him? He didn't deserve to be helped.
Anyone who tried to help him would just wound up hurt either by his attackers or by himself. The first person to try and help him was his mother. She tried protecting him from his father and she seemed to end up in a worse state then he did afterwards.
The second person was Lily, she had tried helping him and she wound up getting hurt by his words. She had ended up wounding him with words of her own but whatever she said went unheard cause all he could focus on was the tears forming in her eyes.
And now it was Evan's turn. Severus didn't know how Evan was gonna get hurt and he didn't want to be the cause of it like he was with everyone else. He had just watched Lily get hurt now he has to watch Evan. He couldn't take more heartbreak.
He may have lost his friendship with Lily but he didn't want to lose his friendship with Evan.
"Just go away!" He shouted out in a last attempt to protect him but his words went unheard by the boy standing in front of him and shielding him from everyone else.
"You know maybe you should listen to snivellus here and piss off" Sirius spoke in annoyance and pulled out his own wand.
Evan simply glared and aimed his own wand at his so called cousin "If you think for one second I am going to let you or your friends lay another hand on Severus again you have lost your bloody mind!!" He shouted out in anger. Sirius simply glared at him and James just scoffed at his words.
"None of this concerns you Rosier" James stated and Evan simply smiled "Well that's were you're wrong Potter, I'm not fond of people who hurt the ones I care about" He spoke with calmness but the anger was still present in his eyes.
Sirius growled lowly "To hell with this!" He shouted out and quickly casted expelliarmus. But as quick as he was Evan seemed to be quicker and deflected the spell before it hit him. This seemed to anger Sirius but that anger quickly vanished seeing as Evan had hit him with an expelliarmus of his own and was practically thrown back.
James stared in shock and anger and attempted to cast a spell of his own. Tho Evan seemed to have of thought of this and quickly hit James with scourgify. He smiled as he watched James cough and then hit him with a stinging hex along with an expelliarmus. He then summoned both James and Sirius's wand and broke them both before chucking the pieces into the lake.
Remus and Peter stood by and watched in shock as their friends were quickly taken down and watched as Evan destroyed their wands. Neither of them had the nerve to try and help seeing as they knew they would end with the same fate as them.
Evan glanced over at them and sent them a death glare "If either one of you come near Severus again or call him that heinous nickname you'll all suffer a worse fate then today" He stated. They both simply nodded and backed up in fear before rushing to aid their fallen friends.
Evan turned around to face Severus who was staring at him with wide eyes. He knelt down in front of him and placed his hand on his shoulders "Are you alright?" He asked softly. Severus simply nodded, he didn't know what to say but not only that he was still in shock at what just happened.
"Can you stand? We should go" Evan said but Severus didn't have the energy to stand or to simply move at all, so he shook his head in response. Evan nodded and slipped his arm behind Severus's back and the other underneath his legs. He lifted him up and quickly took off before any of the professors showed up.
Evan took Severus to the abandoned classroom that they transfigured into their own little hideaway. Once there he set Severus down on the small couch "Severus are you okay?" He asked again and this time he was given a verbal response.
"I- uh- yeah no...I'm fine" Severus spoke out finally having snapped out of his shocked state "Why..."
Evan tilted his head in confusion "Why What?" He questioned. Severus began to shake and pushed Evan away "Why'd you help me! You could have gotten hurt!" He shouted out as tears began forming in his eyes.
"You could have gotten hurt and it would have been my fault!!" He added and Evan couldn't help but stare as Severus broke down. He didn't like seeing him cry especially after the night he'd had came back to their room at night in complete panic and fear.
Evan felt his heart break and simply pulled Severus into his arms. Severus clung to him as he continued to cry. Neither of them said a word and soon it became completely quiet in the room. Evan slowly pulled away and wiped away Severus's tears "Sev..." He spoke softly.
Severus looked up at him and said nothing so Evan simply continued "I did what I did because I love you and I couldn't just stand by and watch you get hurt" He said as he gently caressed his cheek. Severus was taken back by his words, he wasn't sure if he heard him right "What did you say-" He breathed out.
Evan smiled softly at him and placed his other hand on his other cheek "I love you...I love you and I couldn't stand to watch anyone hurt you" He stated. Severus felt his cheeks heat up and tried to look away but Evan had his hands on his cheeks which held him in place, so he simply closed his eyes.
"You're lying..."
"I'm not, I don't think I can lie to you"
Severus opened his eyes "Why... if you're telling the truth then why me?" He asked nervously "Because you're amazing, and smart, and brave, and wise, and caring, and so much more" Evan said which made Severus turn beat red.
"There are so many reason as to why I love you and I would gladly tell you each and everyone of them so long as you stay by my side and as long as you allow me to stay by yours" He added when he got no response.
Severus began to tear up again, he opened his mouth to say something but no words came out. So instead he leaned forward and planted his lips on Evan's.
Evan was taken back by his actions but he quickly regained his composer and kissed back. After a few minutes Severus pulled back and threw himself into Evan's arms and buried his face in his chest. Evan simply smiled as he wrapped an arm around him and used his other to stroke his hair.
The room was completely quiet again but after a minute or two the silence was over.
"Evan...."
"Yes?"
"I love you too"
