They were going on tour.
Of course that had already been known by them and most of their fanbase, but the dates had been officially announced and tickets had been sold. With the album being three months old, it had garnered enough attention to book bigger venues and even a few Stadiums. They even had their own tour bus, their faces on the side of it in all of its tacky glory. All they had to do now was show up.
Which had always been easier said than done.

“Turn off your fucking ringer.” Sirius groaned from behind him, Remus chuckled. He could hear the rustled 9f the blankets as Sirius turned to face him, his arms slipping around Remus’ waist as he tucked his head behind his back.
“We’re meant to be up already.” Remus mumbled, hand going down to tangle it with Sirius’, “We have to be at the bus in an hour.”
“The whole point of packing yesterday was so we didn't have to get up early,” Sirius said, “and it is… what time is it?”
“4 am.”
“What the fuck,” HE whined, pulling away from Remus to dramatically flop backwards on the bed, spreading out like a starfish, “It's 4 am, Moony. That is not ok.”
“We need to be in Bristol by 7, Sirius.”
“This is such bullshit.” Sirius sighed, grabbing a pillow and putting it over his face, “I thought being famous was supposed to be fun.”
“Oh you poor thing,” Remus patted his exposed shoulder, “Now get up. You don't want James to come round and find you here again, do you?”
It had been four months since that album release party, several since the blow-up, and a whole year since he had been denying his feelings. Character development at its finest. They hadn't quite been dating, but they hadn't not been either. The lines blurred with the two of them, were the implications romantic or platonic? Did he love Remus as a friend or more? A fun game of will they, won't they?
In the end, they were always going too.
Like the moon and the stars in the sky, they were never meant to be far from each other.
It had taken a long time, to build the foundation of something that could resemble a healthy relationship. Despite their long friendship, they had both found it hard to really talk to each other when it came to their relationship, things that bothered them, things they did want, and the things they didn't. Their long history of miscommunication reared its ugly head often, leading to long silences and petty arguments, but with those came quiet apologies, and deep conversations. Nowadays, they were more confident in what they had, moving without fear of breaking the fragile serenity of just the two of them.
And it wasn't like they were hiding it either, they just didn't want to make a big deal of it if they decided to just call it off in the end. They didn't go out of their way to tell their friends, but they didn't act any differently around them. They still held hands and shared smokes, sat close to each other and let their touches linger. It really wasn't their fault James and Peter hadn't caught on yet.
Ok, maybe they were hiding it a bit, especially the time Sirius hid in his closet when James and Lily unexpectedly came over…
But that wasn't going to last much longer, they were about to be stuck in a tour bus with each other for six months, and in all honesty, Remus was ready to be Sirius’ boyfriend.
God after all this time, he was ready.

They were out of the house by 4:30. They were in a car with the rest of the Marauders by 4:40. And they were at the dropoff by 5:00, the giant tour bus parked and waiting for them.
“Oh my god, it's red.” James said excitedly, looking out the window of the SUV they were in, “And our faces are on it. We look really pretty.”
“My eye looks a bit wonky.” Peter said, looking at the side of the bus with a contemplative look, “They really did me dirty putting me right on the window edge.”
“You look handsome, what are you on about?” James mumbled, “I need to take a photo for my mum and Lily.”
They were just waiting now for Minerva and the rest of the team to show up and give them the all-clear to go, it was her first tour with the boys and had different expectations than Jamie had had. Remus couldn't wait to learn them. One of the new things that Minerva had let them do was invite someone to come along with them, even if for just a short time. James had been ecstatic when he learned that Lily really could come with him on tour, or at least at the end of it. Another new thing Minerva had done was let them choose their openers, which Peter had jumped to suggest the Longbottoms, and since they were signed with Minerva already it wasn't hard to get them to agree to open their shows in Wales and Scotland.
“Has Marlene texted you?” Sirius asked, holding his phone for Remus to see the text she had sent him, Remus pulled out his phone to find a similar looking one.

marlene: dorcas wants me to add to not get anyone pregnant but I dont think that problem applies to you
marlene: shes giggling at herself.
Remus huffed a laugh at the message, “They seem to be having fun living together.”
Marlene and Dorcas had moved in together not too long after it came out that she and Remus were not actually star-crossed lovers, finding a nice little house in Scotland near Marlene’s parents. He and Sirius had gone to visit a few times and had even gotten to see Marlene play in person, sporting new jersey colours.
“They are, Mary told me last week when she went to visit that they just painted the living room. Emerald green, apparently. They’re going for a witchy vibe.”
“Speaking of Mary,” Remus said, “I thought she’d be here by now.”
Mary had been hand-picked to dress the boys for the tour, it was the perfect publicity for her new fashion line, and she had also loved the idea of helping her friends out. Her only condition was that Emmeline Vance be with her, creating the outfits with her, and everyone was more than happy to oblige.
“I didn't.” Sirius shrugged, “She is not a morning person, want to bet she almost misses the bus?”
Remus gave it some thought, before taking Sirius up on his bet. The worst that could happen was that he loses five quid.
This was going to be a great tour.
He just knew it.

“You dont think we did this too fast?” Sirius asked quietly from where he laid on Remus’ chest. They were already more than halfway done with their tour, only two months left and already there was talking of doing an American tour. The four months had been a nice blur of concerts, interviews, sneaky dates, and calm nights spend next to each other. Remus couldnt remember being happier thna he was right now.
“I dont think so.” Remus mumbled, plantig a kiss to the top of Sirius head, he was quiet for a few moments contemplating if he should say what he wanted, “I love you, and I want people to know that.”
Sirius went ridgid when the words hit his ears and for a moment Remus thought he ruined everything, that he had set back half a year of progress, but then Sirius looked up and tears in his eyes and hesitantly whispered, “You love me? Really?”.
“Since I met you.”
And then sirius was scrambling up to plant a kiss to Remus’ lip, a laugh bubbling up of pure joy, and for a few moments Remus held the entire world in his hands.
He was right. It had been a good tour.
