James and Peter were the only ones left in the common room due to how late it was. They would of gone to bed ages ago but the other members of their group where still missing. its not that they were worried about Remus and Sirius, they knew that they could handle themselves, they were just curious as to where they were. After about 5 minutes the door to the room swung open and in walked Remus and Sirius, red faced, messy haired and giggling
"Where were you two" James asked
"Just having a good ol' chat with McGonagall" Sirius replied nonchalantly
Technically that was true as the boys were caught by McGonagall making out in the hallways. She said that they should do what needed to be done in the privacy of their dorm and sent them on their way.
"Did you get a detention for being out after curfew" Peter asked
"Uhm no, I, I wanted to ask her something about my transfiguration homework and Sirius offered to come with me"
"That's it, well that's boring, but now that you guys are back we can finally go to sleep" James sighed
"Wait, we had transfiguration homework" Peter squeaked
"We always do wormy" Sirius said making his way up to the dorm
As they were falling asleep James heard the bed next to him squeak like the nights before but brushed it off assuming it was just Sirius rolling over
------------- Monday Morning --------------
James got back from quidditch practice to find the other marauders still asleep. He grabbed a pillow off his bed and threw it at Sirius
"Oi, Wanker" James yelled, stirring Remus and Peter awake
"Turn the sun off" Sirius groaned
"You didn't come to quidditch practice again!"
This time Remus groaned, Sirius had missed practice for the past 5 days and in result he was woken up by James's and Sirius's yelling
"Well maybe if you made practice at a reasonable hour, i would come" Sirius resigned to getting up and ready
"Come on Sirius, how are we going to win if you never show up to practice
"Ok, Okay, ill make it tomorrow, I promise"
James rolled his eyes, that had been Sirius's reply for the past five mornings
"Would you guys stop bickering and get ready, I'm starving"
"Yeah" Peter nodded in agreement with Remus
So they all made their way to the great hall and sat next to Marlene, Mary and lily.
"Always a pleasure Evans" James said bowing towards her
Lily rolled her eyes but giggled
"She's warming up to me lads" James turned back to the others
Sirius squished up next to Remus, wanting to be as close as possible even though they were laying together only a couple hours previous. For a while now they have been sneaking into each others beds and then sneaking back to their own beds before dawn. Remus went to get his usual breakfast - two pieces of toast cut in half with a different topping on each slice and a glass of pumpkin juice - but Sirius beat him to it, spreading the toppings on the toast and handing it to Remus. He muttered a quick thanks before eating. He wouldn't tell anyone but Remus loved it when Sirius made his breakfast, it made him feel special.
Both Sirius and Remus thought this gesture went unnoticed but they didn't know that lily had seen. Lily thought it was unusual that they were sitting that close together as well, but Sirius and Remus were always close that way. Once the group finished breakfast they all went off to class.
------- After lunch -------------
James was sitting next to Sirius in transfiguration and kept getting distracted - not that he minded much, it was a pretty boring lesson - by Sirius who kept writing and re writing a note on his book. Once he seemed satisfied with what he wrote he ripped it from the book and started folding it into a paper airplane
"Dude, what are you doing" James nudged Sirius
"Um Nothing"
"It dosent look like it, who are you sending that note to"
"Its no one important okay"
"omg your not breaking up with another girl after a one night stand are you" James face palmed
"What? No!, I'm beyond that"
"Oh are you now"
"Yes now would you shut up, I'm trying to line this up" Sirius got ready to throw his paper plane
unfortunately their conversation had brought their attention to McGonagall and just as Sirius threw the note she snatched it out of the air. Sirius blushed bright red.
"You should know by now Mr Black not to pass notes in class" McGonagall opened and read the note
Unfazed she continued
"Next time, Black, please don't plan your trip to Zonko's in class" she folded up the note, and subtlety slid it onto Remus's desk
"Mate how could you, planning a trip to Zonko's and you didn't even inform me"
"Shhhhhhh" Sirius was staring at Remus
Remus opened the note and it read
'To Remus
You really are amazing you know that
cant keep my eyes off you and all your doing is writing down notes
love Sirius'
Remus blushed a bright red and hide his face in his book. Merlin Sirius thought, He's so cute
Sirius was pulled out of his daydream by James
--------- Tuesday night ------------
Sirius and Remus were in the boys dorm, James and peter had been sent to do a job so they had the room to themselves for a bit. They had a few of Sirius records playing in the background and were seated on Remus's bed
"Why did you send me that note in transfiguration yesterday" Remus fidgeted with his sleeve cuffs
"I don't know, I just saw you sitting there and realized that I really did love you"
"Wait, you love me"
They had never actually said 'I love you' to each other, sure they knew that they loved each other but it was never said out loud
"Well yeah"
"Aw, I love you to Sirius" They both grinned wide and Remus pulled Sirius in for a kiss
It wasn't rough or wet, but slow and passionate
"Who knew I turned Sirius Black into a sap"
"Shut up" Sirius grinned and pushed Remus
They were now play fighting and somehow Sirius ended up laying down with Remus straddling his hips
They looked at each other before Sirius pulled Remus into a kiss. This time unlike the kiss before, it was rough passionate and full of meaning, they needed each other. Everything seemed to fade away and all that mattered was them. Remus had his hands in Sirius's hair and Sirius had started undoing the buttons on Remus's shirt. They were both trying to get as close to each other as physically possible. There were hands everywhere, roaming up and down each others bodies and in each others hair, but as soon as they started they had to stop because James and Peter had returned slamming the door. They scrambled off each other, quickly fixing their clothing.
"What were you two doing" James asked
the two on the bed panicked
"Sirius, he uh, choked on a chocolate frog, I had to do CPR" Remus nodded solemnly
"You choked on a chocolate frog" Peter asked quietly
"Yeah, I'm such a clutz, anyway what's got you two all mad"
"We were just doing our job and filch gave us both detention for being out" James rolled his eyes
"Yeah, we even explained what we were doing but he didn't listen"
"What that sucks, damn sorry bout the detention" Sirius said while getting up and moving back to his bed. Remus felt lonely
"Its fine, its not that bad I guess" James sighed moving towards the bathroom
Peter eyed Sirius and Remus skeptically not fulling believing the choking story
Later on that night James heard Sirius bed moving again and this time someone saying a silencing charm
------------ Wednesday ------------
They were walking to their charms lesson the girls in front and James and Peter close behind them. Sirius and Remus had hung back, James had turned around to say hurry up when he saw that Remus planted a kiss on Sirius's lips. Now Sirius might have been choking on a chocolate frog last night, but he definitely wasn't now and a kiss was too much of an intimate gesture for friends. This is the moment that James realized something needed to be done so throughout the rest of the day he told lily, Marlene, Peter and Mary to meet him in the library tomorrow afternoon for an emergency meeting
---------- Thursday afternoon ----------
"okay, so your all probably wondering why I gather you here today" James announced loudly
There was some distant shushing and some coming from Lily.
"Anyway, I'm sure that most of you have noticed that something is going on with Sirius and Remus" James lowered his voice
"Is this why their not here, are we talking about them" Mary asked
"well yes, but not in a bad way, don't worry"
"I have noticed something between them, they always sit closer than necessary at meal times. That's just how they are though, you cant possibly be suggesting"
"They were passing notes to each other in transfiguration. At first I thought Sirius was breaking up with a girl again but McGonagall put the note on Remus's desk"
"Remus is a perfect, McGonagall was probably giving it to Remus so he could get rid of it" Marlene chimed in
"peter and I saw them in a very reveling position, didn't we wormy"
"Yeah, we did. Remus said he was doing CPR, but I doubt that, who chokes on a chocolate frog"
"I did see them walking into the common room late at night together. They were very giggly, but that's nothing" Mary said skeptically
"Yes, and I saw them kissing as we were walking to charms, come on guys. You cant see that and say their not dating"
"But Sirius is straight!" Mary replied
"We don't know for sure"
"HE DATED ME FOR A GOOD WHILE" Mary whisper shouted
"ok, okay chill. The point of this meeting was to discuss if we all agree that something is going on between them, so do we agree" James grabbed their attention once again
There was a general murmur of 'yes' throughout
"Okay, so what me and wormy were thinking is that, we possibly let Moony and Padfoot know that we know about them"
"Well who's gonna ask them"
"My dear Lily, who said anything about plain old asking, we have to be unique"
"Potter what are you thinking" Lily sighed
"A song..."
"A song!" Marlene yelled possibly a bit too loudly as they were once again met with loud shushing
"Yes, we will sing them a song" James said confidently
"Why would we do that" Mary asked
"Well, they both like music" Peter said
"OKAY, its decided we will sing them a song"
"But we don't have any lyrics or beats or instruments" Marlene protested
"We can transfigure the instruments and I was thinking that maybe we could have a meeting here every Thursday so we can practice, obviously we would have to cast a silencing charm but still"
"I cant sing though" Marlene said quietly
"You don't have to sing if you don't want to" James reassured Marlene
"I'm not singing either than" Peter said
"Okay, so me, Lily and Mary will sing. I was thinking we could have 2 versus and 2 chorus's"
"That sounds good"
"Okay, ill meet you guys back here, Thursday. Maybe we could brainstorm beats and tempos while were away"
"Okay!"
And with that the meeting was over and the plan was in full swing.
James and Peter made their way back up to the dorm where Remus and Sirius were sharing a cigarette. Just in case they stomped extra loud on the steps up so they didn't walk in on anything
"How was detention" Sirius asked
"detention?" Peter looked at James confused
"Detention.." James stared at Pete wide eyed
"Uhm, yeah, how was it"
"Boring" James said and Peter shook his head vigorously
Remus snatched the cigarette back off Sirius
James went over to talk to Peter and cast the muffilato spell
"Damn, I forgot all about detention"
"Yeah, were gonna have to go tomorrow now"
"Its fine Wormy, we will just be honest and say we forgot"
"Okay"
All four of them went off to get ready for bed
After weeks of going to the library they finally got the song ready, now all they have to do is perform it. Remus and Sirius stopped believing that Peter and James had detention after the second week. Over the weeks Sirius and Remus got mad at James and Peter for not including them in whatever secret activity they were doing Thursday afternoons and with the full moon only 3 days away Remus was very agitated
"Hey guys" James and Peter walked into the dorm after their final rehearsal
Remus didn't answer and Sirius only grunted
"Damn detention was horrible" Pete said trying to lie convincingly
Remus rolled his eyes
"You don't actually think we believe the detention excuse"
"What do you mean" James asked innocently
"We know your sneaking off somewhere every Thursday" Sirius replied
"No we aren't!"
"Yes, you are!"
"Would you stop lying!" Remus yelled
"Were not"
"Its bad enough that you aren't inviting us to join your little gang every Thursday but why lie to us. You know what I get that you wouldn't invite me, I'm just some poor care home kid to you but I thought Sirius was your best mate and frankly your hurting his feelings, which makes me upset. When did you guys decide to become wankers" Remus got up and left
"Sirius, did you really feel like I was abandoning you"
"I, I just thought that you wanted a break from me, I get I can complain a lot but I didn't think it annoyed any of you. I can stop if you like"
'I, Sirius. I never wanted a break from you and I don't think that you annoying at all" James walked over to Sirius and pulled him into a hug
"does Remus seriously think that I think of him as some care home freak" Sirius nodded slowly
"Uhm, I think we should tell them the truth prongs" Peter chimed in
"Yeah, I think so too"
They all made there way down to the common room to find Remus. He was over by the windowsill smoking
"You know those things kill you" James asked wearily
"Like you would care"
"Remus, I do care. I would never think of you as a care home freak"
"He is telling the truth Moony" Sirius walked up to him and sat next to him and rubbed his back
"So what's this secret your finally going to tell us" Sirius asked
"Well before we tell you, we should probably get the girls"
"There girls were involved in this too" Remus asked
"yes, but before you get mad, were not hiding anything from you and were not trying to cut you out, right wormy"
"yes" Pete nodded quickly
James went up and got the girls, of course he wasn't allowed into the dorm, and he didn't know what would happen if he knocked so he decided on yelling out to them. Once they were all back in the boys dorm room, they got to explaining. Remus and Sirius were sitting on the bed and the others gathered round them
"Okay so, we have actually been sneaking off to talk about you guys, and not in a bad way!" James said quickly
"What are you going on about"
"well we, uhm, how do I put this"
"we kinda wrote you guys a song" Lily interjected
"A song, about what" Remus asked confused
"How about we just perform it to you guys, then you will see"
"Uhm okay" They both said
So the group standing made quick work of transfiguring some items into instruments. Turned out Mary didn't want to sing a verse to herself so it was just James and Lily then Mary joining in at the chorus. Marlene and Peter grabbed an instrument and started playing the tune that they made up.
"Everybody's talking about it, Everybody knows that it's true, Sirius, you're in love with Remus, Remus is into you too" James started

The others joined in for the chorus

Sirius and Remus were speechless, not only did their friends know about their secret relationship but they made up a song about them

"Very much" Sirius smiled
"So, uhm, you guys know that were gay, and your ok with it"
"Yeah, did you not hear the song" Marlene said
Remus smiled. He was so happy they accepted him. He thought that being a werewolf and gay would be to much for them and they would want to leave him. Of course Sirius would go with James, and he would be all alone, but that's not the case and that made him over the moon
"I do have one question though" Mary asked
"Sirius, if your gay, why did you go out with me?"
"I didn't know back then but I also thought I was bisexual for a while, it wasn't until Remus showed up in those muggles clothes all badass one year that I knew" He hit Remus on the shoulder playfully
"Seriously guys, you don't know how much it means to me that your all okay with everything" Remus looked up at them
They all smiled at each other and said
"Anything for our Moony!"
"Hey that's my line" Sirius laughed, they all laughed
it had been a good day
