Hermione thrust the door open, the Ministry were forcing her into so much work, and for once, she didn't like it.
"Ron, I'm home! Ro-" She was interrupted by two warm arms wrapping themselves around her waist.
"Ron, are you- " Ron's arms invited themselves thurther up her waist, wracking tears shredding heavily.
"Oh, sshhhh, hold on.." Said Hermione, placing down her keys on the counter next to her, before sliding her black bag off her shoulder, quickly placing it down on the floor.
"Ssshhh, I know, I know..." She reassured, guiding herself and Ron to the sofa, sitting herself down while Ron kept his head nuzzled in her chest.
"Hey, you're okay. Shh, I love you." Said Hermione, rubbing his back, slowly Ron moved his head up onto her shoulder, briefly calming down.
"What's wrong?" Asked Hermione, still in a soft comforting tone. "It's okay, take it easy."
"I m-m-miss Fred...more than usual, and then I started to miss you more....mmm," Said Ron, hiding his head in Hermione's not-so-bushy-anymore hair.
"Hey, he's still with you. Fred wouldn't like to see you like this." She said, holding his hand tightly.
"I w-wish he c-could see me...with you,...he's the only one who hasn't seen me..with you..." Ron caught his hand in her hair.
"Whoops, sorry, 'Mione."
"Shhh, he's still with us. You know where? Here." Hermione moved her hand to touch where his heart would be on his chest. Noticing he was struggling to keep eyes open, she suggested an idea:
"Let's get you some rest, yeah?"
"Mhm..." Ron replied lazily.
Hermione softly carried Ron up to their bedroom, before pulling him closer, enclosing him in a warm embrace, and playing with his hair, just the way he loved it.
