the UNO saga.

It’s been a few days since An went into this horrid boarding school. She’s been.. Oddly growing closer to Tsukasa, despite him—apparently-–being her senior, she thought this wasn’t too bad at all. One day, when her alarm didn’t go off, she realized she had 5 minutes to get to a class she’s never been to.

Knowing it was probably going to be 26 buildings away–she put on random socks she found—Probably Akitos—Her wrinkled uniform, her backpack and a slice of cheese from the fridge.

Basically leaping down the stairs–nearly tripping–she looked at the directions. “Biology.. Here!” Running there, she tried to grab her phone to calculate how much time she had until class started. But as she looked through her backpack, she bumped into somebody.

Clashing foreheads, she fell to the floor. She really didn’t have time for this. Looking up at who it was, was another girl. She’s seen her a few times around the hallways, pretty hard to miss due to her cotton pink hair.

She’s bumped into way too many people since she’s been here, can she not catch a damn break? “I’m so sorr–” Before she could finish, the pink haired girl had already gotten up and reached out a hand for her.

“Heya, sorry. It was my fault.” She sheepishly grinned. “I wasn’t looking, fufu.” Once An took her hand, she introduced herself as Mizuki. She was in the same grade and apparently she was on the same dorm floor as her too.

An introduced herself as well and told her how rushed she was this morning and even pointed out the wrinkles on her shirt. “None of my roommates reminded me to wake up, now i’ll be late to biology.. jerks.”

Once the blue haired girl told her that she needed to get to biology, Mizuki smiled happily. “Haha! I’m going there too! What a coincidence, huh?”

But wasn’t she going the other way?

An shook her head and thought she probably got lost in this maze of a damn school. Mizuki talked about how she’s been here for a few years now. “Yeah, I’ve been here since middle school. Something to do with me being a troublemaker or whatever.. I’ve grown to enjoy school here so I’m continuing until graduation!” An nodded in acknowledgement, Mizuki seemed pretty cool. If someone as cool as her enjoys it here, maybe she can too?

“Yeah, well, there really aren’t that many cute guys here.” An said in a hushed tone, worried that if she said it any louder the words would slip out of her mouth and announce it to the whole school. “Then you probably haven’t seen them yet.” Running her hands through the bumps of the lockers, she looked back at An with a smile on her face.

Who is them?

As the two walked to biology, they were blessed to see the teacher had just entered the classroom as well. They weren’t as late as they thought they were. Entering the classroom, Mizuki went straight to her seat way in the back. As An wanted to follow her, she was—quite rudely—stopped by the teacher. “Class, this is a new student here and I expect you all to be kind to her.”

As the chatter of the classroom stopped to stare at An, she felt herself swallow a lump in her throat she didn’t even know was there. None of the other classes did this.. Why now..?

“Uhm.. Hi. My name’s Shraishi An.” She said sort of awkwardly. She couldn’t lie, she was far from an introvert. But seeing all these people she didn’t know stare at her made her feel like a monster on a hill. Turns out, most people here are like Mizuki. Came during middle school, enjoyed their stay here and was too sad to leave.

“Shiraishi, you can go take your seat over there.” The teacher pointed at the only empty seat in the classroom.. She couldn’t really see who it was next to her as they were looking down on their phone.

An nodded softly and made her way over there, but as she got closer, little strands of orange hair started to enter her view. “ You have got to be fucking with me.”  Oh of course she’s sat next to him.

Taking a huge inhale—letting out a much softer exhale—she made her way to the new seat she’ll most likely be sitting in for years to come.

She hung her bag on the edge of the desk and sighed, catching the attention of the guy next to her. The second he saw the—rather childish—star clips in her hair, he was in too much of a shitty mood to even scowl. Inhaling as he leaned his head back, he exhaled out a “fuck.”

“As if I’m happy about it.” An just simply muttered out, softly enough so that he was the only one that could hear her. Akito wanted to throw hands at her but seeing how she’d probably call him dramatic for it, he just ignored her and went back to scrolling on his phone.

“Out of everyone, her?” His thoughts were bringing his mood down to an all time low, so shaking his head he snapped out of his thoughts and tried to ignore her for the rest of the class. Which was pretty damn hard when the girl he’s sitting next to couldn’t shut up.

Everytime she didn’t understand something, she’d make a quiet ‘hm?!’ sound. Loud enough so he could hear, quiet enough so the others couldn’t. It’s like she had a whole vocabulary full of sounds to make during class. ‘Eh?!’ was for when she couldn’t connect the dots to find the answer. ‘Ugh..!’ was for when she accidentally spelt something wrong and ‘shit!’ was for when she accidentally erased most of the paragraph.

It was annoying, really. He couldn’t stand it and wanted to just punch her in the face. After he discovers every new word in her little vocabulary, he feels his hands itch as he tries not to just cover her mouth and leave her like that the entire lesson.

On the other hand, An was way too confused with the lesson to even notice that he was getting annoyed by her secret little voice lines. She had the brain of an 8th grader, pretty sure the last time she actually listened and paid attention to class.. Was actually in 8th grade.

After discovering a question about the animal cell, she couldn’t take it anymore and let out a new sound from her dictionary.

“Hngh..”

“Can you shut the fuck up, shiraishi?!” Akito slammed the table, not too hard, just hard enough so the few tables surrounding them could hear. But to his—very—rude remark, her face turned into one of a sour expression and she just simply rolled her eyes, facing him.

“If you hate it so much, then just ignore it. No one’s asking you to listen to me—”

“How can I if thats the only thing I'm hearing? You have a whole vocabulary full of weird sounds you make when you’re distressed and it’s twisting my fucking brain!”

“Oh yeah? The only thing i’ve heard this entire time was you repeatedly clicking your pen, stomping your foot—which shook the desk–-and don’t even get me started on the sighs you always exaggera–”

Before either of them could even get another word in, they didn’t even notice that their voices were getting increasingly louder after each word—maybe even letter. The teacher had walked up to their desk, but because of the two being in their own world of endless bickering, they hadn’t even realized that all eyes were on them.

As their teacher slammed on their desk—interrupting this pointless argument—the two quickly stopped to flinch and look up, watching as their teacher had the most deathly stare in the deathliest of deathy deathlies dathely dteh deatlthy stares. “You two may continue this discussion, in detention. ”

An sighed, great. First biology class in her new school and she’s already got detention. Glancing over at Akito, he didn’t look too happy about it either. As he glanced to look at her as well, a glare started to form on his face. Making her scowl and just look away, choosing to ignore him as they both packed their bags and was about to make their way to detention.

As An walked out—behind Akito—she felt someone grab her wrist. Turning to see who it was t’was the one and only, Mizuki Akiyama. What could she want?

As the pink haired girl pulled her down softly to whisper into her ear, she was careful so that the teacher wouldn’t see her. “I’ll meet you in your dorm at 8, yeah?” Her breath tickling An’s ear, she softly nodded and pulled her wrist away, waving bye to Mizuki as she softly jogged to catch up to Akito—who was at the door, waiting for her. How sweet.

When the two finally left, Akito slammed the door aggressively, causing the teacher inside to slam his desk out of anger. But the two were already far away enough so that even if he went out, his yells of anger couldn’t be heard by the two.

The walk was mostly silent, the two were still obviously mad at eachother. But every few moments, she could feel him glancing at her. And it was getting annoying. After what felt like the millionth glance, she finally asked him.

“What?”

Catching his attention and causing him to look at her again, this time with a scowl on his face. “What?” Acting clueless, of course he was. Resisting to just kill herself right now to make him feel guilty, she just shook her head. “Why are you staring?”

Akito looked straight ahead, then back at her. “What was Akiyama telling you?”

Oh, he knew Mizuki? An thought he was plotting something against her and was glancing at her in case the thoughts he had accidentally slipped out of his mind and transported into hers, exposing everything.

“Nothing, just told me to meet her somewhere.”

Akito hummed and put his hands in his pockets, looking at the lockers and away from her. “Just… Don’t bring her to the dorm.”

Pretending to comply with him, An nodded softly. Gripping her backpack tighter. “Yeah, I won’t” Won’t listen to you.

The rest of the walk to the detention room was quiet, unlike other schools, if you got detention, the second you got it you had to make your way to the detention room and stay there until the last bell rang. Which was at 3:45 PM. Bathroom breaks were an exception, but other than that, you gotta stay there.

When they finally saw the door of the detention room, An felt horror rush through her body the second she saw that little wooden box with a lock on it. It read ‘PHONE HERE’

You have got to be joking.

“Do we really…?” An asked, her eyes filled with even more horror as she saw him so casually slip his phone inside the box. “Yeah.” He patted the box jokingly. “Put it in, princess.” His tone flat, entering the room first whilst An stood there, holding her phone tightly.

Taking a deep breath, she put her phone in the little slip on the top that the box had. “It’s okay… You’ll get it in…” Attempting to calculate  the hours, she felt a headache threatening to take over. So shaking her head, she assumed it’d be in 8 or so hours. Exhaling, she finally dropped her phone inside, feeling like the world had stopped spinning.

Taking some time to mourn her phone, she entered the classroom to see that only Akito was there, already attempting to take a nap. His hoodie on and arms crossed, he sat at the very back.

The bright side was that talking was allowed. The dark side is.. Who was she gonna talk to? Akito? Hello no. Sighing and taking a seat on one of the desks in the second row, far enough from the door but close enough to sprint out straight away.

An looked at the clock and heard it ticking. This was gonna be painful.

A few hours passed—An’s words—and it was now… 9 am! Her starting time was… 7:50. Sighing out loud, she leaned back on her chair, her hair resting on the desk behind her. She had no more thoughts to think about. Glancing over at Akito, it looked like he was fast asleep. Lucky.

An was so bored, she had no more thoughts to think about in her mind. She’d already solved all the worlds problems. War? Childish, put the presidents in an arena and fight to the death. Cancer? Just be a better doctor. World hunger? The americans have enough food, they can donate. Mental illness? Everything is a mental illness.

Everything there was to think about has been thought about by An. She wasn’t an overthinker—not at all—which caused her to just breeze through every question there was mankind had to offer.

She tried taking a nap, but it was pointless. She couldn’t sleep properly and she was also terrified. “A girl sleeping in a short skirt? Yeah no.” She’s heard way too many rumors about this school.

An winced, rubbing her eyes, hoping the time will pass soon cause she couldn’t wait here any longer. God.. Just please give her some entertainment!!!

Just then, the door slammed open. Snapping her out of her thoughts, she glanced over at the door to be met with a purple haired guy walking backwards into the detention room—whilst getting yelled at by a teacher.

“How many times have I told you—STOP BLOWING UP THE CLASSROOMS!!!”

The guy’s expression wasn’t visible to An, but from his body language and tone, it seemed like he didn’t really regret anything.

“I’ll stop doing it—”

“NO! YOU’RE STAYING HERE, KAMISHIRO!” And with that final sentence, the teacher slammed the door shut. He was still yelling on the other side, his voice getting softer as he walked further away from the detention room.

The guy, —who was extremely tall—had long-ish purple hair with a blue streak on one of his bangs.

“Seriously? What's with guys and their obsession with dyed strands?”

He was wearing the same uniform as Tsukasa, was he her senior as well? She’s never seen him before. But the second his—very similar—yellow eyes met hers, he gave her a… Cat-like grin.

“Oiya”, who might this be?” Walking over and taking the seat right infront of her, he looked at An. He didn’t look scary at first glance, but after hearing what the teacher just said, she wasn’t too sure.

“Ah, Shiraishi An. I’m a new student here.”

“Hm? New student and you’re already in detention?” He raised a brow, his grin turning into a softer smile as he tried to make sense of the situation.

Yeah, shocking, she knows. “It’s all because of…” Without even finishing her sentence, she glanced at the olive-green eyed guy on the other end of the room. And with that single glance, the purple haired guy instantly knew.

“Fufu, I expected another student to be involved.” Resting his elbow on her desk—his chin in the palm of his hand—he softly smiled. “Kamishiro Rui.”

Kamishiro. Right, she heard the teacher yell his name earlier as well. He looked interesting, maybe detention could be slightly better with him there? She didn’t really have to ask what he was here for, hearing what the teacher yelled out earlier, it was pretty.. Obvious.

“So, second year of highschool?” An asked, tilting her head slightly. After getting another ‘fufu’, she assumed she was correct. “His fufu’s kinda remind me of Mizuki.”

“Indeed.” Putting his arm down, he crossed his arms on her desk, continuing to speak. “You don’t have to call me senpai, anything is just fine.” He seemed carefree, just like Tsukasa. Were all seniors here like this?

“Okay, Kamishiro.” An crossed her arms on the desk, leaning forward slightly as well, mimicking his actions. “This is a very serious question and I’m gonna need you to cooperate with me” Her face darkened—which was oddly concerning as Rui’s facial expression dropped to one of shock. Both his brows raised and his eyes widened slightly.

But wanting something interesting, he nodded. His face not really serious, but neutral enough so that it wasn’t a dead pan either.

“So…”

Rui gulped.

“Do you have games on your phone?”

Now Rui was dead-panning. Sighing for a second, he resisted letting out a chuckle to not ruin the mood. “No but…” He reached for his pocket, his expression darkened as well.

This time, An was truly scared. Leaning backwards slightly, she silently accepted her fate that she was gonna get shot and die right now. Swallowing a lump in her throat, she flinched as he pulled something out of his pocket.

“I have UNO.”

Her eyes were still sealed shut as her arms were in a defensive position infront of her face. The second she heard ‘UNO’, she peeked one eye open and saw the 5 boxes of different UNO card games for them to play. Did he always have that in his pocket.

Letting out a breath she knew she was holding, she sat back up straight, clearing her throat. “You should know, Kamishiro. I am a master at UNO.” Getting a bit cocky, the ends of her lips turned up into a grin.

“Oh, don’t worry, Shiraishi.” Rui reached into his other pocket and pulled out around 7 medals. Seriously.. How big were these guys' pockets? Feeling intimidated now, An felt a sweat slowly drop down the side of her face. “Fuck i've met a professional.”

As he put the medals down, he reached out his hand for her to shake. Hesitant, she still reached out and shook his hand. Initiating the UNO battles.

“1 game of each? We can do 2 if you want to keep going.”

“Bet.”

And so, the UNO saga began.

The first game, DOS. Ironic, I know. Rui had humor and An had to praise him for that.

“You did not.” An gasped as he put down the last +2 card after they’ve been exchanging it for the past 3 minutes. “50 cards, Shiraishi. Eat 'em up.” Having to follow the rules, An sighed as she took 50 and placed it into her deck.

As An placed another card down, she was on 2 cards left. She stared intensely at the messily stacked cards on the desk. Causing Kamishiro to widen his eyes and raise his brows in shock, looking up at her then back down at her deck. Letting out a breathy chuckle, he spoke softly.

“Dos.”

That snapped An out of her thoughts and looked up at him, eyes widening as she looked down at her cards.

“FUCK!!”

Rui won DOS.

Second game, UNO angry birds.

“UNO!” They both yelled at the same time when Rui got to his last card. Averting their gaze from the cards to each other. They had a serious look on their face.

“I said it first.”

“No I did.”

“Fufu, are you sure?”

“Yes! I am! Grab 2 cards, sucker!”

“Hmm, I dont think so.”

“Yes you— Ugh.. Hey! You!” An got up and pointed at the security camera in the corner of the room, waving to get their attention. “I said it first, didn’t I?!” She yelled desperately into the camera as Rui just waved to it in his seat. Students walking past the detention room could hear her yelling and when they peeked inside, all they saw was her yelling at the security camera, they just stood there and stared at her in confusion.

After a few moments of nothing, An turned around and was about to take a seat before the cameras spoke. “Kamishiro said it first.”

No way.

Slowly turning back around to face the security cameras, Rui started whistling. This was gonna send An into a manic episode.

“FU–!!”

Rui won UNO: angry birds.

The third game: UNO: mario kart.

As An placed down a wild box, Rui sighed and grabbed another card from the neat pile and placed it on top of the—extremely—messy pile. It was a banana. “What was the banana again?”

An reached for the instructions in the box, placing her deck on her lap—not risking Rui peeking at her pile. “The person in current order who was immediately before–” Before she could even finish speaking, reading over the next part, she couldn’t contain her laughter. “You must draw 2 cards!”

As An laughed her soul away, Rui just scoffed, his smile twitching as he complied and grabbed 2 cards. Still laughing as Rui put down the last yellow card he had, she was in her own world of giggles and laughter.

“Put a card down, Shiraishi.”

Looking back at her desk, small chuckles still sneaking out of her mouth, turned into big giggles as she put down a +2 yellow card. Glancing up from the cards to look at his face, the smirk he held was now replaced with a dead panned face.

Absolutely losing it again, An turned into a laughing mess.

An won UNO: mario kart.

The fourth game: UNO: no mercy.

“Shiraishi, it doesn’t have to end this way.”

An had pulled a number 7 card in the color green, the color that was in play in the current moment and the only color she didn’t have. She had 24 cards and Rui had 1. Her hands shaking as she looked at the card, she let out a breathy scoff, her expression darkening as she looked at him.

“But.. it does.”

Placing the card down, Rui was now forced to swap decks with her. As they exchanged, he noticed it was his turn and the color was green. 24 cards.. And no green?! Admitting defeat, he let out a sigh and grabbed a card from the deck.

He officially had 25 cards. He was out by default.

“YES!” An exclaimed, jumping up from her seat.

An won UNO: no mercy.

The final game: UNO.

The two stood across eachother as An held out a hand to him. Rui—gently shaking it—had a darkened expression, and so did she. The final game, to determine the winner of this whole UNO saga.

It was neck and neck. They both had one card. The last card Rui placed was a wild card, it was now up to him to choose the color and the fate of them both.

An wasn’t the smartest, she didn’t have her wild cards and used them whenever she got the chance. Looking down at her single card, she looked at the color and number.

Yellow 7.

Taking a deep breath and slowly exhaling, she looked back up at Rui, who was taking a long time to decide the color.

He was probably calculating all the possibilities of the colors, and trying to find out which one she had. “C’mon, choose.” An muttered, barely audible as the tension between them was heavy. 4 fair UNO games, and now it comes down to one decision.

Every +4’s, every ‘UNO’’s, every little smart trick they both placed against the other meant nothing now. All that mattered in this exact moment was one color called out of Rui’s mouth.

As sweat raced down both of their foreheads, they were holding their breaths. Looking at the wild card one last time, Rui sighed.

“Yellow.”

“!!!”

She did it.

She just did it.

Looking down at the wild card in the messy pile—which has more cards than the deck you pull cards out of—then back at the card in her hands. She was shaking—sweating, all of the above. Looking back up at him, she put her card down.

“I won.”

Looking at the card she had just placed, Rui stared at it for a few moments. He just lost. To a newbie. Sighing and closing his eyes, he finally accepted his defeat. “You won.”

“YES! FINALLY!” An pushed all the cards away and yelled at the top of her lungs, standing up and embracing the sweet feeling of victory! It felt so good, she could cry. She was, actually. Small tears of joy started streaming down her eyes.

Rui was sat in his chair, staring up at her as he chuckled to himself. He’ll let her have this one, a worthy opponent is always fun to have. He’ll have to ask her for a rematch though.

On the other side of the room, a certain boy's ear drums rang as she yelled. Jesus.. Who was rudely interrupting him from his nap. Opening his eyes and pulling down his hoodie, he scanned the room and his eyes landed on the blue haired girl. For some reason.. Standing up, bowing at imaginary people. Freak.

But when he looked at who was infront of her.. Kamishiro-senpai? What the..

After being—quite disrespectfully—woken up from his nap, he walked over to them, hands in his pockets. Catching the attention of Kamishiro, he just smirked and looked back at An.

As An was giving her stupid little speech, he was towering right behind her.

“I wanna thank my dad, my mom, my beautiful roommate Tsukasa-senpai, my—not so close friend—Mizuki, for this amazing award! I could have never.. Imagin.. Huh?” When she looked down at her desk and saw a shadow towering behind her, she was about to turn around, but was interrupted by a slap on the back of her head.

“Ouch!” She said softly as she rubbed her head, turning around to see who it was—she was greeted with a very grumpy Akito.

“Oi, you got a good reason for waking me up?” His hands were now back in his pockets as he looked at her, a very cold scowl on his face. An just glared up at him, she could choose to argue, sure. But she was in a very good mood and decided to have some fun. “Oh, sorry. Are you feeling cranky after I woke you up from your nap?”

Chuckling softly, she watched as his expression turned even darker than before. “Watch your mouth, Shiraish–”

“Shinonome-kun,” Rui interrupted him, still sitting in his chair as he cleaned up the cards. “I apologize if we woke you up. We were playing UNO and got carried away, please forgive us.”

Akito felt his spine shiver as he talked to his senior, looking away, he silently nodded. Making An raise a brow. “Yeah, its fine, senpai.”

As Rui let out a small ‘fufu’ Akito looked back at An. “Oi, let’s go back. It’s already 6 pm.” His words felt like a reality check to her. Her celebration was unfortunately not going to continue as she turned around and looked at the time.. 6.. 35… PM?!

“Wha-..” She took a moment to process this. “WHAT?!” Her hands shoved into both sides of her head, she felt her eye twitch as the clock continued to tick. 6:35.. PM?! Was she that carried away in her game of UNO that she didn’t even notice it was DARK already?!

“C’mon, lets go.” Grabbing the back of her cardigan, Akito started dragging her out. Wanting to leave the room as soon as possible. Both of their belongings in his other hand. “Hey! Wait! Kamishiro! Thank you for the games! See you ‘round!” An rushed her goodbye as she saw him wave bye in return.

When they got outside the classroom, he finally let her go. Walking over to the box with the phones and reaching in for them. He grabbed both of theirs and quickly dragged her away from the room.

“Oi! Why are you so rushed to leave?” An steadied her feet as she walked alongside him, his grip on her wrists getting tighter the more she tried to pull away. “I couldn’t even say bye to Kamishiro-senpai I–” She stopped as she saw him shiver at the mention of Rui. Huh?

“Why’d you just do that?”

“Do what?” He replied in a gruff tone.

“That, when I mentioned Kamishiro-senpai–” He shivered again when she mentioned him.

“See! You did it again!”

“I did not!”

“Kamishiro-senpai!”

Akito shivered again, making An scoff in disbelief. He was… scared of Rui? Now that was new. But, why? He was fairly nice to her. Maybe because she was a girl? Always be respectful to women. But he didn’t look like the type to be rude to.. Anyone?

“Look, I don’t wanna talk about it, ‘kay?”

After his response, An just rolled her eyes and continued walking back to the dorms, letting him lead the way cause she already forgot where they were. She didn’t even question why he was still holding her wrist when she could walk just fine. Jeez.. Was he really thinking that low of her?

The rest of the walk to their dorm was quiet, mostly only Akito coughing every now and then. If she got infected by him cause he wouldn’t let go of her wrist, she was gonna be pissed.

After they finally reached their dorm, Akito unlocked the door and pretended to let her go in first. Raising a brow, she was about to walk in before Akito stepped in front of her, rudely entering first and closing the door shut. Locking it.

“Really? Dickhead!” She yelled and tried to reach for her keys, but after hearing some muffled words from inside, she heard the door open. Tsukasa. “An-chan! Come in, come in.” He held the door open for her and she silently thanked him. Entering the apartment, she could smell something was being cooked. “Tsukasa-senpai, did you make something?” At that, Tsukasa nodded and headed back to the stove. “Of course I did! I couldn’t let my poor underclassmen starve after a long day of detention, now could I?” He was cooking some bacon with egg. God, An could get on her knees and kiss his feet.

“Wow, how ever shall we thank you.” Akito replied in a flat tone all the way from the couch. He was already on his phone? Gadget addict. Slept for nearly 11 hours and the first thing he did when he got back to his dorm was go on his phone?

“Well, Akito. You can thank me by eating.” He turned off the stove and lifted the pan, walking over to the kitchen island—very fancy—and laid the meals for them on 2 pre-prepared plates. 1 egg and 4 bacon for each person.

An felt the drool sitting on her tongue, rent-free. Was this her reward for beating Rui? If it was, she’d do it again, a million times even. “Thank you, Tsukasa-senpai!” Removing her cardigan and tossing it towards the sofa, she took a seat on one of the stools, she quickly dug in, eating it straight away.

“Akito, come eat!”

“You’re not my mom.”

Whilst saying that, he tossed his phone aside and walked over to the island, taking one look at the meal prepared for him and quietly felt his stomach grumble. Both—An and Akito—neglected their stomachs the entire day. Eating barely anything for breakfast and skipping lunch. Despite this being a simple meal, it felt like a full course. Tsukasa put his stupid apron down and went to his room, going to study for an exam he had tomorrow.

Watching as Akito dug into his meal aggressively, An had to hold back a chuckle. Hearing said chuckle, he glanced over at her, his expression turning dark. “What?” A piece of bacon still hanging out of his mouth caused his words to muffle.

Quickly biting it off and staring at her, she shook her head and continued eating, holding back a giggle.

“Nothing.. Nothing..” She did a shoo-ing gesture, dismissing him. “Eat your food.”

Suspiciously looking at her still, he slowly averted his gaze back to his plate. Trying to enjoy his food in peace. Until he heard her mumble something ever so softly.

“Big back.”

Alright.

“The fuck did you just say to me?” Putting the piece of bacon he was about to eat down, he grabbed her shirt and pulled her closer, raising his other arm, ready to fist her. An on the other hand, was hysterically laughing.

“Haha! Wait! Please! I didn’t say anything!” Her eyes sealed shut, she tried to move away from him, her arms up in the air in a surrendering position.

“Don’t ever call me a big back, stupid!” Tugging on her—now wrinkled—sleeve, he watched as she was still laughing. Still growling at her, he let go, pushing her away as she calmed down.

Still softly giggling, she continued to eat. Good for her, yeah? Now cause she said that, he was too insecure to eat how he would like to. Thanks so much Shiraishi. Taking small bites at a time, he resisted the urge to just swallow everything down in one go.

As the two continued to eat in—less awkward—silence, An noticed a note right infront of her.. Addressed to.. Her? Grabbing it and opening it, she read what was inside the first half of it.

‘I can’t make it to ur dorm :(((((((, my roomie has a test i needa help her study w!!!!!!!!!!!!’

Humming softly, she continued to eat her egg. That was unfortunate, she really wanted to hear what she had to say. But oh well, she could wait. As she was about to read the second part, she felt the left side of her body warmer than usual. Glancing over to the side, she caught Akito peaking.

“Aha!” They both exclaimed.

“You were peeking!”

“You invited Akiyama over!”

Both of them growled, feeling an argument about to happen. As they both opened their mouths to speak, something else growled.

Pausing, they both looked down at their stomachs. Right, they were starving. Silently letting out ‘Hmphs!’ They continued to eat in silence as An put the letter away in her socks, making sure to read it later.

The rest of their meal was pretty much quiet, both of them just shut up and continued to eat. There wasn’t really tension though, despite them not really being ‘friends’, they both slowly started adapting to eachothers company.

Not that they’d ever admit it. Lol.

Once they finished eating, they put their plates in the sink and left it for Tsukasa to wash. Well, he was their senior, right? They were both conscious of their uniforms and it was starting to itch their skin.

An was especially itchy of the bra she had on. She hated bras.

Silently, they both walked to their bedrooms down the—very short—hallway to change. They had laundry already done by Tsukasa and it was laid out for them on the bed. An loved the detergent Tsukasa used for their clothes as it smelled so fresh.

Taking off her socks, she saw the note Mizuki gave her. “Right, I couldn’t finish it cause of Akito. Jerk.” Opening the letter to read the contents inside, it was pretty simple.

‘Also saw u tdy w Rui!!!!!! Hope he wasnt 2 much, hehehehe! Ill cum 2 ur dorm in the next week ro so…so watch out! ;PPPPPP’

She knew Rui? It made sense, they have the same chuckle. Tossing the note aside, she continued taking off her uniform.

Putting on a random off-shoulder t-shirt and some short pants she probably used in middle school. Getting out of her uniform felt like heaven on earth. Collapsing to her knees, she let out a sigh as tears slowly streamed down her eyes. She took this for granted way too often.

Snapping out of it, she tied her hair in a messy ponytail and made her way to the—shared—bathroom down the short hallway. She preferred getting ready in the dark as the bright white light along with the eye-soaring white and blue tiles gave her a massive headache. Especially because it was night time.

Brushing her teeth whilst looking at her phone, she was caught off guard when the bathroom lights switched on. Glancing up at the mirror, she found Akito in his casual clothes outside the bathroom. “Do you want your eyes to break?”

An rolled her eyes and put her phone on top of the toilet, getting interrupted mid brush was highly disrespectful in her opinion. “You can wait your turn, now turn off the lights, loser.” She didn’t want to be made fun of so she took her toothbrush out of her mouth, talking to him and trying not to make the foam spill out of her mouth.

“Like hell i’m waiting for you.” Akito walked in and pushed her aside, giving him space to brush his own teeth. “Oi–!!” She couldn’t even get a word in before he disrespectfully pushed her side.

Their bathroom was far from big. You enter and you’re greeted with a small sink and mirror which is also the cabinet. Then right next to you you have the toilet, then right next to that was the shower that didn’t have a shower curtain so everytime after someone took a shower, the floor of the bathroom would be soaking wet.

Deciding she was way too tired to argue, she continued brushing her teeth next to him. The two kept pushing eachother when they got to the end of their brushing, fighting over who got to spit first.

It just had to resort to this.

An—with a smirk—pretended to spit the water out on his arm, causing him to let out a muffled ‘fuck!’ and move back. With all the space in the world, An leaned forward and spat out the toothpaste first, rinsing her mouth with water before stepping back and letting him do it.

“Jerk.” His voice was muffled as he spat his toothpaste out as well, rinsing his mouth as An opened the cabinet to get her skincare. The second she did, Akito just so happened to be lifting his head up as well. Which caused the back of his head to clash with the end of the cabinet.

“Ouch!” He yelled out at the top of his lungs, causing An to gasp. That was a LOUD clash.

Without even saying a word, he held the back of his head with his hands as An closed the cabinet, covering her mouth with her hands. Stifling a laugh as she inhaled. “Im so sor—”

“Shut up.”

An stifled another laugh, really trying to hold it in.

“I really am sorry—”

“Just be quiet, Shiraishi.”

Akito had his eyes closed and his thoughts blank. He was gonna kill this girl.
