Since her husband died
it felt like her whole world tore apart, she felt empty, broken
she would cry every night and she would even forget to take care of herself
Harry was still a baby, an innocent one-year-old child, how is she going to raise him?

She had been so blinded by grief that she wanted to disappear, so she planned something.

Lily smiled as she watched her little boy play, she loved him so much she'll trade anything for him, even her own life
Harry was at age four now, he has this unruly hair that his mother would adore, Warm colored skin that he got from his father, freckles, and vivid emerald-colored eyes that he inherited from his mother.

Harry was a child who would love to explore things, he might be a little sass child sometimes but he was a truly innocent, optimistic, and kind child, he was always curious about things, he was clever, well not really smart he can be a little oblivious about everything sometimes and his eyesight was not very well but that doesn't make Lily love her son less, she treasured him
"Harry, sweetie do you want to eat? I made some cookies earlier"
Harry's eyes widen, he scrambled up to his for and ran to his mother, hugging her "Yes, please"
Lily smiled she took Harry's little hand and went to the kitchen together
she accio'd the cookie jar and placed it on the table
They ate cookies and drank hot chocolates

One day, while she was knitting a blanket she felt a sharp pain, she stood up to walk but as soon as she did she fainted and the last thing she heard was her son's shout.
As she open her eyes she was blinded by a bright light, she grimaced. she lifted her hand to rub her eyes
"I see you're Finally awake Mrs. Potter" A woman she didn't recognize said
"Where am I? wait- where is my son?! Where is he? Harry!-"
The woman sighed "You are in St. Mungos Mrs. Potter" she paused "I'm assuring you, that your son is fine Mrs.Potter. he's waiting out of the room along with a man named...Severus Snape"
Lily's breath hitched
Sev? St. Mungos?
Everything was too confusing
"What am I doing here?"
"Well, someone called us and said it was an emergency"
"who?"
"Mr. Snape"
what? how?
"I do have something to announce to you Mrs. Potter, and it isn't going to be very well"
Lily nodded
The woman looked at her clipboard which had papers on it and then looked at her "Well I'm afraid to say this, but you are dying Mrs.Potter you have few days to live"
"What?"
"You've got a rare condition that can only be found on wizards or witches"
Lily panicked what about Harry? she couldn't miss his first day of school she has a lot of things to do she can't die she can't, she can't
She has a lot of things to lose
As soon as Lily got out she was silent

"Snape"
there was silence
someone came dashing towards her, it was Harry "Mommy!" he yelled excitedly. She looked at her son, she felt blameworthy she swore. sworn to never leave him alone, vowed to always be there. but here she was, ebbing away
"Love" Lily breathed "Let us go home shall we?". she glanced at the man beside her "you can come with us you know" she smiled
Snape looked at her with wide eyes but nodded silently regardless
at the time they came home, Harry looked at the man wearing black and looked at her mother with wide questioning eyes "Who is he?"
Lily picked up Harry "this is Mr. Snape, Harry". Harry smiled widely and waved at him "Hullo Mr. Snape! I'm Harry! you may already know that and I repeated it that might be irritating sorry-"
"Harry, honey your rambling" Lily pointed out, Harry's cheek tinted pink, and covered his face with his hands "Sorry"
Snape smiled "He's just like you never running out of sorry's" he chuckled, and Lily looked at her "Did you laugh? Dear Merlin the word might be ending" she jested
"Very funny Lily," Snape said
"Anyway, were making lunch care to join us?" She Inquired, Snape hesitated for a moment but said 'yes'
Lily placed Harry down "you could play with your toys darling, we'll call you when food is done", Harry nodded and ran to his box of toys "Don't run you'll trip!"
both adults flinched when they heard a thud
"I'm okay!" Harry assured them
Lily shook her head
"Well then, let's go and prepare lunch, and we've got something to converse about," Lily said her lively voice fading away and being replaced by a rather Sirius one
then continued to go to the kitchen and took out some of the things they need to use
"Okay Sev, can you be a darling and slice some white onions and garlic for me," Lily asked
"Sure"
Lily took a pan and placed it on the stove, she poured oil into it. she cracked three eggs and after cooking them she placed them on 3 different plates, she closed the stove and took a rather big bowl, and took out the marinated beef she mixed last night, she took a different pan and heated it on the stove and at the time it was ready she placed the beef and some marinated sauce she made.
"Severus" she muttered
"hm?"
"Well, I know you've heard about my... condition"
"Lily-"
"I'm not living any longer, Severus, I won't see him grow, I won't receive the first letter that he made from Hogwarts telling me what house he was in. I've got a lot to lose"
Severus frowned and felt pity
"I want you to protect him, Severus"
"I thought Lupin and Black were his godfathers"
"Since they were married they started to have their problems Severus, and they live in a different country now. The only one I could trust here is you" She hung her head low and fidgeted with her hands
Severus's chest rose and fell with rapid breaths, Lily noticed it and took in a sharp breath
"nevermind, you don't have to I just-"
She was cut off
"I'll do it, I'll try my best. we could make an unbreakable vow"
LIly smiled tightly and shooked her head and waved her hand in the air for dismissal "you don't need to Severus"
Snape looked at the woman, baffled
"I trust you, Severus, with or without unbreakable vows"
after that, she continued cooking
she added 3/4 cup of water to it and covered the pan to boil, the water needs to be reduced to half. after, she added 3 tbsp of oil and continued to fry the beef
until it was medium brown she turned the stove off and then again placed them in separate dishes
after Snape sliced the garlic and onions he then gave them to Lily, Lily took Them and placed them on the pan and fried them, as soon as the onion and garlic were cooked she placed the rice she had and fried the rice, she also added some salt to it
after cooking, she placed the fried rice on the plates she prepared. she and Snaped collected all of the dirty dishes and placed them in the sink, Lily just used her magic for washing the plates
she took the three plates placed them on the table and took some spoons and forks
"Harry! lunch is done"
"Okay!" Lily heard Harry shout
the moment they all sat down they looked at the food and ate
"This is good," Harry said while chewing
"Harry we don't eat with our mouths full" Lily reminded her son
Harry nodded
Lily looked at her friend "so how is it?"
"It's good, what is this dish anyway?"
Lily beamed at the thought of explaining things "Oh it's a muggle dish that came from the country named the Philippines! it's quite famous there and easy to cook too!"
Snape nodded and ate along
