Alessia groaned into Leah’s chest, her body warm and pliant as she lay sprawled on top of her. Leah’s fingers lazily combed through her hair, nails scratching lightly against her scalp in a way that made her practically melt.
It had been a very good morning. Now, wrapped in blankets on the couch, a movie playing in the background, Alessia felt completely and utterly at peace. That was until Leah, in typical Leah fashion, started shifting beneath her, sighing dramatically.
“I’m bored.”
Alessia cracked an eye open, exhaling a soft laugh against Leah’s collarbone. “We literally just had sex, and you’re already bored?”
Leah huffed, her fingers still threading through Alessia’s hair. “Well, yeah. I love lounging around with you, but I need to do something.”
Alessia tilted her head up, resting her chin against Leah’s chest. “We’re watching a movie.”
Leah rolled her eyes. “We’ve seen this movie a hundred times.”
“And yet you were the one who picked it.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” Leah said, brushing her knuckles against Alessia’s cheek before a mischievous glint sparked in her eyes. “Oh! Teach me how to bake something.”
Alessia blinked. “Absolutely not.”
Leah pouted, tilting her head. “Why not?”
“Because I’d quite like for our kitchen to remain intact,” Alessia deadpanned.
Leah gasped, scandalized. “Excuse you! I’ll have you know, I’ve improved massively in the kitchen.”
Alessia raised an eyebrow. “Last week, you set off the smoke alarm making toast.”
Leah narrowed her eyes. “That toaster is dodgy.”
Alessia snorted, shaking her head as she tucked her face back into Leah’s neck. “Nope. Not happening.”
Leah sighed dramatically, running her fingers up and down Alessia’s spine in a way that she knew would make her weak.
“Lessi,” she murmured, dragging out her name, and Alessia cursed the warmth in her stomach.
She knew what Leah was doing, knew she was about to crumble, but then-
She lifted her head again, only to be met with Leah’s bottom lip jutted out in a ridiculously adorable pout.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” Alessia groaned, dropping her forehead against Leah’s chest. “Fine.”
Leah immediately perked up, a triumphant grin spreading across her lips. “Really?”
Alessia sighed. “Yes, really.”
Leah cheered, squeezing her tight. Alessia grumbled against her skin as she let herself be hauled to her feet, already regretting her decision. She just knew this was going to be chaos.
*
“This was your idea,” Alessia grumbled, shooting Leah a glare as she wiped flour off her face for the third time in the last ten minutes.
Leah, who was currently grinning like the absolute menace she was, just shrugged. “And we’re having fun, aren’t we?”
Alessia stared at her, unimpressed, as she pointed to the cocoa powder now coating the kitchen counter. “Are we?”
Leah smirked, stepping closer until she was right behind front her, chin resting on Alessia’s shoulder. “I am.”
Alessia narrowed her eyes, but the effect was somewhat ruined when Leah’s fingers playfully snapped the waistband of her shorts.
She gasped, slapping Leah’s hand away. “Leah!”
Leah snickered, pressing a kiss to the side of Alessia’s neck as she slid her hands under her shirt. “What?”
Alessia exhaled sharply, grabbing Leah’s wrists and pulling her hands away before she could get too distracted. “You were the one who wanted to bake. If I’d known this was just an elaborate plan to grope me, I would’ve said no.”
Leah gasped dramatically, pressing a hand to her chest. “That is so offensive.”
Alessia raised an eyebrow.
Leah’s lips twitched. “Okay, yeah, it’s exactly that, but we are still making brownies.”
Alessia sighed, shaking her head as she turned back to the mixing bowl. “Yeah, yeah, just-stop making a mess, and stop touching me.”
“Never,” Leah declared, promptly dipping a finger into the batter and smearing it on Alessia’s cheek.
Alessia froze. Leah grinned, already taking a step back in anticipation of whatever was about to happen next. Sure enough, Alessia slowly turned to face her, a dark gleam in her eyes.
“Leah,” she said, voice deceptively calm.
Leah swallowed, suddenly feeling very, very nervous.
“…Yes, Less?”
Alessia didn’t answer. Instead, she grabbed a handful of flour and launched it at Leah’s face. Leah spluttered, coughing as white powder filled the air around them.
“Oh, you’re dead,” she growled, reaching for the nearest bag of sugar.
Alessia shrieked, dodging out of the way, and just like that, all pretense of actually baking was abandoned.
Leah chased Alessia around the kitchen, bag of sugar in hand, her grin wide and dangerous. “Come here, you little-“
“No!” Alessia shrieked, darting behind the kitchen island. “Leah, don’t you dare-“
Leah didn’t dare. She did.
With far too much glee, she flung a handful of sugar in Alessia’s direction. Alessia ducked, but some of it still landed in her hair.
“Leah!” she gasped, hands flying to her head. “What is wrong with you?!”
Leah cackled, wiping at her flour-covered face. “Revenge, baby.”
Alessia’s eyes narrowed. Slowly, she stepped toward the counter, dipping her fingers into the bowl of brownie batter.
Leah’s grin faltered. “Less…”
Alessia smirked. And then-
She smeared a thick stripe of chocolate across Leah’s forehead.
Leah stood frozen, eyes wide. Alessia took full advantage, grabbing more batter and running it down Leah’s cheek.
“Less,” Leah warned, lips twitching despite herself.
Alessia just grinned. “You started this.”
Leah blinked. “I will finish it.”
“Oh, yeah?” Alessia challenged.
Before Alessia could react, in a surprising show of strength Alessia didn’t even know Leah possessed, Leah grabbed her by the waist and threw her over her shoulder.
Alessia squealed, legs kicking in protest. “Leah! Put me down! Your legs will break! Your ankle!”
Leah laughed, spinning them both in a slow circle before finally dropping Alessia onto the counter. Alessia gasped at the cold surface against her bare thighs, but any protest died on her lips as Leah stepped between her legs, hands firm on her hips.
They were both covered in flour, sugar, and chocolate, but Leah had never looked more stunning.
“My ankle is fine,” she assured, moving her hands slightly so they rested at the small of Alessia’s back. Alessia gave her a doubtful look that was quickly wiped away when Leah leaned in to kiss her. Soft. Lingering. She pulled away before Alessia could find the brain capacity to reciprocate, a smirk on her lips.
“You’re a mess.”
Alessia arched a brow. “I’m a mess?”
Leah grinned, reaching up to swipe a bit of batter off Alessia’s cheek.
And then, instead of wiping it away-
She licked it off her own finger. Alessia’s breath hitched, and Leah smirked.
“Leah,” Alessia warned, but it came out embarrassingly breathless.
Leah hummed, hands sliding down to rest on Alessia’s bare thighs. “You taste good.”
Alessia swallowed hard. “We should-uh- we should finish the brownies.”
Leah tilted her head. “Should we?”
Alessia nodded, but her body betrayed her as she leaned forward, chasing the warmth of Leah’s lips.
Leah chuckled, eyes darkening. “Less, baby, you’re sending mixed signals.”
Alessia rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t help the smile tugging at her lips.
Leah grinned. “Tell you what-if you can keep your hands to yourself for the next ten minutes, I’ll actually help finish the brownies.”
Alessia smirked. “Deal.”
Leah stepped back, giving her room to hop off the counter. They held each other’s gaze for a long moment, and then, without warning, Leah grabbed the bowl of brownie batter-
And ran.
Alessia gasped. “Leah!”
Leah’s laughter rang through the apartment. “Ten minutes starts now, baby!”
*
Alessia towel-dried her hair, shaking her head as she glanced at Leah, who was grinning smugly at her own reflection in the mirror.
“You’re insatiable,” Alessia muttered, touching the fresh hickey just beneath her ear.
Leah, completely unbothered, stepped up behind her and wrapped her arms around Alessia’s waist, chin resting on her shoulder. “And yet, you still let me.”
Alessia rolled her eyes, but there was no real annoyance behind it. “Not much choice when you latch onto me like a bloody leech.”
Leah laughed, pressing a noisy kiss to Alessia’s cheek before spinning away to grab some clothes. As expected, she immediately went for Alessia’s pile.
Alessia sighed, watching as Leah pulled on a pair of her shorts—ones that sat way too big on her hips—and one of her old training tops. “You do know you have your own clothes, right?”
Leah smirked, tying a knot in the shirt so it fit better. “Yeah, but yours are comfier.”
“Mine are bigger.”
“And therefore, comfier.” Leah shrugged, strolling over and pressing her palms flat against Alessia’s stomach, fingers slipping just under the hem of her hoodie. “And you like seeing me in them, don’t lie.”
Alessia bit her lip, glancing down at Leah, who was now giving her that look -the one that always, always made her weak.
“…Yeah,” she admitted, quietly.
Leah’s smirk softened into something much fonder. “Thought so.”
Alessia huffed, shaking her head before playfully flicking Leah’s forehead. “Come on, let’s go check on the brownies before you start something we won’t have time to finish.”
Leah pouted. “What if I’m hungry?”
Alessia shot her a look as she took her hand and pulled her towards the kitchen. “Then you can eat a bloody brownie, Williamson.”
And eat the brownies she did. Too many of them in-fact.
“You are literally the worst,” Alessia said, shaking her head as Leah lay sprawled across the couch, her head in Alessia’s lap, groaning dramatically.
Leah whined, clutching her stomach. “I’m dying, Less.”
Alessia snorted, rolling her eyes fondly as she dragged her fingers through Leah’s damp hair. “You ate half the brownies, Leah. What did you think was gonna happen?”
Leah pouted up at her, nudging Alessia’s hand toward her stomach. “Rub it. Please.”
Alessia sighed, shaking her head as she obeyed, rubbing slow, gentle circles against Leah’s stomach beneath her shirt. “You’re a child, y’know that?”
Leah groaned happily, eyes fluttering shut. “M’not a child, I just-“ She let out a little hum as Alessia’s fingers pressed a little firmer. “-like being taken care of.”
Alessia huffed a laugh, shaking her head. “You’re so annoying.”
“You love me,” Leah said smugly, cracking one eye open.
Alessia paused, heart skipping a beat as she met Leah’s gaze. Leah froze too, something soft and vulnerable flashing across her face. The words hadn’t been meant to come out, not like that, but they just had. And now they were hanging in the air between them, waiting.
Alessia swallowed, letting out a shaky breath. Then, slowly, she leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to Leah’s forehead.
“Yeah,” she murmured. “I do.”
Leah exhaled sharply, her fingers tightening against the fabric of Alessia’s hoodie as she murmured the words back. Alessia didn’t say anything else. Just kept rubbing soft, soothing circles into Leah’s stomach like it was the most natural thing in the world.
And maybe it was.
