Chapter 1
"Potter, I swear to Merlin! If you don't stop talking, then I will kill this lady!" There was a sudden shout in the defence classroom. The whole class was silent as they saw Voldemort standing in front of them, holding Professor Umbridge at wand point. Everyone turned to stare at the young Potter, confused about why there wasn't a fight, glad, but confused.
"Well, I wouldn't be annoying you if you had just come to the room of requirements already." The Gryffindor-Ravenclaw class was shocked at the boy-who-lived's bored response to his supposed arch-enemy's rage.
"For the last time, Potter, I don't know where that is! And I can barely get into the school without the chamber anyway, so how am I meant to find a random room that no student has found in around 150 years?"
"Well, actually it was found a few weeks ago, and I told you it's on the seventh floor near the portrait of Barnaby the Barmy!" Suddenly, the Professor started screaming and struggling in the Dark Lord's grip until he sent a stupefy to silence her.
There was a sudden outbreak of Gryffindors in which Harry and Voldemort had to silence them with a mixture of shouts and spells for the rowdier ones.
"Tom, you should probably change before another Ravenclaw faints," Harry said, gesturing to the three already passed out Ravenclaws. People were very confused about who "Tom" was and what Harry meant by "change". It seemed as if they had found out a bit too soon, considering the shocked looks on everyone's faces when Voldemort morphed into a young, twenty-something-year-old man with soft-looking black hair and dark eyes. He had a sharp facial structure as well as a defined body. He was in casual black robes and seemed to be wearing a dark emerald green dress shirt underneath.
People were if we're being honest, confused, shocked and terrified at the same time. There were gasps and screams, with Harry and Tom having to quiet everyone down again. But then Tom screamed. Everyone was taken aback by Tom's panic. He seemed to forget that "stupefy" existed and punched her in the face. The students were mystified, and even Harry was slightly startled at Tom's sudden use of muggle fighting tactics. He dropped her on the ground and, dazed, ran to the other side of the classroom.
Everyone was surprised by the fact that the "Great and Powerful Dark Lord" seemed to be scared by a middle-aged woman who was obsessed with pink and cats. But only Harry was the one who decided to ask about this; "Why did you run?" His incredulous voice was the first thing to break the long silence. There was a reply in a weird tone; "Wouldn't you be scared if a weird old lady had woken up and looked at you as if she were in love?" People were terrified, though they seemed to understand when he said this. Harry was especially frightened since "the other side of the classroom" was right next to him. Tom seemed to have thought of grabbing onto Harry but had decided against it. Harry was obviously concerned about his companion being looked at like that by their professor but ran to see how she was.
Umbridge was alright, but she had a massive lump on her head and seemed as if she would be out for quite a few hours. A whistle broke the silence. People were terrified. But then a voice said, "Wow, Tom, you have been practising your punches!" Harry mumbled. Everyone was shocked. Their professor had just gotten knocked out, and the boy-who-lived didn't do anything but approve of a punch. Scarily, Tom just looked embarrassed. I mean, who would want to hear the Golden Boy praising their punch?
Yet there was another outrage: "How does Harry Potter know that Voldemort has been practising punches?" "When have they talked about that?" "Is Harry a secret death eater?" (obviously, the least said and most outrageous one), but the dark lord just blushed, which was a strange sight, to say the least, but then there was just silence.
For some reason, he was unaware of what was going on. But that got everything back in motion. Harry and Tom were fighting, and Hermione seemed just about ready to speak up when they stopped and burst out in laughter. Then came the shout, "What the bloody hell is going on!?" from, you guessed it, Ron Weasley.
Everyone was shocked, to say the least, but it did seem like it'd be the best way to get information, so no one really complained. Harry seemed the most shocked, slightly unreasonably, as he should know what his best friend is like. He really wanted to ignore the question, run away and skip the rest of the class away from all the questions he would no doubt be given but realised that it'd be best to just answer them.
Would you believe me if I said that this wasn't the feared Lord Voldemort? ' The look Ron gave him said it all. He would have to explain everything.
"Well, I or we? I got bored and decided to annoy him one time, and it eventually turned into a friendship of sorts, and I sort of annoyed him about Professor Umbridge, and it turns out he showed up! '
Everyone had exasperated looks on their faces, because what did they expect but for the boy who lived to befriend the Dark Lord? Tom looked infuriated, and everyone guessed that it was because Harry had told everyone what happened until he explained with his proclamation,
"I thought I told you not to call me Voldemort anymore, Harry. We're over that." It was said with an odd tone that no one but Harry could make out.
To most, it was just a firm scolding, but to Harry, there was a hint of sadness accompanying the underlying softness in the words, as if it was a major betrayal. Just before the newly integrated Patronus alarm system came around, alerting
everyone that their free period had started.
Harry ran off as soon as everyone was distracted, with Tom right on his tail. He was scared that he had disappointed everyone. No matter how confident he was before, it was just an act. He didn't want everyone to be upset with him.
