Chapter 9
Severus was tense the entire time. It was bad enough being dragged to madam Pomfrey in the first place, but it was even worse when the Madam needed to get to all of the injuries causing harm. There were very few that could not be fixed with a simple solution, but she needed to see them first, which was just awkward in and of itself, it was made even more awkward with Lucius standing, keeping his eyes pinned to his bare body. Needless to say, he was grateful when the Madam finished and he was able to abruptly place everything back on. He knew that Lucius would demand to stay if he did not agree, and to be honest Severus did not want to deal with the aftermath of pissing off a powerful political player if he sent him away, so he had merely allowed the other to stay, which was something he was definitely regretting now. He was pale in frustration and embaressment, but that did not mean anything at the moment. There were bigger things to worry about. Like Lucius requesting that Madam send the list to his Father, whom he had contacted, and placing his hand on the base of his back to steer him away from the room.
Severus did not like it. It was...strange, and nobody had acted like this before. The touch was light, but Severus was always incredibly aware of every minor touch that he had received, as it could so swiftly turn from innocent, or kind, to cruel. This was not cruel, but Severus found himself wary. He had not met purebloods that were so horrifically touchy before. It was practically a rule. Purebloods did not get too touchy with anyone. It was to avoid too many scandals, but even still. Lucius had touched him more in the past couple days than anyone he could remember in the same amount of time. It was physical contact, not contact with a belt, or rod, or whatever else. It was strange, and unnerving. He did not quite know what to do about it, or if he should. He was always waiting for the other shoe to drop, when he would be shoved to the floor, or pinned, or hit. He was still unsure why Lucius was intervening in the first place. It was one thing when they had been in the midst of...things...but now...with nobody nearby...it simply did not make any sense to him. He could not tell if Lucius was trying to butter him up or not, but he figured eventually things would end...quite badly for him.
"Now that we have that out of the way, I wish for you to come with me to the Great Hall." Severus dug his heels in at that. Lucius glanced back, annoyance flashing through his eyes. He released Severus' back, turning to stand before the teen. "Are you denying me?" Lucius questioned, his voice hard with something. Severus felt his breath catch in his throat, fear suddenly rushing through every faucet of his body. It was a fear he did not feel often. Even the mauraders did not fill him with such an emotion, though he mostly found anger and hatred where they were concerned. No, this was a unique type of fear Severus only felt with one person before, and it had him slowly backing away from the Pureblood.
Lucius, however, did not stand for such things. He grabbed him harshly by the wrist and yanked him forwards, watching as he dropped to the floor having completely lost his balance. He did not even try to catch him, merely staring down at him as Severus let the nails of his free hand scrape against the stone floor. "I do not like it when people question me, Severus," Lucius said coldly. "I told you not to anger me, and you did exactly that." He seemed to flood his words with exasperation. Severus had no idea what to do, fear causing him to tremble. "Well, what do you have to say."
"I...Did not mean to anger you so much," Severus whispered out. "I merely was surprised that you would want to do something so brash. I did not know you were..." Severus' words were cut off by Lucius back handing him sharply, sending his face flying to the side. He swallowed his words, a small whimper coming unbidden from his lips.
"I did not ask you to think for me did I?" Lucius hissed. Severus could not bear to look at the Pureblood. It was too intense, the entire situation was too frightening. He felt and heard the pureblood crouch down to better face him. "I did not ask you to think on what I should do, I merely told you to do what I wanted from you...Or have you forgotten?" Severus shook his head slowly. "Good, because I would hate to have to make you my pet instead of my partner." Lucius said harshly. Severus cringed at the words. He did not really understand them, but he did not want to understand them either. Whatever they meant he knew it was unlikely to be good. "Now, you are going to do what I say from now on...correct?" Lucius questioned. Severus nodded once. "Good. I don't want you to make me hit you again because you were defiant or disobedient. It is a shame to see bruises mar your face."
